I took off from work to get some things done. I realized last week it was the only way I was going to get it all done while keeping what bit of sanity I may have left.

make the bed
Put wood in the woodstove
Feed kitty
ignore stinky pete box, we ran out of litter
Pack up gifts for school
Write in DD's communication book
Put together two more gifts
Do a load of laundry
Get DD up and ready for school
Remember to put camera into the car
Meet MomE
Go to DD's school for Christmas pageant
Stop at Verizon to get Bluetooth synced
Lunch with MomE
Balance checkbook
Pick up cat litter and cat food
Drop off present to DD's swim buddy
Watch the UConn/Stamford womens game on ESPN2

Hi everyone,

Finally feeling a little better - so I hope I get some stuff done.

Kids get out at noon tomorrow, so I have to cram everything into 3 hours!

COFFEE
Up, kids fed and out the door
Note for DD for school pick up
Make sure to pack Teachers gift cards in DS's and DD's back packs
Load dishwasher
Clean kitchen counters and windex everything
Dust front and back stairwells
Dust first floor
Vacum first floor
Wash Kitchen floor
Clean 1st floor bath
Shine sinks in kitchen (3 of them - what was I thinking when we remodelled:confused:)
Laundry (always)
Wrap DH's last gift (if it gets delivered today)
Finish painting doll furniture for DD (She wanted the AG Doll Kirsten furniture - the doll is being retired this year - so of course *nothing* was available so I bought some unfinished wooden furniture at ACM earlier this week and have been handpainting it in the traditional "swedish" style - talk about time consuming)

Have a great day everyone.

Rhonda

"Final day" of everything - kids' school, DH work, etc. before Christmas vacation!

Bread baking continues for neighbors (only two loaves left!) and will take time today to help Z2H finish scrap gift and will reorganize scrap area storage and put new shelf unit to work.

Help kids finish their wrapping - or may wait until the 24th for this...they can't keep secrets!!!

Ease on into the holiday...yea!...finally! :santa:

Woke Up at 0330 today again :confused3

Saw DS21, he was going to bed :lmao:

Got a few more things wrapped

Every year I worry that I forgot something, or that people will be so disappointed. Yup, got that feeling today too :guilty:

Good luck to everyone for all the last minute things on your lists!!:wizard:

Debbie, I'm right there with you. I'm always sure I missed something for someone or that everyone is disappointed. It is always okay, but I'm a worry-wart!

School finished up yesterday so DS will be sleeping in this morning.

My day:
Cut up bars I made last night and make up a box of them for BFF
Put rest of the bars in a container and put with the other "DO NOT TOUCH" goodies
Finish wrapping BFF's gift
Leave out $$ for DS to go get his hair cut
Leave out some bows for DS to put on his GF's presents

Go to Walmart for 2 presents
Go to Petsmart and get catfood and cats' gifts
Go to vet's office for other catfood
Go to Cracker Barrel and shop while waiting for BFF to arrive
Have a Christmas Party breakfast with BFF
Work
Help Santa wrap gifts and finish wrapping last few gifts for under the tree
Cut and assemble one fo the fairies from the Tinkerbell cart for coworker
Bake last batch of cookies
Box up cookies for those that get cookies
Show DH & DS which box of cookies is theirs

Hopefully that is everything that I need to do so that we can just enjoy tomorrow (after I get off work) and I'm not running around like a crazy person!:goodvibes

Have a great day!!

Good morning, everyone! I swear, we celebrated Halloween, and I turned around and it was CHRISTMAS!!! Of course, yesterday, DS & I went to Target and they had VALENTINE'S stuff out. . .that made me feel even MORE behind!

I'm still recovering from the Pixie Dust Hangover, and somehow, Christmas and all of its stuff are refusing to wait on me to get ready! ;)

Deb, I know what you mean. Every single year, I buy stuff I KNOW DH'll like, and then when it comes time to wrap it, I think, "WHY did I buy this?" I guess it just goes with the territory!

Here's my list for today:

25. Gear up for tomorrow!!

I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Wednesday! We can do this!!!

Every year I worry that I forgot something, or that people will be so disappointed. Yup, got that feeling today too :guilty:

i swear deb this is my EVERY YEAR!!!!!! i got that feeling yesterday. so now i'm out like a crazy woman trying to make sure no one's disappointed.

so yesterday while i was out running around in the middle of the day (ok lunch break call it!) i found what i needed and was trying to hurry up back to work and feel a** over teakettle. OMG! landed right on my elbow and butt. laying in ice/ slush/ snow crying my heart out. from the fall, from the season, from the stress. i picked myself back up and limped into work and told coworker "i'll be back!" went home changed up and ran and did some more stuff for more people. again with the *i forgot something*......

we went to the mall last night to see santa and try to find jennifers ornament. NOTHING. also looked for hope. NOTHING. sorry ladies.

while i'm out doing that, pick up a few gift cards.

Good Morning!

I had a wonderful time taking our youth to Epcot yetersday to feel the Christmas Spirit there. While there were a couple of problems through the day- as there always are when we take the youth somewhere- it was wonderful seeing them enjoy the candlelight processional for the first time- watching someone see it for the first time that truly appreciates music is always awesome.

Today:
work with mom on book proposal
finish up a few gifts for our after Christmas trip
Christmas Eve Bullitens finished
insert papers on Jan 9/12 class and meetings
get Sunday's bulliten ready
call and get info for Jan 3rd Bulliten aand get it prepped
hope drum for printer arrives so I can print said bullitens
cover peanut butter balls
help with garage clean out (DH and dad are building shelves for the garage to store our stuff and we will be cleaning things out and storing them once the shelf is built)
dinner- chicken thighs

Rebecca

Good Wednesday morning everyone!

Holly - Hope you aren't too bruised up today, ouch!
Rebecca - How fun, taking kids to Epcot for Christmas! We were able to go last year at Thanksgiving, and it was beautiful.

Every year, my office takes up money and donations for the center in town that helps the needy. We missed Friday's deadline for the food baskets, but we went yesterday anyway. We had a few boxes full, and I went with two other girls to Aldi and we spent almost $300 more. We took the food to the center, and while we were unloading it, there were several families coming to pick things up. It was very humbling to see. I realize there are people who abuse it, but I live in a mostly poor, rural area anyway, and right now a lot of people who had jobs are out of work. Plants have closed down, and there are no jobs to be had. It made me realize how fortunate I am.

I'm off today because the boys are out of school and DH is working, so.....the list is long. Plus, if we get the ice they're calling for on Thursday, the IL's will probably lose their power and that means Christmas may get moved here.....I want to be ready so it doesn't happen! My house is not big enough for 25-30 people, and when you throw in gifts, food and whatever else we'd normally split between three houses....fun!

Laundry (wash, rinse, repeat through the day)
change sheets on bed
vacuum family room
get DS6 to clean his room (as done as it's going to get
clean downstairs bathroom
try to get santa gifts from my closet to the basement without DS seeing (will be done using laundry baskets, lol. He won't come near me, for fear of having to put away clothes)
dishes (same as laundry)
get sugar cookies decorated (they're still nekkid)
make arrangements to get DS9 back from friend's house
probably go help MIL get her gifts wrapped when she gets off work (READ: I will be doing the wrapping)
take out trash

That's enough!
Steph

 Oh Holly. I am so sorry.

I feel bad for all of us who are under the pressure to bring about the "perfect" Christmas. The stress can become overwhelming.

I'm still at my ILs.
Today we get to go to the chiropractor's office.
Then the boys are getting hair cuts.
Not sure what else will happend today.
Just going with the flow while I am here. :thumbsup2

Woke Up at 0330 today again :confused3

Saw DS21, he was going to bed :lmao:

Every year I worry that I forgot something, or that people will be so disappointed. Yup, got that feeling today too :guilty:

You woke up because your little one was just heading to bed.. It's a mother's intiuation (spelling)!! Although I probably would have laughed and asked "why are you up so early?"

Good morning, everyone! I swear, we celebrated Halloween, and I turned around and it was CHRISTMAS!!! Of course, yesterday, DS & I went to Target and they had VALENTINE'S stuff out. . .that made me feel even MORE behind!

Yup, I about fell over when my friend I rounded a corner at Jo's and wham right into the Valentine's decorations. I exclaimed rather loudly.. SERIOUSLY! Can I get thru this holiday first and than relax before I have to handle the next holiday?!? She laughed so hard..because 2 grandma's were in the next aisle laughing hysterically and said to my friend she must have little children chomping at the bits! My friend responded with yes she has 5...and the one lady responded with she isn't but about 23-24!! Ok, now to find that lady! I think I like her!!!!:rotfl2:

I always worry about Christmas.. this year more than others... this year I have 4 teenagers...and only 1 of them asked for anything and that was DD. She wanted a ND shirt and a Vera bag... she got both...(ON SALE!) The 3 older boys asked for nothing... whatever, I'm happy w/ whatever.. Well, whatever was what you got... clothes...and some gift cards, movie tickets...
DS9 asked for some DS games.. so he got those... but they are all so worried about others being taken care of... so I must be doing something right...

To all who are worried about if they got enough:

You did! Have you ever had anyone complain that they didn't like their Christmas presents? (Sidenote: If you have, they're grumpy and don't deserve presents.. my mom can chime in here with the Ladies' Home Journal story at any time).

Your kids are fine with whatever and don't ask for anything because they don't expect anything, so whatever you get them is great! As long as we can use it (and it's not a toothbrush or toilet bowl cleaner) we'll be happy!

The only times I ever was disappointed was not in a present, but in the size of the presents that other people got. Every year, we tend to have one GIANT box. And it seemed like, to me, it was never for me. Although looking back, what was in those boxes that I was disappointed in were things I could never use....... like a giant wool Sesame Street blanket my brother got, which at the age of 12, I did not want nor need.

The best presents come in tiny boxes. Preferably blue. ;)

But they also come when someone who loves you gets you something they think you'll like, and they spend time shopping for it, wrap it all pretty, or work hard on it. And it's all a surprise that morning - you're never going to be disappointed in anything. Even socks are cool on Christmas morning!

Oh, Holly, I'm so sorry to hear about your fall. I would have helped you, but I probably would have giggled a little too (just being honest!). :lmao:

I'm at work. Don't want to be here. I'm cranky and I need 4 days off (and I need to leave early today!)! Not really, but I want to.

I'm DONE with shopping, and my part of wrapping, since I can't find the ornament or any Zhu Zhu accessories, I choose to be done. DH can deal with wrapping his family's stuff.

I hope everyone is having a very very productive day!

Oh, and I got the most adorable Christmas card EVER yesterday from Danica and Pam! Thank you (I let Princess open it, she LOVED it!) so much!

and i too got a great card from danica and pam yesterday. bubba loved it!thank you for thinking of us!

Z2H-Thanks for saying that! What a great way of looking at it! (I'm taking back those toothbrushes now though) :lmao:

Holly- So sorry you fell! I would have been bawling too!

I'm done shopping. I hope I got everything, but I'm done anyway...

My Deal of the Day : 40 sq ft premium wrapping paper for $.50 a roll!! Buy out at the local resale shop... KA-CHING!!

I'm ready.. just need to finish cookies tonight!! Christmas Eve dinner tomorrow...but I'm done! I'm done! I'm so excited because it was all on me again! DH is such a fuddy duddy! Loves the holiday, loves the excitement for the kids..but leaves it for me to do... than wonders why I stress.. Well, hello Captain Obvious!
