The Crazy Life of a New Floridian & Ongoing TRs

Got great news yesterday! Well, I guess I should first give you a little background.....

Jeff was planning a golf weekend here while Ally and I are in Disney in 4 weeks. All his weekly golf buds from SC were going to be invited to come down and stay for the weekend and golf during the day, and hang out at our new outdoor bar at night. But Jeff's sister needed a baby sitter that weekend so his dad had to cancel to stay home and help Jeff's mom with the kids.

Turns out that they all had the wrong weekend so now his dad IS available to come down that weekend so the golf weekend is back on. Jeff didn't want to have the other guys down without his dad. So there will be about 8 guys here that weekend destroying my house while I'm gone. Wait, did I say I got "great" news yesterday??? Oy vey!!!

But this way Jeff won't be stuck here by himself. Even though Ally and I invited him to join us, he didn't want to mess up our "girls weekend" which was sweet. And now we don't have to worry about him messing up our weekend!!!!

I'm so glad your weekend - and Jeff's will be safe! I see the evil one didn't win this time!

I loved your mini TR! Ally is growing up so fast! Thanks for sharing your day with us!

Somehow I didn't get notified with your last 4 or so TR updates. But I just read them all. Love your park ettiquete, actually if people would just have some consideration for others it would be nice. My big one is you don't have to crowd people and if people aren't crowding those in front of you, don't step inbetween them, as you say your 12 guests trying to squeeze into a foot of space.

That is so great that Ally enjoyed EE and Dinosaur. I wish my Jacob would.

Thanks for the parade pics. I think Jacob would like that one. So now I am torn, want to see MK in the daytime with the Halloween decorations. Go to Typhoon Lagoon before it closes for refurbishment, and now I really want to go to AK. At least gas prices have dropped.

Great as I call them, MTR and also glad everything worked out for you and Ally to have your girls weekend and Jeff still gets his boys weekend!

I don't know why we've never seen the parade before, but I guess it just wasn't a priority - but I really enjoyed it. We missed so many things when we were there in May for a week with Jeff's family. They wanted to do everything THEIR way, and by doing that, we missed every single parade at every single park that trip. But we knew we'd be back and it wasn't worth the hassle. Hey, they missed out, not us.

Yes!!! Let's plan on it! I must see the Badookie!!! We were thinking (read: Jeff was thinking) that we'd let our season passes expire next year since we've been so much this year. Yeah. I laughed at him. Not a chance!!!! AND, I think if we renew them we save like $50 each or something like that. So we'll definitely renew these passes. Plus, my parents are starting to get excited about coming down to see us and doing maybe 2 days in Disney. I don't think I want to do a whole week or anything with them. We'd all kill each other.

She still brings up Dinosaur to him!!! And she colored him a picture of a dinosaur and asked if it would scare him too much hanging on his wall at work! I think they might do an MGM day cause he really wants to take her on Rock n Rollercoaster. She will absolutely LOVE it!!! So I'm not going to take her on it next month when we go. I want him to be there for that. That can be their "thang."

Our DD, who will be 16 in 20 days (she keeps updating me on the countdown), rides ToT with me as DH won't. As a matter of fact in the more than 30 visits we have to WDW he has NEVER even considered ridding ToT.

Now mind you the man has done some wild and crazy and scary stuff in his life but that little old ride just isn't on his list

I've decided to take Ally out of school on Friday next month when we head down for our Girl's Weekend. I think we'll leave early that morning and head straight to MGM. That is the only other park that I've never driven to. Weird, huh? Since MGM was built we've always stayed on property so had no need to drive.

We'll grab FPs for TSM first thing, and then hit ToT, Star Tours, and The Muppet Movie (Ally has never seen this one), and maybe Indiana JOnes as she's never seen this either. After that, we'll check into our resort, and maybe relax that afternoon and just grab dinner at the CSR food court. If it's warm enough I may let Ally swim for awhile that night. OR we may stay for Fantasmic at 7pm this night. She's never seen Fantasmic and I haven't seen it in 10 years!!!

Then Saturday we'll head to MK that morning, do all the "thrill" rides early, then get her to BBB in the afternoon for her "surprise" appointment. I'm even thinking of telling her I "forgot" her dress and then having it waiting for her there. Not sure about that yet.

Our dinner that night is at 1900PF so I'm excited about that. Afterwards, we'll probably head back to MK and catch Spectro at 8 and Wishes at 9, before heading back to crash.

Sunday we'll head to Epcot and catch TT and Soarin in the AM, then I have a DISmeet with one of my buds sometime that day in World Showcase!!!

Before we head out, I need to get to DTD sometime during the trip to pickup some Christmas presents, including stuff for Ally - the CMs are usually great about grabbing it for me and hiding it so Ally can't see it. I may actually do that sometime on Friday so I can have the packages sent to my room the next day. Hmmmm, maybe on Friday we can head over there before Fantasmic. Yes, just thinking out loud here.....

OK, I need y'all's opinions here. I"m thinking of picking up the DDE card this trip. I know you save 20% off table service meals, including drinks, right? I guess it's called Tables in Wonderland now. So 1900PF is $50 for the two of us, maybe I"ll have a drink so let's say $60. There's a $12 savings. Unless we're on the DDP, we don't eat TS every day, so I just don't know if it would be worth it or not.

But I am thinking that if my parents come down, we'll go to Biergarten for dinner, and also do a character meal so they can enjoy that. So let's say $150 for Biergarten, that saves us $30 and $120 character meal so there's another $24. That's $66 in savings. I'm guessing we'd end up using one or two more times maybe??? OK, I'm sold. Thanks for your help!!!

We love the DDE! Obviously we don't do the dining plan so we use DDE every time we eat. Since we're not on a schedule, we don't care how long our meals take so we enjoy a relaxing meal. Not that it takes that long to eat usually anyway. But definitely the drinks make it worth it. If we get to a meal early, we'll sit in the bar and have a drink while we wait.

I'm planning to get an annual pass at some point this next year, too, and will DEFINITELY be getting the DDE- between the trip with Loni and then a trip with DH in Sept or Oct, it will pay for itself- especially if DH & I go to V&A's, right?

I am the biggest pin geek! I don't know if I mentioned before, but I screwed up on ebay and bid on three different trading pin lots, cause every time I'd bid, I'd be outbid at the last second. Figures that I would win ALL THREE of them!!! So I go to the mailbox on Saturday and get 70 pins total!!!!

I thought Jeff was gonna kill me. And then he started going through the pins. Now HE has become the worlds biggest pin geek! He wanted to go to one of the parks on Sunday just to trade pins!!!!

He got those puppy dog eyes and said, "But I haven't been in over a month!" I told him we can go in a couple of weeks. This week we're heading up to SC to visit his parents, but maybe the next week. I swear, who would've thunk that I would be the voice of reason regarding Disney???

But I just heard that the Osborn lights might be up during our Girls Weekend trip, so I might "invite" Jeff to join us after all. Even if he drove down the second day, that way Ally and I could still have our time, but he could come down and we could all enjoy the lights together.... Plus, hopefully MK and Epcot will have their decorations up, too!

Gee, I wish my DH was a pin Geek, too....seriously!! I'd LOVE my husband to be whining about not having been to Disney in a month- I mean, he likes it there and all, but, well....I am always the one leading the charge, if you know what I'm sayin'! We are flying down on Halloween and I am bouncing-off-the-walls excited about MNSSHP and the cruise, and he's like yes, it should be fun.

Think I'm offended by the casual reference here. I'm just a DIS bud? You stalk me on the weekends, for crying out loud!!!!

As for the DDE card - GET IT! It's worth if for the discount on booze alone! You can't use it at kiosks, like around Epcot, but can use it in various lounges. So, for instance, in England, instead of buying beer at the outside stand, just go into the bar - they'll take it in there! Plus, I think it is accepted at some CS places; might want to look into locations at POP since I know you like staying there.

Yeah, I'm completely going "reply" crazy on your report right now, but forgot to mention.........we'll be at MK on Sat. also. It's our last full day. Don't know how early we'll get there, but we'll probably stay until around 3ish. We have 7:05 ADRs at LeCellier that night, so we'll want to have some time to head back to the room to give Amanda a break. Maybe we can see you & Ally that day also. (doesn't mean you get out of meeting me for a Citron Slushie on Sunday, though!)

You and Ellen are killing me! Just what I needed to lighten up my morning! I spent an hour working last night - just crazy busy! And my back was killing me last night! I think it's stress related though. Cause as the night wore on, it got better, but during the day yesterday it was horrible, and then gradually just faded away...

Oh, and I think Ally and I are gonna be at MK all day on Saturday! She has her BBB appt in the afternoon and then we have 1900PF for dinner that night. So we'll definitely hook up somewhere there, too! But of course we'll still have our slushie in France on Sunday!!!
