i needed a pic to make a card for bubba's teacher because he brought her back something from new york, because it was her that gave us all the hints and tips for the trip. so i went to rite aid and printed out a few and........

they STINK! they all have a big black square on the right side of the pic and it's all head no bodies and they are all just messed up. OMG! are ya kiddin' me?? did you even look at these things before putting them in the envelope to give them to me?? so that's on my list for the day too!

AWM--yay to the puppies for "graduating"!! Do they play "Pup and Circumstance"?? Ok, that was bad! :rotfl2: Still, yay to them!!! And yay to you for getting them through!!

:rotfl2:
I have to remember that for a scrap page. It is funny.

This just means they now have enough basics to hopefully not be class clowns in a group setting class. We need to practice some more and then I can sign them for intermediate classes. I have to wait until after the second week of June because my MIL has them that week. It is VBC week and I really don't want to fight that battle. It's been a tradition since the boys were old enough to go. The puppy lessons can wait. As long we keep working with them, we should be okay. It's not like we should stop. :rotfl2:

Happy Earth Day!!

Workin' today. I've got to stop at the Library and pick up the pass for the museum tomorrow. We're going to the Discovery Museum in Acton, MA. My sister has been with her kids and wasn't impressed, but she has boys.

I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow. I hate grocery shopping. Paid my excise tax and sewer bill yesterday. Looks like we'll be eating mac & cheese for a week or two ;)

Hope everyone has a good day!

Congrats to the puppies!

:lmao: on "Pup and Circumstance"!!!! Love it!!!!! Congrats to the puppies on finishing class #1!!!!!

DS left this morning with his drama group for 5 days at the ITS (International Thespian Society) State Competitions. He's performing (singing and dancing) in an ensemble piece. He'll be taking lots of drama classes and seeing lots of shows while he's there. He's so excited. I know he's usually not here during the school day anyway, but it feels wierd this morning knowing that he won't be home later.

Okay, here's my list for today:

are they built yet? or still in the boxes?

ds have a zillion of them?

They are out of the boxes. I tried to put the individual sets in baggies until he took them all out and mixed them. :scared: DH is trying to help him build them again so that we have the pieces straight again. Then we'll probably take them apart and store them. We only have 4 small to medium sets so far.

well my great nieces and nephew came over and took all of ds pieces that he had built apart and mixed everything all up!!!:scared1: OMG!!! it was a complete nightmare. bubba was so upset. actually crying. :hug:i felt so bad for him. the next day dh, mom, bubba and i spent all day sorting by color. i then went to lowes and bought the skinny 4 & 5 drawer rubbermaid containers and put them in there. now we take out one set of instructions at a time and we are trying to rebuild his sets. then once they are rebuilt he will NOW put them on the shelf and they are not to be taken apart again.
i'm not one to discipline anyone else's kids, so i really could not or would not say anything, but i had hoped that my niece would step up and ask them not to do that to bubba. she thought it was funny. i on the other hand did not!

Oh no! Poor Bubba! DS is too little for building them and then not taking them apart. Which is fine, I just need to get a system for him and he'll be good to go. I'll have to check out the Rubbermaid containers. Thanks Holly!

I am sorry Bubba had to go through that. I would have stopped those kids you have better control than I do. I have no problem disciplining others children if they won't bother too.

Rebecca

Poor bubba! My DS used to have all his set up and he'd have been sooo upset if they'd been taken apart. You have more control than me too, because I sure would have put a stop to it. I'm not that nice!:goodvibes

As for storing. What we did with DS's once he took them down was to take the cover picture off the box and the directions and put those and all the pieces for that set in a ziploc bag. Then all the bags were stored in a Rubbermaid tub. We've gotten rid of a bunch of his Legos, but we still have quite a few (Ninja castles and Harry Potter ones). We also had a plastic box that held loose miscellaneous pieces that he used to build whatever his imagination came up with.

Poor Bubba! DH is in charge of the Legos in our house. He's AR enough to deal with it. I can't stand it. ;)

Holly, are you familiar with the website http://www.peeron.com ? They have parts inventories of most of the LEGO sets, so instead of having to dig around in all the pieces when trying to build, you can pull up the inventory for the set, separate the pieces for just that set, and put them in a ziploc and then when Bubba builds, he will already have all the pieces he needs. Peeron also has instructions scans if you have misplaced a set.

I may not have any kidlets, but I have DH. He collects the old Castle and Pirates sets (and the new Pirates). And builds stuff like this

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=48072

Most of it is currently packed away, until we get a house, since we knew we weren't going to be in this apartment as long as past apartments. Each set is in its own Ziploc, and in one of 6 Rubbermaid tubs. The last time I was in FL, I came home with 50 pounds worth of LEGO, I found at a garage sale. At some point that will be sorted. He has a bunch of iris containers and Plano drawers from the hardware department, sorted by piece type. He is insane.
