I thought long and hard about what to name my trip report. I thought about acknowledging our survival of tropical storm Debbie. I thought about acknowledging a recurring theme during the trip. I thought about including something from the title of my PTR. In the end, I figured Id try all three.
So as I did with my PTR, Ill explain the title first.
Which one of you splashed me?
Tropical Storm Debbie hit while we were in Orlando. Everyone knows it. We had rain and it wasnt the pleasant afternoon sprinkle Florida is known for either. Which one of you splashed me became a mantra for me. Its how my children made the best of being rained on for days on end. My daughter made a game of seeing how many puddles she could walk through. My son when he had opportunity to did the same and he had more opportunity than I planned when I failed to secure his stroller cover well enough and the wind blew it up while the stroller was parked. In that rain it doesnt take long to make a stroller useless. He was for the most part good about walking, but did want to be carried some. I was so glad I got him a raincoat before the trip. To add to their entertainment theyd splash me as we walked. It became a running joke. Id say, Hey, which one of you splashed me? Dd would laugh. Ds would say, Mom, youre so funny! Id give them both the Im watching you sign and wed all laugh.
It was crazy fun.
The title of my PTR was if its crazy I dont want to be sane. Tropical Storm Debbie and all, we had a great time. The storm only removed World Showcase from our schedule. We pretty much did whatever we wanted. We made all of our ADRs. Of course we had our moments. Heading back out into the rain to go to dds BBB appointment was a challenge. Wed been to the park that day already and had a good time and gotten a lot done, but we came back to get cleaned up and get her stuff. I had to assure her it would be fine. She'd cried on our previous trip seeing the girls all made up. The rain would not get me out of the heavy financial penalties of not showing up for both BBB and CRT. This turned out to be the day Debbie brought her worst. Looking back though it was probably our best day.
Ill get things started this weekend.
everyone in advance.
