Morning Nan. Yeah for Wednesday....just wish it was quittin time at work so I can go home. Not feeling the greatest today and no more sick days. Think its a combination of hormones, a touch of a cold beginning, the stress of Christmas and the tragedy on Friday. Just can't seem to shake this one. My heart is hurting for all those involved.

Here's a quick look at my day:

Boys up & out (they have school through Friday)
Work
Home
Little man from the bus
Snack
Homework check
Hear all about his day today - they got to wear their jammies and are watching the Polar Express and having appropriate snacks. He is so excited!
Dinner
Make chocolate covered pretzels
Clean upstairs bathroom - only got one done the other day
Try to figure out when I can work on swap pieces - barely started either swap
Crash

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning! last day of school for us!!!

we have snow coming down hard...but will be changing over to rain soon! main roads are clear up by us!!!

today I'm on pie pick-up, delivery and sorting duty...so peeved out of 4 classrooms only myself and 3 other mom's are able to help...just doesn't seem right that parents won't help!

other than that Megan has her dance classes tonight, will pick up dinner on the way home from school!

continued P & PD to all in need

hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good morning

Today:
Clean the house
Wrap presents
Give the cat a bath
Kids school play.

I'm working. Wish I weren't...

Danielle, I told Morgan this morning...every time I hear about another person's funeral, another little piece of my heart breaks off. I'm just so sad about it all. I got an email from the CEO of girl scouts the other day. 8 of the girls were Daisy Scouts...and 2 of the boys have sisters who are scouts. So much inexplicable sadness. :sad1:

Anyhow...tonight we have our Girl Scout holiday gift exchange and probably a short meeting. No Survivor, so I think we'll catch up on some DVR'd shows.

Hope everyone has a peaceful day.

Morning ladies!

Finally near home. Flight from san Francisco was cancelled right before boarding. Re booked till this morning at 6 am. No hotel, nothing.

So head home.

Hear there's snow. 2 hour delay. But were staying home.

Jennifer,
I've come to the conclusion that I can't handle hearing and watching any more. I need to turn the channel when it comes on. Not because I'm insensitive to what is happening, but just the opposite. My nerves feel raw and I can't take the sadness. Last night my youngest asked me why I was crying again. He doesn't understand the flood of feelings this brings on from my perspective as a mom. My heart literally hurts when I think of those lost little angels.
So, I will continue to think of the families and those they have lost. And I will continue to pray for their healing. I just can't watch any more.

Me too. I had to turn it off this morning and realize now that I just can't watch it or listen to it anymore.

Morgan can't understand why I get so emotional either. I told her about how President Obama mentioned that having a child is like having your heart walking around outside your body.

It's absolutely a parent's worst nightmare and my heart positively *aches* for the families. :sad2: :sad1:

I'm right there with both of you :grouphug: I just keep changing the channel, even Sarah is walking around in a daze, perhaps because she is planning on being an elementary school teacher "when she grows up" ;)

We have beautiful snow here today :) We need the moisture so badly I'm actually happy to see the white stuff :cheer2:

P & PD for those in need pixiedust:

Lisa--even less parents help when the kiddos reach high school :confused3
Rachal hope you get home soon :moped:
Danielle I hope your little one has an awesome day ::yes::

Rachel has 3 finals today and an allergy shot this afternoon.

Dinner--hamburgers & fries

Have a wonderful day all :flower3:

Afternoon,

Had a early dr. appt this morning and then ran some errands. Just got thru tidying up the house and having lunch. Will clear out my emails and then scrap a bit.

Have a great afternoon!

Becky

:( Morgan didn't get a part in the play. The girl who played the lead last year got the lead again this year...I don't know that I'll be able to talk her into auditioning again next year. :sad1: I'd like her to get to do it once!

Oooh that stinks :headache: Our high school director makes sure the leads go to different kids each year. Give Morgan a hug from me

Bummer for Morgan.

We finally made it home.
Unpacking in progress.
Laundry is sorted and started.
Tried to nap but phone kept ringing.
So up now.

Need to hit the store
Start looking at my photopass photos.

I don't expect that she'll get everything she ever tries out for, but this is her second try. It's going to be hard to talk her into trying again next year. At least 3 girls who had parts last year have parts again this year and yet Morgan didn't get one. :confused3 (I'm probably more upset than she is, she said "At least I'll have my weekends free...") :upsidedow

I hate that. Everyone should get a part. Even if its a smaller one. Is it community theater? Is there others near by?

For nutcracker they rotate the leading roles so its different every year.

Jennifer- That stinks :sad1:
Rachal- Glad you are home safely
Lisa and Cheryl- I agree, as a middle school teacher very few parents help. It is difficult to even take field trip because of supervision. I also am a parent that can never help with stuff for my kids though, because I work full time (except sending things in or some evening activities, etc.). I feel very guilty about it, and am grateful for mothers who are able to help.

Good news today! No more shots!! Thanks for the prayers and pixie dust. I am too exhausted to type. Have a great evening everyone, going to try to bake.

Cassey- Hope mom is still doing well.

sorry Morgan didn't get a part  I hope she'll keep trying though!
happy you finally made is home Rachal, sounds like a LONG night! - biggest reason I'd rather fly direct, no issues with weather delays on layovers.
Michelle yay for no more shots!

I've only been watching a few minutes a day about Sandy Hook, it is so hearthbreaking!

pies went pretty well, except for the really bad cust service from the company, we were there for 1 hour waiting and had to load it all up...not using them again ...when I left at 330 still had 7 orders to be picked up, but teacher was going to hang out so us mom's could leave!

getting ready to head out for dance then home to crash!
