CAST: Me - a bit of a commando, believes in the saying, "80% of life is showing up" but not only showing up, showing up EARLY! loves WDW, likes to walk swiftly.
DH- "Map Man" has a freaky, but useful internal GPS in his head. Claims he doesn't like Disney all that much but he initiated this trip. Also a swift walker.
DD " Mouth All Mighty" Yeah she's chatty. We should have thought that sibling thing out more. Age 7 going on 30. Loves WDW and Mickey.
Has this thing about getting Excellent service. Can walk swiftly when she needs to.
DC - Grace the cat 11 months old. She is going to "cat camp". This place is the Grand Floridian for cats.
We woke up early for MK Early Entry and right away things didnt start well. Later in the day we realized we were under some strange curse where anything that began with the letter S was going to go wrong . The first S was Map Mans shoulder. Apparently it was out of joint and hurting quite a bit. He often has back/shoulder/ neck issues so I wasnt paying too much attention. Until it became clear he was grumpy about it all. As we are getting ready Mouth realizes she has lost her Mickey Mouse sunglasses. Mouth has a losing problem and we are trying to cure it with tough love. In other words you lose it, you replace it. This is hard for Mouth because she loves money. Knowing from past trips that WDW eats sunglasses I have brought her about 5 pairs, but only one Mickey pair that she had bought herself on our last trip. Now Mouth is grumpy. I am still a happy ray of sunshine encouraging my group along, here mouth use these sunglasses maybe the Mickeys will show up, Here Map Man take some Advil. We set off and get to MK in plenty of time for early entry. It is way more crowded than yesterday and we have decided that due to our swift walking and the heat we should get a stroller for Mouth, she did great yesterday but it is so hot and she was dragging by the end. There was a huge crowd around the stroller area so Map Man says meet him at Fantasy Land and hell get a stroller and come over. We do Fantasy land much like the day before and are at the rope for rope drop. We head quickly over to Splash Mountain only to get there and hear that SM is down! Mouth feels this is not excellent service at all!! If you have been counting that is the 4th S of the morning! So we go do Thunder Mountain and then go over to Mickeys Philharmagic. We had a CM call and check after that but SM was still down. So we decide to take the boat over to Wilderness Campgrounds and got to the Buffeteria for an early lunch, no one had much breakfast. We get over there and lunch doesnt start for 45 minutes so we figure we will waste time by going to see the horses and letting Mouth do some arcade games. It is So hot and time is passing So slowly so we decide to bag this adventure and take the bus back to WL. No one was trying very hard to make the best of things so I had finally had it with them and I got what Mouth calls my big eyes, they started making more of an effort to behave better while we were waiting for the bus.
I call that part of the day Slowly Starving. Got back to WL ate at Roaring forks again. Had a swim and Map Man thought he would use the powerful jets in the Spa on his shoulder but the spa was out of order. After we swam we decided to go to the Character Outlet stores for the afternoon. We usually find a lot of stuff there but this time it was a bad shopping day. Everything was way more expensive than I remember from before and they didnt have much. Map Man said he had read that on Mouse Savers. Now he tells us. Next S up is: I got Sworn at in Spanish As we were leaving the mall this lady came up at me from a booth in the middle and says Excuse me Mam can I show you something? Well , I know what she wants to show me, it is some overpriced nail products that I have already been accosted into buying at my home mall. So I say, No I am all set thanks and according to Map Man I sped up to warp speed past her. Mouth says, Mom she looked like she was going to cry. Im sorry about that, but I said it nicely and really I was doing her a favor b/c I wasnt buying any. We had to go back by a bit later and wouldnt you know this guy starts, Mam , excuse me Mam . I sped up and before any more words can get out of his mouth, my original nail friend says something in Spanish and he shut up mid word! Map Man and Mouth think this is hysterical! We dont speak Spanish but I have pretty good idea what she said. Somewhere in that shopping trip Map Man bought a Shirt that didnt end up fitting. He was pretty disgruntled about that. We decided we would just get some dinner and go back and go to bed early and start all over tomorrow. By dinner everyone was doing better and we actually stated laughing once we realized about the curse of S. Off to bed and tomorrow we do Epcot and Soarin! Oh no! Soarin is an S word!!!!!!
