The Daily Grind ~1/28/11~

I forgot the most important part of my day--I'm taking Sarah to the midnight showing of "Rocky Horror" in preparation for her birthday party! She has never seen it in the theater and it's been over 30 years since I've seen it in the theater, I hope I can stay awake!

Yay! I haven't seen it since college. Have a ball!

My girls get to have 2 metal health days each semester, they just have to plan around tests

Megan has "miss daddy" days....which I totally understand and let her have them...
and of course "I'm not feeling good" fakeout days, those she has to stay in bed until school gets out....she doesn't pull those to often though .

Wow! We don't get mental health days here..
Would be good for the kids to have this option with the amount of tests they are currently having... Seems like the teachers are testing alot but are giving minimal notice (a day or maybe if they are lucky two) before tests...

It's a family thing, not a school thing. We have to choose carefully--if they miss school they can't participate in extra curriculars, so if no school then no band, drama etc. They usually have some sort of activity after school so they need to coordinate class stuff and after school stuff if they want a day off. We're discovering that they have a lot of Friday tests.

I wouldn't mind my kids taking those... But my kids haven't asked...
If you miss school ~ no after school activities and we have a ton of them between the kids..

decided to go through and re-organize my papers (i'm really bad about putting them back in order) looks so nice and neat...
next is my sticker album its a mess since I tend not to put things back there either, plus I got rid of a bunch donation to Jennifers group and the surprise swap, so have a bunch of empty sleeves.
I didn't get to my swap stack yet, was to daunting for me today!

I ordered my gypsy this morning too!!!

well, been "playing enough" today, need to go get my cleaning done ....

Woot for the Rocky Horror! I wanna go!!

Ours are family too. haha. with my work schedule and her school schedule we only get to spend the rare monday holidays and other school breaks together. Shes at school on my days off and im at work on her days off. So every now we have a mental health day.

This whole court thing has thrown her for a loop. She isnt a fan of change in the least. So for my sanity as well as hers I just called her in sick. We did a little retail therapy. Which is not good for the ban wagon, especially at Justice but we only shopped the clearance and then used the extra 40%off coupon, saved more than I spent.

BTW her voice sure came back. UGH!

More good news, we should have our approval on Monday from the other lender. 30 days from then we will have keys!

Ok I better run the vacuum, and pick up the kitchen before lunch. Then to get some etsy orders knocked out and a whole bunch of pages.

I dont care for Justice too much. But they have good clearance and the 40%off coupons I get almost everyday.

Its getting there. I wont be truly excited till we get the ok from the bank. and then the guys will have to get to measuring so I can get to buying. Trying to coordinate it all to get delivered the day after we get the keys so they can get to work. Handyman Rob says he can have all the floors, kitchen and major painting (the high stuff) done in a week. DBF is going to be helping too. I get to be supervisor. Then we will have to pack and move this house over and clean it up. All by the end of March. Better get started on my swaps now.

We will defiantly be hitting up IKEA very soon. I'm going to need a few things.

I also want to get new kitchen stuff. Ive had my stuff for over 11 years. time for a change. Might have to see whats good around southcenter and northgate. checked everything around here and nada. I'm kinda sure theres a pottery barn type store up that way.

Would you believe I have never seen Rocky Horror? Never served on jury duty either. The all american things I am missing out on.

My to do list:

Wood in the woodstove
Get DD up and ready for school
Write in DD's communication book
Eye isn't doing well after yesterday's procedure so I am staying home
Back to bed after Dd left for school
