:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: You do know that Obama's Secret Service batallion is probably tracking you down right now for daring to question anything about B&MO. You must have been out the day they sent out the list of topics that were off limits. :rotfl: :rotfl:

It's beyond me how people can honestly think that this man will protect constitutional rights when he is already setting limits and he hasn't even been elected (well - I think he has elected himself in his mind).

Yep, he's a legend in his own mind.:lmao: :rotfl2:

darnit... Someone thinks they can hypnotize us! Please, STAY AWAY FROM THE KOOLAID!

OMG! It brought back so many memories, till I saw someone making a fool of themselves!

Too funny!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not usually much for political discussion because I'm always afraid I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about. But I do like to read a lot.
Thats ok, most of us don't know what we're talking about either. Just ask any Obama supporter. But at least we have fun with it!

(That and lots of food and drink gets us through the day) :cool2:

A&E has a program on right now, "The Day the Towers Fell." I have a hard time watching, but I am. My husband was GLUED to the news networks for weeks and weeks after 9/11, and it was all just too heartbreaking for me. I will never, never forget, but I have a terrible time "going back."

I also have positive memories of 9/11 and the days and weeks following, though. My house and some of our neighbors had flags up every day, but on that day and the weeks that followed, everyone in our neighborhood had their flags out. One of my most vivid memories of that day (one of the good ones, that is) will always be looking out and seeing my neighbor across the street lean out his attic window and unfurl a flag that reached the ground. I remember our local blood banks asking on radio and television for people NOT to come, because they were overwhelmed and had no more storage available. I also remember people being kinder to one another, more patient in traffic, smiling (although rather wan, sad smiles) at strangers...I think just generally appreciating one another and the specialness of being an American for awhile. Sometimes I wish we could go back to that sense of solidarity and fierce love for one another, without the need for a horrible tragedy to get us there.

Welcome Just4now. I'm another one like you; interested but not super knowledgeable. I hang out here for the food and companionship, and the people here are very nice. They allow you to have an opinion without supporting links, and without having to be a political genius. :)
There was some good. I don't remember if I used to tell my children I loved them everytime we seperated at that point, but I know we have ever since then, each and every time. Even just going around the corner to the store.

I remember how quiet the city of Chicago was. Thousands of people going to work but no one talking. No one talking on the train.

I remember Christmas decorations coming up earlier that year, and no one complaining about it. I think we all needed a little spirit at that time.

I'm not a cryer either, but thinking about that day always gets me.

Two well known community organizers and two well known democrats.

Looks like Rev Al is reading a text from the O campaign and finding it as funny as us.

My friend texted me today and noticed that even though it's 9/11, not one flag is at half-staff. Told her that here in the liberal bastion of western WA I am not surprised.

I'm watching the Charlie Gibson interview with Sarah Palin right now. Wow! I love her answers. Clear, concise, and to the point! Compare her to BO being interviewed by BOR. It's like night and day. I haven't heard a single "err" or "umm" come out of SP's mouth yet.

Oooh! Me! I went to the Puyallup fair in 1983 when I was stationed at Ft. Lewis.
1983?! :rotfl:
Ft. Lewis is here still as well as McChord AFB. Hooah!

Haven't been to the fair yet. Dh has tickets, though.

I loved Ft. Lewis. I knew career soldiers who would pull strings to stay there as long as they could. I knew one who was there for eight years. He only left because he got orders for Hawaii and didn't mind leaving one nice location for another :)

My FIL went from Ft. Lewis to Ft. Shafter. He's now at Ft. Somethingorother in VA; he's the TRADOC chaplain.
I don't really like WA but I'm at southern girl. We moved up here to be close to MIL when FIL went to Iraq and got stuck here when they PCS'd to Hawaii.

I'm joining the Army or Air Force when I can get my BSN. Gotta get ASN/ADN first, though.
