Enough!

Oh wait...maybe not.

NEW YORK - John McCain is mocked as an out-of-touch, out-of-date computer illiterate in a television commercial out Friday from Barack Obama as the Democrat begins his sharpest barrage yet on McCain's long Washington career.

In other news:
issues.

“In recent weeks, John McCain has shown that he is willing to go into the gutter to win this election… This election is too important and the challenges too big to spend the next 54 days talking about trivial non-issues.”

Platform issue #1: No computer illiterates. It's the most important thing we face as a nation.

BTW, here's a little something for y'all who are in the trenches on the other threads.....something to cleanse your palates ;)

Yummo! I had raspberry sorbet last nite.

Best part about hurricanes is clearing out the freezer......and eating to bursting!

We have a generator but it won't run 2 fridges, 1 freezer, A/C TV & (most importantly) the blender. So, sacrifices must be made

I have 4 racks of ribs on the smoker, 10lbs of venison sausage & 4 beer-butt chickens.

We gonna eat!

Okay, beer butt chickens made me laugh. Go Bobby Flay Man. :lmao:

Stay safe and eat well, Mr. Man.

Oh, I meant to say earlier; didn't you guys get a kick out of McCain last night, poking a little fun both at himself and at the people who go on and ON about his age, by saying that older people still have something to offer (something to that effect) and then pretending to nod off in the middle of the interview? The audience laughed, and I laughed out loud too. What a refreshing contrast to BO and his whiny complaining!

are you guys watching McCain on The View? He is doing great. What a great American!

Boy, Mr Man - this tells me a lot about you -- you're facing a hurricane but still have the presence of mind to cook some great grub [hope Breezy doesn't get jealous!].

Glad I'm on your side and thanks for letting us know about this - we're praying mighty hard for our Texas cousins, do you need any Tennessee volunteers to help batten [sp?] down the hatches with you?

We are good but thanks. The weather is beautiful right now, but wind is picking up a bit.

Lots of Tennessee names on the plaque at The Alamo (we remember that too). :thumbsup2 :)

So...you guys think there is any chance of BO taking McCain up on his offer once again last night of a townhall debate (He offered twice again last night). I'm thinking no. He's WAY TO CHICKEN and this would really highlight his inexperience and lack of leadership.

He just offered this on The View as well. He wants them both to come on together. I think in a live situation McCain would beat his pants off.

I caught some of it at 11pm, I just couldn't make it through the whole thing though (I get up at 5:30am). I would love to see that though. Is it on youtube or does anyone have a link?

Stay safe Mr Man!

I'm gonna have to youtube that forum last night, with all those great comments.

I did watch GMA's clips of SP's interview [oops, using her initials - I'm not being sexist, am I? just checkin'] - looks like Charlie Gibson really resented the intimation by critics that an interview with him would be nothing but softballs and recipe-sharing so he seemed to let her have it! But she kept truckin -- good for her. I got aggravated at the 'fact-check' afterwards - that she flip-flipped on the environmental issue and on the fact that other VP nominees have had the same [lack of] international experience as she. Grrrr.....they took a comment [out of context I'm sure] where she had said in the past that we're don't have be like Al Gore and all gloom-and-doom about global warming and now they're saying she's flip-flopped by saying that, yes we've been irresponsible about the environment and need to be more careful. Where's the flip-flop?

About the VPs' international experience -- they countered what she had said by highlighting VPs selected because they had more foreign relations experience than their running mates [i.e. Cheney, Gore, HW Bush] in that area. Funny that they mentioned Dan Quayle - weren't the libs always dismissing him as being inexperienced?

I know this was discussed in the other thread but I couldn't stomach going in there --- just had to vent!

BTW, I  Glenn Beck.

Hurricane Tailgating! - Texas style! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: Whodda thunk it. :thumbsup2

Stay safe!!

Washington, at least the less white-collar parts tends to identify with Alaska in part because of our natural resource industries and the tendency of a higher percentage of people to be outdoors types than Wall Street types.
At least those other than King and Pierce county.
It's nice to know that maybe Tink and I aren't stuck in ultra-liberal hell after all.
No, we are. :lmao:

When the goin' gets tough, the Texans BBQ! :woohoo: :thumbsup2

At least those other than King and Pierce county.

Even a few bastions in Pierce and King. Don't forget, Enumclaw is King county, and Buckley, Graham, McKenna, Roy, etc. are all Pierce County. Those areas still have a lot of loggers, brush pickers, etc., and plenty who hunt for food. Gig Harbor, as yup as it has become, still has a solid old-time base of commercial fishermen too. Not that all of those people are necessarily Republican or right-leaning, but they do have a tendency to align themselves much more firmly with "hick hunters" than slick politicians.

I just watched John McCain on the View. He did great. Did anyone else notice that Barbara would not face him or look at him when speaking to him? I was surprised to see Joy behaving herself, and treating him w/ respect. Barbara was the worst. I wish they'd put Barack on the spot w/ difficult questions. They worshipped him when he was on the show though. Hopefully Americans will notice the bias and take that into account.

I cannot even bear to watch the Charlie Gibson interview. I saw clips of it, and couldn't believe his blatant distain.
