The countdown to POP Century - September 2011!!!!

Remember when we were at 189 - thats when I joined this group... what a long 160 days that was... :rotfl: I hope the last 29 fly by for us all... we packed and cataloged last night what we had in all the suitcases... now to see how much more has to go in there  2 checked, 4 carry-on, 1 stroller, 4 personal bags... this should be interesting :rotfl2:

Dang girl...that's alot of luggage. Right now I am trying to decide how I wanna pack. First thought is I have one checked piece with odds and ends, 3 carry-ons with ALL our clothes in those, and 1 carry on of little gift exchange stuff for our group of kids. and somethings for my girlfriends....just things perfect for them so when they go home and use them they can think of me:rotfl: Ok OR I was gonna pack 2 carry-ons of clothes..(in case luggage is lost) and then 1 carry on of gifts, and then 2 checked pieces....I hate spending money for checked but I am sure I will be returning with some extra stuff.

Yeh - I haven't a clue how to pack light - probably bringing way to much but I really don't wanna do laundry on my vacation so 2 checked it is... figure the extra $20 is worth it in the end... plus we have stuff for others in those bags at the moment, halloween costumes, princess dresses, etc... LOL... again - light packing isn't in my vocab I guess... :rotfl: but I'll probably repack it again at least once before the trip so will have to try to downsize a little more...

Space bags are a great way to reduce voluminous items. I use them to pack Ursula (my MNSSHP costume), she is humongous and it really helps to squeeze out the air. The big (haha - pun intended) problem I have this year is our oversized hats for our tea at GF. They will need to be incased in a hard box so they don't get crushed.

Glad all of you obsessive dissers will understand, dd21 went to Home Depot for paint chips for a countdown calendar because I had not done it yet. I love that my kids are still kids at heart.

$20??? It's $25 each way per piece so my dilemna is spend $50 r/t for one piece or $100 for 2....Hmmm what I could buy with $50

it could be $25... we fly airtran down and pay for checked but on the way back we fly Jet Blue so don't pay for 1st checked each on way back... so its only a $20-25 difference to not feel like I'm forgetting anything... ;) I worry that I left something important behind... still have to pack our toiletries too... I know - my packing is a little nuts :D dmil might have some things needing packing too so going to offer her a little space in dh's bag..

I completely see your point though - if we paid both ways i'd probably downsize - maybe... :lmao:

pre-ordered my Photopass CD.!!:cool1::banana: Feels like we are getting so much closer. Ok now to make my list of what will be in each luggage piece.

My GF called and asked to borrow a lrg piece of my luggage....she said "I doubt u have any available cause if I know you , you are already packed":lmao: Glad she knows me!! However I do have one large piece I haven't used yet so I told her she could use it:rolleyes1

Yeh - that's right - gotta look into that - how much are they? cheaper to order ahead of time right?

You are so organized. Good for you.
Could you explain how you did the photopass CD? I think I did something wrong.
Thanks:goodvibes

That's an excellent idea to put some clothes in the carry-on...you have me thinking:scratchin Our carryons are below the size we are allowed. Maybe I'll increase it to the "tiny" suitcase with wheels and then I can throw some extra clothes in it.:thumbsup2
As for our checked luggage we have the maximum allowed on Air Canada but looks like it will only be half full. That way we have room for our souvenirs and we won't go over the weight allowance. A few years ago I bought a hand held luggage scale, which is worth it's weight in gold. It weighs maybe a couple of ounces and I always take it with us in the carry on. I found it in the luggage section in Walmart.
We have learnt to only take enough clothes for 5 to 6 days. That way we can spend a day at the pool, do some laundry and relax. And since we've been at Disney at this time before I know how HOT it is. So, there are clothes (and make up) I don't even bother bringing. Besides if we've forgotten something, we just have to have there's a SuperWalmart not too far away. It has great deals on Disney souvenirs and we can always pick up some snacks.;)

Hey thanks. Did you get the thingy for the free photopass book? Has anyone done this yet? And how did you do it? For some reason I'm really confused with all of this. :confused3
I might wait to get to Magic kingdom and have the great folks at the photoshop help me.

You will make your photobook after you get back home using the website, all of the photos that you took and uploaded, and all of the photos on your photopass card. NOTE: You do NOT have to purchase the photopass in order to use the pictures in your photobook. You will have unlimited access to your photopass pictures on the photopass website for 30 days and then if you need more time you can pay for an extention. You will not recieve a photopass cd unless you pay for it, but the book that you design using the easy to follow online tools is really nice.

We stopped buying the photopass a few years ago and only get the photobook, so it is cool to get it free this year. They are hardbound with good quality paper.

U don't do anything with the pre-order cd until you return. Must upload all cards , make all the edits you want adding boarders, text cropping , etc. then you mess with the cd credit. Like PP said you don't need to get the cd. We just love it. The photobook we recv'd as well for free but there is not enough room in anybook for all my photos:rotfl2: I like to make the additional photos for my Mickey room, the kids room, our xmas cards, etc. I will spend way more then the $99 so best to have every photo of our 16 group gang....we will have lots!!!!!:):)

I have alot of photos that I am gonna ask the photopass people to take....so probably not a good idea to get behind our group...sorry to those who may get behind us at MNSSHP!:confused3 I mean each family will need a shot and the kids and the group. Hey I pay just as much as everyone else for my vacation so I deserve all the photos as well!!;)

I just did online check in!!!!! Tomorrow will be the single digit dance

Nice! This time next week I'll be boarding a plane at BWI headed to Pop. Only 7 days left until we're home.
I don't know what's up with my ticker though. It lost a day somewhere.

Good morning fellow DISers - only 4 weeks to go!!!!!!!!!1 :cool1::banana::cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

So excited - won't be long now - we are headed to Bangor, Maine this weekend for a quick anniversary/shopping trip for the day on Saturday - would've done overnight but Irene is spoiling my plans :scared1: oh well... time to get the last few new clothes we need for the trip...

So I have to know - who's your favorite disney character - mine is either Minnie or Alice...

My favorite character is Donald Duck!:donald: He is just soooo cute!:goodvibes
I cant wait for this vacation to come. We are getting so close now.

My favorite is Mickey of course! Though Robin has brainwashed me over the years and I now think Donald is pretty irresistible Too. Mickey is still #1 cause ya'all know it started with a mouse!! But Donald is pretty awesome too.

We are getting closer! Can't wait I need this vacay. Well off to do laundry. I have a list of things not to forget. However I thought of something last night but forgot to write it down.:scared1:
