Has anyone had experience cruising on the cruise after a westbound transatlantic cruise?

We are on the 9/27/17 5 Night Canadian Cruise out of NYC. The ship will be arriving from the transatlantic cruise and also it is the first halloween cruise of the season.

I am wondering if it being the transatlantic, there might be certain inspections, custom policies for crew, etc. plus the halloween decor added on that might slow down or delay our cruise boarding times.

I have heard of other lines being delayed until afternoon and I am curious about DCL.

I was on the 2nd cruise after transatlantic last year. If I remember correctly boarding was delayed for some reason for that first cruise (something about new employees have to clear customs or something like that). I don't think it was delayed much though - maybe closer to the actual time Disney says (though they often start boarding earlier). But the ship didn't leave any later than ours did a week later.

Delays can happen after ANY itinerary - inspections are done, there are other issues, etc.
