await DS16 to get home ~~ he is working tonight; they emailed him at school!

Morning Nan and Cassey

So cold here today! My youngest looked like the michelin man as I walked him to the bus this morning: extra thick gloves, hat, hood from his sweatshirt and hood from his coat. He was complaining about it all, until he stepped outside. Brrrrr.

Last night DH "fixed" my van. Said it was working great. So great that this morning I slowed down behind a car that was making a turn and my van decided it wasn't going to move any further. Wouldn't start and smelled hot.....don't know if it was the van or me that was overheating. I'm so sick of car troubles! He insists he can fix it and save some money. Can't afford a new one, so I'm stuck. Called him at work to let him know it was dead. I think he was shocked, because I NEVER call him at work. I think the only other time I've ever called him there was to tell him I was in labor. Luckily I called my work and one of the guys came out and picked me up. I'm so lucky to have the job I do.

My schedule for today has now been thrown a curve ball, since I don't know what will happen with the car.

Call FIL to see if he can get kids from bus
Home???? Guess I'll have to hitch hike
Not making any other plans.....have to see whats up with the car

Ugh!! So sorry Danielle.. I stress out so much over that stuff!!!
I don't call DH's work either.. he knows if I call that work phone he needs to be packing up as we are speaking. I will typically email or text that way he can answer when he has time.. if i text 911 he knows to head out and call on the road. (a system we worked out years ago)...

I hope FIL is able to help with the boys this afternoon.

This weather has definitely OVERSTAYED its welcome! Bring on the spring/summer!!! I despise winter...

It seems the universe knows when I've been able to put a few dollars away and punishes me for it. Had just about covered the amount I needed for Tyler's senior trip. Now that money will have to go to the van and I will have to start over. It has to get easier....but when?

I never know if I"m blessed by marrying a handyman or not - DH insist on fixing alot of things himself too so I understand what you are saying Danielle - hope your at least cares more about how it looks after he is done mine doesn't always but is getting better. I hope the person that came & got you will give you ride back to your house & FIL will pick up the kids.

Sorry about the car troubles, Danielle. I hear you on the universe somehow knowing you've got a few dollars put aside and hitting you right then.

I had a doctor's appointment this morning. How is it that when the office opens at 7:30 and my appointment is at 8:00, that she's already 20 minutes behind? So frustrating.

Was a follow-up about my thyroid and my meds, aka a waste of time and my money and a good way for them to bill the insurance company. Turns out I have a sinus infection, so at least I got prescription for that.

Girl Scout meeting tonight. Quick dinner.

Just so you know, my car thermometer read 4 degrees this morning.....before it died. I would be thrilled with a high of 45!

I think our husbands might be related!

My DH installed a new kitchen for me, from top to bottom, nearly 8 years ago. Its all a dark barn red color and really beautiful. The old kitchen was ivy wallpaper. I've been looking at one tiny wall of ivy wallpaper for the past 8 years because he just can't finish anything. This past November I got tired of thinking of another christmas with that one odd wonky wall. Got fed up and painted the wallpaper with the red paint. He said "I was going to get around to finishing that wall." Sure, take your time. I would hate to rush you. Its only been 8 years.

As for the car, the guys at work think its probably something major wrong with it. They say a car doesn't smell that way unless its something in the engine. I cannot afford another engine! Please send pixie dust that its just something small wrong with it!

Julia passed her math exam! She is so excited to know that she passed, her teacher did not tell her her grade just that she passed. Now on to studying for the rest of them.

Danielle- Good luck with the van, hope it is small fix

Tired after a day at work. Still cold here, warmer than yesterday, but still cold. Thursday night we might get freezing rain? Who knows?

Love my DH, but today I asked him if he could swing by school to get DD1 since I had to go to another school building for a meeting and I didn't know what to do with her (I teach at the school my DD1 attends and his office is pretty close by). Well, 3 phone calls later he did manage to pick her up. First call came at 2:00. DH: "Can I pick her up now because I am in the area?" Me: No, honey- she gets out at 2:20. Second call at 2:15, DH: "which door do I pick her up at?" (I told him, but we had already covered this-or so I thought). 2:24 I got a call that he was at a different door and to send DD to him at the other door. Good love him!! He does help a lot with sports and practices, so I shouldn't complain. And he wonders why I always insist on doing the grocery shopping

Hoping to kit more for my weekend crop
Should clean, but since I will be gone this weekend I am sure I will come home to a wreck either way?

No complaints about my DH (usually ) He does the grocery shopping, the laundry and takes Rachel where she needs to go if I can't. However, sometimes he can be quite annoying

DS16 had his first day on the job today!!
The kids were all questioning if he knew the HS QB because of his last name... he said yes, my brother... they were all going nuts telling him how cool it was!!! He just laughed... Then one of the little ones asked if he was related to PJ.. he said yes.. she said can we call her at school because I need to talk to her...
