first of all Merry Christmas to my Dis Family!!!

will be doing final prep of food and clean up, family coming at 3:00ish, dinner at 4:30 then family gifts

Santa will come Christmas morning, breakfast, some quiet time with my girl after my DB and his family leave then to my BIL at 2:00 for early dinner and gifts with IL then to my BFF for late yummies and celebrate her DS 10th bday, yes he's a Christmas baby!

Megan and I had a sad afternoon missing Jim, did a bit of crying and talking then I gave her a special ornament that I found at Hallmark (I got one for me too)....its a white shell with a pearl in it and say " every life leaves something beautiful behind" Jim gave me the best most beautiful gift in our girl....I had been looking for a special ornament of us for a few weeks when I finally found this one...ironically Megan means pearl...another one of Jim's little signs he's looking over us.

I wish you all a blessed, happy Christmas, enjoy your family and friends and I want to thank you once again for all your support and love you have shown us these past few months.

I still have a bit of a cold but it is all in my throat now.

Today:
prep beef stew- (we always have this foir dinner on Christmas Eve- every since I was a child- it was easy to make it in the crock pot and then have it between church services and all- now it is even more important to have something along these lines but I can't remember a Christmas Eve without it)
lunch- leftover turkey, cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole, bisquits, a couple leftover ribs, green beans, salad
type bullitens
print bullitens
fill the dogs stockings (everyone else's are ready to go except for the fruit and all the gifts are under the tree- easier to do when you only have adults for Christmas)

Christmas Eve!!!:santa:

Been busy cooking this morning-ham's in the oven, cooking turkey & sides next. We'll go to church service at 4, then I have 20 people coming over for Christmas Eve dinner. Tonight we'll watch a Christmas movie and DH will read "The Night Before Christmas" and I'll read the Christmas story from the bible. The kids are allowed to open one present from us, then we'll leave out cookies & milk for Santa and sprinkle the reindeer food on the lawn. DH & I usually stay up half the night finishing wrapping and putting toys together...then we're too excited to sleep.

The kids are so excited that we may have a White Christmas!!! Hasn't happened in Atlanta since like 1892. :woohoo:

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!!

Hugs to everyone on this Christmas Eve!

Last minute grocery/BJs run for a few items - a madhouse early this morning! BJs wasn't bad, but the grocery store - yikes - glad I could zip through the aisles get out with my five little things...

Today's activity - bake cookies for us and Santa. Cheated this year and got the tubes of dough - the kids don't seem to mind, and I'm gonna try and not eat any anyway, so who cares? I've got a still neck from sleeping on the floor under the tree last night! But, the kids love this!

DH off to the gym in a few minutes - so the kids will wrap his stuff then and I'll put the pages into the scrapbook and wrap that - then done! Trying something new here too for dinner - takeout Chinese food. That will taste good and be easy - we rarely ever do takeout stuff, so this is a special treat for us!

Good morning all, happy Christmas Eve!

:hug: For Lisa and Megan :hug: We'll be praying for you to enjoy your day. The ornaments sound beautiful :)

Merry Christmas :) Hope everyone has a great day today and tomorrow!

morning ladies.....

perfect ornament Lisa! hugs to both of you! i'm sure it's not easy but he is with you.

well it's been a looooooonnnnng night spent in the e r with bubba. and after sitting and waiting.....they told us to go home. sight unseen. we don't have time or room for tonsils things tonight.
OK really?

i had to work this morning. so mr.crockett came home. my plan was to take him with me, but he just cant. he is that sick. my poor baby boy. my heart is breaking for him.

so dh called his sil and told her we would not be coming tonight.
----she's mad!-----
i called my sister and told her we would not be coming tomorrow.
---she was ok with it. her grandkids have been sick and i can't chance
him being around it. his resistance is soooo low right now. that's all
i'd need.

so we are home bound for the holidays. no parting for us.
i have a ton of wrapping still to do.
no clue for a meal????? wasn't planning on a meal.....
dh asked if i'd make MA's mac and cheese. ok. sure.
he's easy to please.

hope everyone has an awesome Christmas!!

thank you all for all your support!

Holly, tough on your SIL. Her attitude just frosts my cookies. She needs to understand you would do anything you could for your baby not to be sick, on any day. If she can't understand, she needs a whole pocket of coal. You'll probably have more quality time with Mr. Crockett and Bubba quietly at home. I am sorry he is feeling so lousy. :(

Lisa, that ornament sounds perfect for you and Megan.
Linda, I know you can stay out of those cookies!

My to do:

I had wanted to sleep in but I was up at 5:00 am
Feed cats
nurse DH and DD. He is recovering from a cold, and I think she is fighting one off
make breakfast for all
make lentil and barley stew
make spice nuts
make baked brie for tonight
make homefries for tomorrow's breakfast
get grocery list together for DH to run down to pick up a few last minute things
change sheets
fold a few loads of laundry
set table for tomorrow's Christmas breakfast
make gingerbread cookies with DD. She opted out
Relax for the remainder of the day until family Christmas Eve dinner. We always have seafood, goes back to my great grandmother's Irish roots.

Holly, lots of  for Bubba and you and Mr. Crockett. Too bad your SIL is being a pain about it, but tough. You've got to do what's best for your boy and your family. I hope Bubba feels better soon and that the three of you have a nice quiet happy Christmas together.

Lisa, you and Megan are precious pearls in my book, too. Thinking of both of you and sending warm wishes.

Holly - so sorry to hear about Bubba. Hope things slow down and improve - and that you're able to relax and enjoy a quiet holiday at home. Sounds like it is what all of you need! Too bad SIL is being such a jerk...:headache:

Spent most of the last hour looking for the "right" stuffed Rudolph. DS has been asking for weeks - and I've been slowly/occasionally pawing through the boxes of decorations in the attic, but finally today had to break down and REALLY look. (It is kinda sad that we have so many Rudolphs that I kept hearing "That's not the right one..." !!!) But, finally, success! We didn't put up many of our usual indoor decorations this year, so I guess that is why I didn't find it until now - otherwise, he would have been located weeks ago.

We're missing Z2H - she's VERY busy at WDW this week (the holiday crowds are building there!), but it seems strange for all of us not to have her here for the festivities. :sad1:

Holly--I hope Bubba feels better soon :)

Maybe you could make DH's favorite for dinner, that's what I'm doing ;)

Have a wonderful, quiet Christmas just the 3 of you, who knows it may end up being one of your favorite Christmas memories :)

Well, the holidays can truly begin - our neighbor just delivered her annual little tub of homemade "toothpaste-flavored" fudge! :rotfl:

Sadly, I'm not kidding....I really am at a loss to figure out how she makes it. Lovely and kind woman, but OMG...every year, we take one tiny nibble, and keep hoping that she has changed her recipe - but nope! Honestly, DH will eat ANYTHING (especially fudge!), but he refuses this. :santa: And TinkerBean laughs about it every year!

The thought behind the gift is honestly the important thing - and that I get a handy new little Gladware container to use each holiday season - now THAT makes me happy! :rolleyes1

Holly- For Bubba and your fam! As for SIL... does she really feel it's all about her? Nope, it's about you and your family. Bubba feeling better and comfy in his home with you and Mr Crockett is what is important. If she can't figure that out, it's her prob! Some people are just so inappropriate!

Lisa- love the ornament! It sounds perfect!

I had an elf at my house this morning. DH got up, make the cake, put the goose in the oven, set the table, and started putting the gifties under the tree! I made the ham, cole slaw, and decided to make extra special mac and cheese for him because he was so nice :lovestruc

Holly have a wonderful and simple hooliday on your own- enjoy some new traditions just the 3 of you!

Deb- sounds loverly- goo for him!

Rebecca

Holly hope your Bubba feels better, maybe Santa will bring some special healing powers! and "coal" to you SIL, I've got one of those too...stay warm and cozy with your fella's they are what's most important to you!!

sounds like everyone is having a fun and busy Christmas eve, I'm almost ready, just have to make the fruit salad and waiting to cook the rest when its time, get dressed and wait for the family....

thanks for all the wonderful Christmas wishes, I love you all, thanks for being our "family"....enjoy you day and your families!!

 and  to you all!
