The couch pullout

It's pretty small. And it folds down rather than pulls out, strangely.

He's barely 4' tall.

I'm 6'2 and slept often on these.
Small and uncomfortable

My adult son sleeps on it. He doesn’t complain about it. It doesn’t pull out like a bed unless you are in concierge. It’s more the couch just flips to a bed- just as the picture shows.
Have a fun cruise! :)

My daughter is 15 and 5'1". She was the same size on our last cruise and didn't have a problem, so I think it would be fine for a small adult, someone tall, probably not.

DD18 is 5'3" and has no problem sleeping on it. DD14 is 5'1" and sleeps in the ceiling bunk.

Yeah, that won't work. Poo. I'm guessing I can't change rooms at this point. My cruise is next month.

What are you looking to change to? Other than concierge level, all staterooms have the same queen bed + sofa. The only other option is a family stateroom with a murphy, but be aware that not all staterooms in that category will have the additional murphy bed.

I haven't slept in it, but I've always had the understanding that the sofa bed was a regular twin size mattress... it does have a slight "headboard" and "footboard" as the sofa armrests.

Enjoy your cruise!

Okay, so of two adults who don't share a bed are cruising, one MUST sleep in the couch pull out?
I guess we could share a bed. But I would rather have my own space.

Yes, that is an issue faced by non-related adults when sharing a stateroom on DCL. DCL doesn't offer the split-beds option anymore. The classic ships used to be able to do that -- split the queen into 2 twins -- but the Dream-class ships never did and the classics haven't for several years since a refurb was done.

You can try for a "family" stateroom -- depending on what category you already have booked, that may be an upgrade (upcharge); plus you'll need to be sure the room you book has a murphy since not all do.

Okay I may call and check to see. I did just Google and notice the family staterooms have a double sofa bed. That would help I just can't imagine sleeping on a single couch bed for a week!!!

Which ship are you on? I think the double pull-out sofa beds are only in Concierge rooms, but I could be mistaken. I'm sure someone else here can confirm yes or no.

If you do have to upgrade to a higher category room, you will pay the fare from the date you booked and not current fare if it has increased since then.

Enjoy your cruise!

The Dream

I'm 30-something, 5'8" and a stomach sleeper. I've slept on it for 7 cruises now (Mom gets the bed). I either tuck my toes in the bottom/end of the mattress, or sleep like a chalk outline from a detective story with knees bent. I usually have 3-4 inches of play for my arms, so I assume it's 6' long. I've always slept fairly well on it, actually, and the mattress is comfortable enough... I can't complain - I'm on a cruise!

Ah!! This makes me feel so much better. Thank you!

Not sure anyone can answer this, but the murphy bed was fairly hard (compared to the queen, but tolerable otherwise), mostly because it doesn't have any springs under the mattress. Just the board for the bed base. However, does anyone know what's under the sofa bed mattress? Is there any type of box spring, unlike the murphy bed (and the bunk for that matter)?
