I gave Red Robin 3 tries. Enough said...Glad to hear that! I'm not a huge fan of Red Robin, it's just okay to me. So to hear that it's better makes me happy!

Trust me, I never went as my first choice...usually with a group. I opt out know! Gotta make it to Teak this trip coming up and Bubbalous. 18 daysMy nephew was served a burger which was frozen in the middle last year from RR. Will never go there......heard too many negative things about it........I'm sure plenty of folks have had good meals there......but, nope......too many other good places to go.
I always recommend Teak Neighborhood Grill for one of the best burgers in the areaBut Cowfish is pretty darn good too..........

Agreed!Went to RR once, a friend made the call. Way too expensive for the quality. We love Cowfish!

I will give another perspective
Cowfish has been the worst dining experience we ever had (and I've had a few lows before, but this one has hit rock bottom)
We went up the elevator when we received table is ready notification
We approached the counter upstairs, and the employee there snapped at us, and gave us a lecture about us being 3 minutes early ... line up against the wall and wait ... so rude, we didn't even get a hello or a welcome.
Our server was nice at first. I told him I usually do burgers but I might get tempted by sushi this time, I only tasted some on my wife's plate at California Grill
I made sure he undrestood that I was hungry, and I mean, I'm a 275lbs guy who loves to eat too much.
He assured me that the portions were huge, and he emphasized on the fact that they're bigger here than at other restaurants
so I went for the most expensive item on the menu. My wife and kid went for the bento boxes, adult and kid respectively
When my order arrived, I thought it was only part of it, and more would come, but no. 8 small pieces of rice, with a ridiculously small piece of meat atop of it (overcooked and bland).
There was less on my plate than in my kid's, child meal box
But I soon realised that, this was it. Wait, if I count right what's advertised on menu, I should have gotten 22 items and got only 8
When the server came to check on us, I had finished my plate and was waiting for the rest of my order ... and I soon realised that what I was served was not what I had ordered ...
The server argued that it was top quality, yada, yada ... and I got what I ordered ... no, I didn't.
I asked to be served something more hearty like a burger, as I was hungry, I would pay for another entrée, I just wanted food. I was denied that, because the restaurant was busy, and I already had my entrée ... what ?
I argued that 8 pieces of rice did not qualify as a "huge portion". Our server then snapped back that Sushi is generally a light meal, and it was not his fault that I ignored that. (Wait, I told you I wanted Fooooooood and in large amounts, and you said I would get it, and you didn't even serve what I ordered)
The server then sent me a manager, before we even had a chance to order dessert (shakes were the main purpose of our visit)
she handed me the ckeck, and I noticed that I had been charged the $25 of the entrée I had ordered when I was served a $17 item.
The manager would not hear anything, despite the plate still being on the table, and it would not be big enough for the entrée I was charged
she warned me that she needed my credit card NOW or she would call security
I was upset, but I'm not a troublemaker, so I gave her the CC to pay for items I didn't even get
She came back after processing payment, and full of contempt, she informed me she had taken 10% off my bill as a gesture.
I told her she didn't do any gesture, as I'm a AP holder I should have had those 10% anyway (AP was hanging on my lanyard for her to see, from the start)
she turned away and we were left there and urged to leave the restaurant
so upset, I went to guest relations next to red oven, and after 10 minutes of manager telephone calls, we were compensated for the full amount of the meal
needless to say that we won't go back.

How long ago was this experience?
I wouldn't do that. Our experience was great and most reviews are overwhelmingly positive.Scratching cowfish off my list...
We have one in Charlotte and I have been once. Personally I would go to Vivo instead. The prices are not that different and the food is excellent.

We loved Vivo too - excellent Italian meal - but Cowfish came very close. My favorite is the jalapeño burger.
We actually went to both places twice during our week long stay.
Have a great time!!!
