It's Saturday! It's my day off! It's Snowing!!! (I don't care about the naughty mat today) Can I just say IT'S REALLY SNOWING!!

Coming down so hard there is very little visibility. Both my chicks are home, but DH just told me he might have to stay for a bit over at work.

My list for today:

Watch snow fall...

North Pole Wrap Central is officially open in my basement...

Dinner- some comfort food... maybe italian...

Have a Great Day Everyone!! :teeth:

Debbie, I hope your DH gets home safe and sound. Stay warm!!!

My list for today is long. Working such long hours (and everyday) this week really put me behind on everything I need to do!

Work on some more pages for my BFF's Christmas present (I'm making her a Christmas scrapbook)
Make DS's Christmas ornament
Make menu for the week and grocery list to go with it
Send DH to grocery store with shopping list

Sort through mail on counter and update checkbook & pay bills
Tackle Mt. Washmore
Make cards for step-grandmother's gift
Work on a few other handmade gifts
Wrap, Wrap, Wrap presents
Send our Christmas lists to DH's mom
Make sure DH calls his Mom and finalizes Christmas plans. We are going to my Mom's on Christmas Day and we usually see his mom and sister on New Years since they visit other family on Christmas Day. I want to make sure that's how it is this year so that I know if I need to have their gifts finished or if I can finish working on them after Christmas.

Start baking cookies

I think that's enough for now. It's actually a list for the entire weekend, but I'm hoping I can get a lot of it done today!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

The snow is headed my way! Supposed to start overnight, so I'm going out early for breakfast with my friend Holly and then stopping at the grocery store on the way home for essentials (bacon and eggs!), and something for the crock pot tomorrow - probably meatballs.

Princess has dance from 1:00-2:45 and then a basketball game at 3:00. So, we'll leave dance a little early so she can change and get there close to on time. I want to be home and tucked in before the SNOW starts.

Have to figure out where to put the gifties in my trunk so Princess won't see them, I don't want to leave them in there and have to deal with piles of snow tomorrow.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning!

Good Luck to all of you dealing with prepations and white stuff!
DIT- Good Luck getting it all done!

One of my last busy busy days before Christmas- I don't think anyone really knows how much a pastor is expected to do/be at between Thanksgiving and Christmas and while it is sweet for everyone to invite him to the parties as I said the other day I have been doing at least a load of dishes everyday with all the potlucks we have been to but I have nothing to show for it.

Today:
bake lemon cookies- made dough last night- done
roll peanut butter balls
maybe dip peanut butter balls
clean surface areas in prep for mom arriving on Monday
go to Dakin Dairy for Christmas event- starts at 10am
prep church for Church family Christmas party (3rd party for the church alone)
church Christmas party 3:30-late(games, hayride, dinner, and bonfire)
bullitens for tomorrow
get cash for parking at Disney with youth
finish last remebursables for the year (so they can make it on this years reports)
wrap rest of angel tree gifts- some people just bought extra gifts to give to the children who did not recieve as much and gave them to me to wrap and take care of- I only have 1 left to wrap of the 5 angels we ended up with
label angel tree gifts with actual names and contact parents for pick up
contact teacher at preschool for pickup for preschool children on angel tree
make sure we got everything needed for Christmas baskets and see if I have to return to town
figure out Christmas Eve service- need to figure out special music
get ready for mom and dad's arrival on Monday afternoon (plus Daniel has 2 friends arriving that day as well)

Rebecca

This is the latest weather update for my area. I live in new Castle Co popcorn:: It's pretty right now.

The National Weather Service now says the snowstorm will bring 12 to 20 inches of snow to inland Delaware.

But the Sussex County coast is expected to get rain this morning, turning to snow later in the day with about 4 to 6 inches total accumulation through Sunday morning.

The rate of snowfall in New Castle, Kent and inland Sussex counties will increase through the morning, with 1 to 3 inches an hour at times this afternoon and evening, when the heaviest snowfall is expected. Some areas may get 20 inches total accumulation.

Winds of 15 to 25 mph, gusting to 40 mph, will bring near-blizzard conditions with drifting snow, the service said. Winds along the Sussex coast may gust to 50 mph.

Dangerous travel conditions are expected.

A winter storm warning is in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday.

A wind advisory is in effect until 7 a..m. Sunday.

We might get a whole inch of the white stuff. Not much going on outside the window right now.

Today is get everything organized and tidy in the rooms for the new presents due to arrive.

I also get to do the never ending laundry. :woohoo:Not :lmao:

Oh Debbie, we saw the news last night of near white outs in your area.. YUCK!!!
Glad you and the boys are home.. Hope DH gets home shortly!!!

We have white fluffy stuff on the ground but it's just a covering so far..

I slept til 10:30 and DH is mad.. OH well so sad... I forgot, during the day while everyone is gone, I sleep.. YUP, that's it NOT!!! I think it's time to remind him of my jobs and the money I should be making because I clearly make more than him!

This is our latest alert:

SNOW WILL DEVELOP BETWEEN 7 AND 10 PM AND BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES OVERNIGHT. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL OCCUR BETWEEN MIDNIGHT AND 8 AM. GUSTY WINDS OCCASIONALLY TO 35 MPH WILL ALSO PRODUCE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW AND NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AT TIMES... ESPECIALLY ACROSS RHODE ISLAND AND EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS.

STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE 7 TO 15 INCHES... WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL PULL AWAY SUNDAY MORNING BUT STEADY SNOW WILL LIKELY PERSIST INTO EARLY AFTERNOON ACROSS EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS BEFORE ENDING LATER SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

At least it's starting later tonight and going to be bad overnight...I'm all set to wrap and craft and watch movies tomorrow!

Ok gals, everyone got bread, milk, bottled water, snacks?????

Everyone get your errands done and stay home!!!

What Nan said.

Also, be sure to have your candles/lantern/flashlights ready. Know where your extra blankets and sleeping bags are in case power outages make heat non existent.

Go grab that extra load of firewood to put by your door if you have fireplaces. They really don't heat much, but they are great for extra lighting. And they just give off a cozy, we are doing something constructive, feeling.

Stay safe!!

Good Luck to everyone in storm watch areas- keep us updated if you can!

Rebecca

My DH collects and refurbishes old oil lamps. We have them in every room, except the kids rooms. When the power goes out, we "get lit" :lmao:

DH showed me how to work the new propane space heater he bought in the fall too, so we are good with that...

Our Governor just declared a state of emergency. DH is on the way home, and said the roads are terrible. He's in a 4WD truck but I'm still waiting and pacing...

Comfort foods on the menu for dinner tonight... lasagna yummmm...

I hope he gets home soon Debbie.. Keep us posted.... How much of that stuff is on the ground right now?
Now, we are on Debbie's DH home watch!
Seems the ZTH mail watch is still on too....

Ok, I'm going to get ready for the day.. I'm still in my Pajamas! LOL Yup, utterly lazy today and I don't care!

DH is home...whew!! But he can't get his truck in the garage, it keeps slipping and sliding. The boys ent out to shovel the area, which they did already once today...pics...

OH my! That's some sn*w! Good gracious!
Hope he can get his truck in soon... if not, at least it is safe in the drive... we have a sn*owy rainy mix..but nothing seems to be sticking....

He had to let the air out of the tires to get it in, but it's in now...

They are saying we haven't even seen the worst of it yet... ARE THEY KIDDING? At this rate I'm wondering if I'll be able to get to work on Monday...

Not the worst yet? Seriously. ok, who do we need to smack at the news channel!
The kids say they would love to come play in the sn*w but none of them are willing to drive to get to it! I told them you had room for them!!! (they make great helpers!)

It'll be fun to play in... it's light and really fluffy. We have plenty of room, lots of hot chocolate, lasagna for dinner, and video games for tonight, tell them to come on down!!

Ay yi yi! That's a boatload of snow! I would love a snow day on Monday! I hope we get buried tonight and tomorrow ;)

My Eldest is bitterly disappointed in the dusting we rec'd. He wishes we would get some like you all got.

Glad your DH is home safe and sound.
