Babysitting my Mom's dog, and she hasn't stopped barking since she got here!

She's inside barking, outside barking, just non-stop barking! Mom forgot to bring her bark collar.

The neighbors are going to call the cops, I just know it.

peanut butter and duct tape works wonders ;)

You might be kidding, but I'm really going to try it soon. ;)

She just won't stop! And it's that high-pitched, shrill terrier bark that goes right through you. :earseek:

And we cut down the big tree in the yard...

I'll have to find another one. :earboy2:
shovels and mace work wonders.

Just kidding, but try giving him peanut butter. Seriously. They love it and can't really bark with their teeth glued together.

two words.
Water Bottle.

Seriously, it ticks them off but it works. Not in their eyes of course but just at them.

This is my all purpose shutup/getoffthefurniture/goaway tool. Works on cats too. ( now if it just worked on husbands Id be set ;) JK!)

I know that bark well. Will she respond to a squirt bottle or a shake can? Or try redirecting her with a toy, a treat, scritches, or a walk.
I don't know how long you're sitting but dogs usually take 3-4 days to get used to a new environment.

I'm back - and I tried the squirt bottle - she runs away so fast, I can't get it close enough to scare her with it.

I tried the peanut butter - she won't eat it.

This dog is hopeless - and STILL barking!

My mom will be here at 9:00 to get her - and not a moment too soon. :earseek:

try a water gun. You can get a really good reach on one of those. ;)

when my dog was a puppy, we used a glass jar with some coins in it..we shook it and yelled no..it worked as far as i rmemeber lol

You don't have to shoot THE DOG. just sorta close. ;) but your neighbors WOULD call the police if they heard a mad dog and a gun shot! :rotfl:

Well.... I don't know....

After three hours of barking, they might come over and bring me a beer and shake my hand. :teeth:

The dog may just be missing your mother. Do you have anything with your mother's scent on it? Like a pillow case or a t-shirt or something? If so, try giving one of these items to the dog, it may calm down. :paw:

I wish that was all it is. She does this at home too. That's why she wears the bark collar most of the time. She's just a chronic barker. She almost lost her happy home because of it a while back, but the bark collar saved her. I just wish I had it here now - she just won't stop!!!!! :earseek:
