~The Daily Grind~ 5/13/10

DB - I was ready for my youngest to head off to school and so was he. I can understand how you would be sad. I think I cried a little with each one one the first day, but was glad to see them off. Same when DD went to college. SHe was ready and I knew it was a good place for her.

As for the storms, they are saying some of them this afternoon could be nasty. Great from 2-6, just when kids are coming home from school. I will probably pick the boys up at the bus stop if it is raining. Still praying the track meet in cancelled.

Sooooooooooo I was alone this morning.

There was supposed to be someone in here at 8, but when I rolled in at 8:15, there was a woman sitting in the ticket office (she works here, haha), wondering where the other girl was. I had no idea.

I usually get here at 8, even though I'm supposed to be here at 8:30, but my train kept stopping in the tunnel, so I was on time, but later than usual. I figured the other girl would show up eventually... nope. And I had no idea where she was - I never even got a chance to call her cell phone or anything, because there were so many people. I had a HUGE line, and sold almost 200 tickets by myself..... ugh.

Finally, my boss comes in at the end of it all (I guess she got here late as well), and says "Oh, we had to move her because someone got sick." Arg! I wish she had called to let me know that... not like it would have helped with the line, but at least I would have known....

sigh.

Working until 4:30, then headed home to collapse.

Disney Store Online is having free shipping on all their parks merchandise, so I treated myself to a sweatshirt that I've wanted for a while... I think I deserve it after that line.

Oh, no! Free shipping? I did not need to know that.
Stay safe in all the storms everyone.
Graduation... :goodvibes

I just lost an hour on a bunny trail of useful semi work related websites...okay, mostly not related but I had fun. See a shiny object.....

Back to the real tasks of the day.

Well, my ta-tas are sore, but it's done for another year. They give goodies out (a bottled water, a mint, and a cereal bar), so I had a squeeze and then breakfast.

Got some errands done and stopped and picked up the tie dyed shirts. OMG, they came out so great! I didn't realize the difference between 50/50 shirts and 100% cotton though. The 50/50 look good, the 100% look GOOD. The girls will love them though.

DB, I've only got one, but it's sooooo hard to watch them grow up. I told Morgan again this morning to stop! She never listens to me! :confused3

I still get weepy when my kiddos are gone all day. I miss my little men. Kindergarten is 1/2 day here, so it wasn't horrible. First grade was. I still start watching the clock at lunchtime for when they can come home.

My arm is a little sore. I feel more whoozy than normal. Wonder if the weight loss has anything to do with it? Anyway, I didn't get much shopping done. Went to Archivers for more white gel pens and Chic fil a for my salad. I'm thinking a nap is needed right now.

Welcome Anne!!!

Thanks Ann! :)

I wish our Kindergarten was 1/2 day, but he'll be there ALL day-gonna miss my afternoons with just him. On the other hand, it'll be nice to get some things done around the house (maybe even catch up on my laundry lol).

Did somebody say free shipping??? Time to go shopping! :woohoo:

Yes, I was a little weepy with all of mine..but have 5 kids... when #5 left for school I felt like I had succeed in life getting them all into school!!! My youngest is currently in 3rd grade... Yup, I cried w/ our 3 (2 from previous marriage for DH but are always here)/ The eldest graduates May 28th!!! He's been a bit of a tude lately and DH & I are both ready for him to go.. he'll be in-state so his mom, dad & I can get to him w/in 3 hours..and I actually have 2 sorority sisters on stand-by in the same town as his college! Actually what he doesn't know and won't know..is one of their DH's works for the college! Stepmom has the ins! LOL
Next year I will have 3 in high school..... and a big bad 4th grader!

Same here AWM...
It's gorgeous and warm....just ripe for that stuff to happen..
So far soccer games are still on..... :(
DS13 has choir so it won't cancel.. :(

Here it has been overcast all day. No clue on the temp since I haven't been out. Just check weather.com and it is 58 degrees. Lots of green over Lake MI, and the hour by hour calls for storms through 5ish. Temp should be up to 70 by 6:00. That should make for some nice tornado weather. Not that we get tonadoes this close to the lake, but inland could.

DH just called and said it was pouring about 40 minutes SE of here @ his office.. nothing but sunshine here....anything could happen....

My cake was a hit with the peoples at the party. I'm glad I asked for the switch...but it was only for the day... tomorrow back to the big house!

DS18's car died yesterday...at the DMV...in line...radiator blew up... DH said the car is really dead this time... sigh... Not sure how to get it back home again so they can strip the good stuff out before it goes to the car graveyard... always something...

Still sunshine here.... so who knows whats up with the weather.. forecast just a few didn't show any storms in sight....

Off to the choir concert...

Genealogy update: I just got contacted for info on DH's elusive side of the family!! Here's hoping I can get some good dirt to share w/ DH and FIL....cause they KNOW-NOTHING!!! I think I'm quickly becoming the matriach as all the other girls on that side have passed... Stepmom isn't into genealogy...so it's all on me...

It was sunny here for a while and now overcast, but no rain. Temp did climb over 10 degrees though. Here's hoping things stay calm.

thunder rolling in... little lightning....but that just started... just in time for the kids to go to bed! LOL

stay safe! I think we're going to get missed by the bulk of the rain.
