:goodvibes Hi everyone I haven't been able to get on here much because school has been really hectic. It's crunch time as we have finals in two weeks. Bleh.

SD- I am so happy that you were able to convince your dad. We visited the WL last year when we ate at Whispering Canyon and it was stunning. When are you going, again?

I've seen welfare abuse in my time, including people in my family. It's reprehensible but it happens. Sorry, people.
And don't tell me I'm not a Christian because I don't believe people should be taking advantage of welfare.

It originally started as a joke. Do I think only welfare recipients will buy it? No. My good friend is a single mom on welfare and can't stand bo.
Do I think only poor people will buy it? No, I'm sure some hollyweird idiots will buy it.

I think all of us have seen abuse, the other side just wants to pretend it doesn't happen.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh....who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Spongebob Squarepants!Absorbent and yellow and porous is he! Spongebob Squarepants! If nautical nonsense be something you wish! Spongebob Squarepants! Then drop on the deck and flop like a fish! Ready? Spongebob Squarepants Spongebob Squarepants Spongebob Squarepants Spongebob Squarepaaaaaaants!

"Yes we can!" sell plates to people who will use their hard-earned welfare money to purchase a cheap-o plate and it'll sit on a dresser gathering dust until they have no clean dishes in the house because they used insulin money for something other than dishwashing liquid and so they have to grab it and use it for chicken nuggets and then bo gets ketchup on his face; not just regular ketchup but equate ketchup from walmart of all places!
It'd be a sad ending for something so promising. *sniff*

Sorry to interupt again but I just want to remind everyone this wasn't about welfare abuse, which certainly does take place. It was about the above post which suggested that the people who support Obama and will buy (not my cup of tea) the commemorative plates are low life welfare frauds...Now back to your regularly scheduled program..:flower3:

hi again! i mean high again?

And may I remind poster who posted that it was not stated that only people who are on welfare would buy commemorative plates.

And for the record, it wasn't about them committing fraud. It was about fanatical support of bo, and bo and those who make those plates/coins trying to convince people that they can do nothing better with that needed money than to buy bo related crap they don't need.

It's not funny if I have to explain it. :3dglasses

Personally, I would rather wait to see if the man actually accomplishes anything before I commemorate a simple election with a plate.

seriously lakeariel!!! talk about killing a little joke!!!! (your avatar is absolutely darling, however. sooooo cute.)

If we did that there would be no plates. Or coins. Or t-shirts. Or posters. Or columns. Or books. Or amusement park bo rides. Or...

SORCERERDONALD!!!! i am listening to the tower of terror loop you just requested!! isn't it fabu?

I almost posted five times to that thread. I can't! I keep reading the same three hate filled pages over and over again. I come here and WHAM, more hate left in a drive by, yet enough words are left out that it almost makes sense.

My SIL had her leg shot off by a guy in Detroit that said she was one of those whiteys on TV. Racism goes BOTH ways.. there are idiots on BOTH SIDES.
Yes, shot off, by a shotgun at point blank range. It never made the news. Even when we pressed the news organizations to put it there. Seems suburban white girl getting shot at in Detroit makes for bad news. THIS Pisses me off... the color of the guy? nope.

now i'm not sure, but it seems to me if you can't figure out the "fill in the darned circle" thing on your own, that perhaps you can't understand what you're even voting for, but maybe that is evil, vile, hateful, and bigoted. dunno.

I know I might be alone in this opinion, but I think all the advancements that we have made in voting technology since the 2000 election have been a waste of money. The punch card system would have been fine if we educated people to pull out your ballot, hold it up to the light, and look for any hanging chads that might mess up the count. All you had to do is find your candidate and punch the hole next to their name. So easy and idiot should be able to do it.

Since 2000 where I live, we have gone through two different electronic voting systems and now we are on our second different optical scan system. The touch screens had fraud concerns and also went out of calibration often enough to cause concern, plus the votes were stored on memory cards that could be tampered with. The optical scan ballots have fraud concerns as anyone with a pencil can fill in circles since no machine is needed and the votes are stored on memory cards so they can be tampered with to.

It just seems because of a few idiots we have spent millions of dollars to get to a point that our elections are more fraud filled than ever.

Even though it is your right to vote, I think you also have the responsibility to be an informed voter that has a minimum of intelligence and common sense. If you are too dumb to fill in a circle or punch a hole in a ballot, you have lost your right. Many people have fought and died to give you that right so act like you deserve it!

:thumbsup2

Hmmm, so maybe they should go ahead and change the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to the Wizarding World of BO at Universal's Islands of Adventure now?! It thought they announced that on Nov. 5. You know, there's going to be a castle where you enter, tell BO your problems, and they magically disappear. I hear BO will also replace Zoltar to tell you your fortune: the cost is your vote in 2012 -- it doesn't matter how old you are or if you're a citizen or even an animated character. Throughout BO land will be sublimal messages: Democrats bring Utopia. Republicans are Fascists! They'll have games: Throw balls at GWB plates to win your full-sized inflatable BO -- everyone wins, just for trying, even if you don't break a plate. The possibilities really are endless. Universal should look into this now and get in on the BO marketing opportunities.

*backing a way from the CB for a bit* Did anyone see the bat signal today?

Emergency bat signal needed!!!

Bush derangement syndrome is not curable. It progresses into Obama Delusional Syndrome. I hope its not terminal. :scared1:

Michelle, if you don't get enough plates, when we get our plates years from now I will give ours to you!

NOOOOOOO! :scared1: How dare you threaten me like that! I thought we were friends!

We're not allowed to use dishes at their house. The stepmonsterinlaw says we might break one. Same lady who said her dogs had to get used to my newborn so I shoudl just put a two week old infant on the ground. Don't worry, she didn't raise anyone, they were all raised and out of the house by the time she came around.

I'm so excited because dsil is doing Thanksgiving. We all bring stuff anyways, but this way we get to eat on plates with silverware! stepmonsterinlaw makes us wash the plastic cutlery! We'll have the same food as always, since we've always brought the food to their house, just new location with real stuff! WOOO HOOO!

I remember the first time we went over there for Christmas, years ago. As soon as we got out of the car we heard, "Why are you dressed up?" She told us that since Hannakuh wasn't important to her that she didn't think Christmas should be important to us. *eye roll*

Heyyyyy. I have a stepmonster too, the evil wench. We're allowed to use plates and cups, but we have to use them on the patio because if we ate inside my kids might drop a crumb on the floor. Obviously we only visit in the summer... She freaked out on me for giving my daughter a bath, too. It gets water on the tile.

Humphrey Bear, I'm with you. If you're too stupid to handle punching a chad or blackening a circle (we fill in the middle of little arrows with a nifty black marker here) then you have no business voting because you are clearly not able to grasp the issues either. The issues are more complicated than blackening a circle is.

Disneycrazymom, I'm so sorry that happened to your son. My daughter called me today to tell me that someone smashed out the back window of her car. :( It was my husband's car, he basically gave it to her when he left for Iraq (she got to officially have it as soon as she could pay the insurance, so she's had it since August). Poor kid. She only his liability insurance because of her age...insurance is so screaming expensive. I feel awful for her. Of course, nice mommy that I am, I used to opportunity to reiterate my firm belief that they need to get OUT of the neighborhood they are living in.

I'm sorry to hear that too!

1. you're not a spoiled brat
2. putting together all the information and doing all the research for the trip was a very sweet thing to do.
3. it is okay to feel disappointed...you wanted the trip to be special and different.
4. sorry you didn't like riverside
5. i hope you end up going and having a really wonderful time.
6. what is the job you have lined up? are you excited about it?
Thanks, wonder. I'm *hoping* I'll be placed at either the elementary or high school level. No guarantees I will even be placed though, since I'll also be competing against a new batch of applicants. There should be at least 13-15 openings in the area that I'm aware of though, as opposed to a whopping four this past year.

Since Debbie requested...:goodvibes

Here is Jack in his polar fleece (which is needed, as it was -8 this morning)

...and "au naturel"...

Adorable! He's got such expressive eyes. :rotfl2: at the Sully pic.

does everybody else see the same commercials i do while watching fox? these HEINOUS gold coins and plates?!?!?!?:scared1: :scared1:
can't believe it, "yes you can own a piece of history..." paleeze!
They have been on my TV almost nonstop. Even during my soap opera, GH!

You are not being spoiled. If you are going to spend a lot of money on a vacation, it should be exactly how you want it. It's hard to compromise on that.

I was under the impression that only certain rooms are Nemo themed at CBR. I imagine they are highly desired by people with kids, so maybe if you put in a request to NOT be in that section it would be easily honored. Call them and see what they have to say about that. Good luck!

The Mod issue is moot for us now, but from what I've read all rooms at CBR are or will shortly be Nemo themed or Pirate themed. Pirates does fit, but we have no interest in those rooms. Don't get me started again on the Nemo ones. :rotfl:

Hey, who do y'all this vote was intended for?
plymouth1.JPG

Al Franken is challenging this ballot.

Yes, because that's clearly an intended vote for one of the other 2 people.

Here's my "Trinity"

allpicts002.jpg

Also adorable! Such a sweet face.

As a court reporter, and a Citizen! I am very disturbed by Obama promise to put judges in the Supreme Court who will be "more sympathetic" while coming to decisions. SYMPATHY HAS NO PLACE IN LAW!!!!!!! JUSTICE IS BLIND!!!!!!
I can see it now: Tom shot Mary. But Tom's gonna get off with a slap on the wrist because, you see, Tom grew up in foster care and the system has let him down, so he's a product of his environment and he didn't realize right from wrong. Mary's family, her husband and two little babies? Well, they can go straight to hell because, after all, Mary's husband has a great job and he's making $150, 000 a year and he can afford to hire a full-time nanny. But that poor Tom, he will only suffer more if he is incarcerated.

Yup, that's what we need. Sympathy coming from the bench...

Good luck with school, Corryn! I agree with you about justice being blind. Coulter's book "Godless" has a section on the usual liberal approach to the justice system/criminals, with lots of examples. Very enlightening, to say the least. :rolleyes1

Okay, can I do a totally off topic vent? Totally off topic. Oh, and yes, I'll probably offend someone here (or someone who lurks here) so here goes....

Why does my mother ask me for detailed Christmas lists for me, DH and the kids and then buys nothing from them? She's offended if we give the same lists to other family members, so whatever is on the lists we give her we are guaranteed not to get? Do you know how hard it is to make up several lists for various members of the family and make sure there are no repeats on lists (MIL can't have the same list that my mom gets).

I could care less if I get gifts for Christmas, but last year I made an effort to make up a list of things I really DID want. I didn't get a single thing off the list - and these were all easy things - like DVDs or Soundtracks or a jewelry box. Nothing special.

Why ask for a list if you're not going to give anything off of it?

No flaming from me. I agree with you. A nutty relative who shall remain nameless always liked to give stuff with the tags cut off and no receipt. If it didn't fit, she would say she would take it back and exchange it for something else she thought you would like. And that's among the most minor and trivial complaints I had about her. I am glad said person no longer lives near me. Ahem.

Alright, y'all are going to have to stay on top of some the nutcase OSers. I'm leaving to attend my Mom's retirement celebration that her coworkers are putting on for her. She's retiring next week after 40+ years of teaching elementary school.
She has my admiration! Most of my work has been at the ES level. It's not easy.

Anyway, I took my daughter to Chick-Fil-A. To make a long story short, she streaked through Chick-Fil-A after going potty. :scared1: Fortunately, it was after the lunch rush so the place was fairly empty, but still.
 :rotfl2:

maybe we should start having voting classes for all those disenfranchised "people" who can't figure out how to fill in a circle. it could be a five day course, from 9 - 4, and it could cover the filling in of circles of all sizes using crayons, pencils, magic markers, and ball point pens. that would be in the morning. in the afternoon, they could advance to coloring in other shapes, beginning with ovular shapes.

now i'm not sure, but it seems to me if you can't figure out the "fill in the darned circle" thing on your own, that perhaps you can't understand what you're even voting for, but maybe that is evil, vile, hateful, and bigoted. dunno.
The first thing I thought in terms of that ballot was it could've been filled out by a disabled person. My grandmother has bad tremors in her writing hand and arm, and she thankfully has touch screen voting. If she had to fill in a circle, it very well could end up looking like that ballot picture.

I checked a bunch of dates and the only ones in April and May that came up that had a Standard View room at WL (read: cheaper view room) was at the end of April. We just finally finished booking it! :yay:

SORCERERDONALD!!!! i am listening to the tower of terror loop you just requested!! isn't it fabu?

I could barely hear any of it! :sad1: I just endured almost an hour long fight with the WDW website's reservation system. It randomly started saying there were no rooms available in all of WDW from April to May.
