Good food, good service, good atmosphere w/the aquarium. We enjoyed our meal there this past Sept & have our ADR for this year's trip.

Coral Reef is a favorite of our family. The food is great, the atmosphere cannot be beat, and the service is pretty good. I think CR is one of the most consistent TS restaurants on WDW property (signature restaurants excluded). We try to fit this place into our schedule on every trip. I personally think they have the best entree of any single TS credit restaurant going in WDW: blackened catfish with pepper-jack cheese grits topped with smoked tomato compote and balsamic vinegar........this dish is full of flavor and texture which makes for an amazing dining experience.

I was really excited about this restaurant, but then I read the review over ar WDWinfo and it made me a little nervous.

We LOVE  Coral Reef. We have had amazing service, amazing food and the view is beautiful. We are eating there again in May and we can't wait.

I just jumped over and read the review; my opinion is the person writing the review was a little self important........come on, going into a restaurant during lunch and wanting to order off the dinner menu???? Give me a break!! Another problem with his review is the fact he is comparing Coral Reef then (when it was first opened is was a signature restaurant with bigger menu) to Coral Reef now (no longer a signature restaurant and smaller menu). I have been to Coral Reef during both incarnations and think he is a bit presumptuous to think his recent trip would be on the same level as his initial visit. To compare Coral Reef then and now would be like comparing Le Cellier to Yachtsman's Steakhouse.......they are two different classes of experience and the pricing reflects that. Remember he is basing a review on only two visits, and he created a situation of potential disaster by requesting to order from a menu the kitchen was not prepped to serve him. When you go into the Coral Reef, order from the menu being offered for your meal time and you should get a meal that will make you happy. Sometimes when a review is written, the writer thinks more of themselves and write it from a point of pretentious expectation rather than objective experience. Just an opinion from a chef who knows food and food service!

P.S. I am not trying to say the some points of the review were not accurate, but I would expect some of the results which they received if I ordered off menu.

A must do for us on every trip. IMO the best 1 CS (non-signature) restaurant in WDW!

Give it a shot!

thanks apostolic4life! You made me feel much better. And thanks to everyone who has taken the time to post!

We really enjoyed our dinner at Coral Reef in August! Our server, Tony, was FANTASTIC as was our food.

The mahi mahi was excellent and one of the best entrees I have ever had at Disney.

We went in Jan. The food was GREAT! The service was also excellent! We got a table next to the tank and my DD (5) LOVED it. Being able to find the fish made the wait during our meal go very fast. I do think the highlight for her was when we spoted the divers in the tank. She LOVED that one too!!!!

This is on my list of favorite spots in WDW.

I booked a res at Coral Reef for lunch. What does everyone think? Good idea or should i change it to dinner?

I ate there once, and am going to eat there again. The food is good, nothing too spectacular, but it's decent and filling. The atmosphere is lovely there though, and is the main reason for my return there, that, and I have the deluxe DDP on my next trip.

We are going for the 1st time in may and cant wait.... :) we have it booked for a dinner...

I think people need to remember it is not a signature resturant

A YES vote here, we have been many times, sat inmany locations throughout this lovely restaurant. Have always had good food, will return many more times I'm sure.

This was one of our favorite meals on our trip last year. We'll be there again in August!

We enjoyed it the previous trip for lunch and just last week for dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meals very much, friendly server and great atmosphere. My Alaskan King Crab legs were plentiful!

Allyson :)
