Oh man, it is so tempting to pull the trigger on that right now, but I am still on the fence about DX and FF. I really do like that DX crop factor! There's a small voice in my head saying, "Get the D700 and then get the D300s when it comes out." Or, maybe that voice isn't in my head at all. It could be Ann...:lmao:

Oh come on, you gotta go for it now. Hurry before there all gone!!!!!!!!

I'll hold the D80 fort for you while you venture on to bigger and better things. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Add my voice to it. Get it, you know you want it. You need it...

If it wasn't for the fact that most of the lenses I have are DX...if I could afford the D700 I'd snatch that baby up in a heartbeat. :hyper: :hyper: If you still plan on getting the 80-200 f/2.8 I say GO FOR IT!! :thumbsup2:

Just a question, what do you plan on doing with the D700 that you can't do with your current camera? I mean, there are the obvious advantages that nicer cameras afford you, but do you have any specific purposes for it? It seems like a lot of money to me.

What lenses do you have? Maybe you'd be better off satisfying your NAS if you nadded one of those?

I agree with this. Are you limited by your camera in some why that you are unable to get the pictures that you want? I often say on another forum that we as camera owners need to stop always wanting the next new thing. Use the money to buy a lens or two something diffrent than you own already. I say upgrade only when you have the actually outgrown what your current camera can do for you. I know its not the answer you wanted but I think you should stick with what you have and spend the money if you feel you have to on glass.

I'm looking for better and faster in low light. I love to shoot at agility trials. But my D80 won't handle the fast shutter speed I need to catch a dog in action. Impossible at indoor trials.
The noise on the D80 above ISO 400 is really annoying me. I can't get it clean even though I own some nice glass. Metering on the D80 has also been a pain sometimes.
