The Mod's are nice - and seriously, how much time do you really spend in the room? I like to stay at POFQ. It'll be great. You're at DISNEY! :cool1:

k...i get it now. i usually stay at mods because i'm almost always at the parks. i'm tired when i get back. as long as there is a nice hot shower and a comfy bed, i'm good. and my eyes are closed when i'm asleep, so i don't see much.

i have stayed at AKL and loved it, but when i left i thought i might not spend my money that way again.

I've never stayed at any of the resorts. And the last time I went was for two days in '99 with my uncle who has MS and we did nothing but sit on benches all day.

There was a plan to take family Christmas '09 in Hawaii, but it may not happen if IL's can't get their timeshare. And if it doesn't, I suggested that we go to WDW in Sept '09 or Jan '10. :goodvibes

ooh...please tell us all about the weather, the xmas decor, your favorite new-found treats, etc.

The weather - we left last Wednesday from a chilly 48 in the 'burgh to a sticky 84 in Orlando. It stayed that way until Saturday. We had rain on Friday night but were still able to see the shuttle launch light up the night sky. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday highs were only in the mid-upper 60s but to this Pennsylvanian, it was very pleasant weather for November.

Xmas decor - MK was all decked out and WOW! It was neat! I wonder if the other parks do more decorating closer to Thanksgiving. :confused3 Shop windows and stuff were done in the other parks. AK had some neat garlands up, Epcot had a neat tree right at the end of the bridge to WS and a pretty tree in front of the American Adventure. DHS had some stuff too, but none were to the scale of MK's Main Street. Resorts (Wilderness Lodge, the Contemporary, Grand Floridian & Pop Century are the only ones I saw) had Christmas merchandise displays in their shops, but no all out trees or what not. GF did have the gingerbread house though.

As for new stuff - My whole group agreed on this - Toy Story Midway Mania is fun!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Two thumbs up, way up! I tried ToT for the first time and loved it. I even got myself a new pin to mark the occassion.:) We also got my 5 year old DD on Test Track and Soarin'. Mixed reviews - she hated TT (we got great video of her screaming on it) and loved Soarin'.
I did get to have my chilled strawberry soup - I specifically scheduled 1900 Park Fare so I could have that.:upsidedow

It was great!

Ugh. That doesn't sound like a fun day at all. I hope you feel better soon, and your time at the dentist is quick and painless.

Don't worry about the house. Take it easy, and rest up. Hopefully you'll feel back to yourself again in no time.

:grouphug:

Thanks. :) The dentist wasn't bad at all. I have a wonderful dentist. He's probably about 15 years older than me, a nice conservative Christian family man, very good at what he does and extremely sensitive to people who are scared of the dentist. If I blink he stops and asks if I'm okay. Love the man. The crown was being placed, and the tooth wasn't hurting in the first place (it was crazed with fractures, but not hurting) so other than a couple of "ouch that metal tool touched a filling" twinges it was completely painless.

This may be a widly unpopular opinon, but I think the MIL is a good idea
She would be a constant in the girls lives.
With mom and dad gone on all kind of polital trips, they need someone to take care of them.

Nope, not at all. Other than having a hard time resisting jokes (because, after all, MILs are rich ground for jokes, especially the idea of living with one) I think most people here---if not all---agree with you.

I don't want to say what the problem is out here (PM me if you want to know if you pray for things specifically) but DSIL needs a lot of prayers right now.

You got 'em.

Hi Michelle, that's me today exactly -- except my house is only in a little mess and I don't have to get a crown. But I am home from work sick and my chest does hurt. And I am cranky but I don't know if that's from the OS or because I'm sick.

In my case, I think it's a little of both. I'm a pretty healthy person, and it irritates me to be sick. And certain OS...well...'nuff said. I'm kinda glad to hear that the chest pain seems to go with this bug (sorry, don't mean I'm glad you hurt) because it was worrying me. In the past that pain has meant "Hi, you've got bronchitis and in a week or less it will be pneumonia, have fun with those steroids." :sad2:

My feeling is he has no experience himself so he's using the Clinton WH grads to fill his (hugely wide) gap.

Yeah, I'm going with that answer.

probably not...he has hardly ever worked anywhere. in four years of being an attorney, he only booked about 2000 billable hours.

Didn't a good portion of that include time spent suing banks for being culturally insensitive by not handing out enough unsecured loans? Or were those the unbillable hours? Or am I snorting too much of that kitty litter and just wrong entirely?

Ooops. One person has already missed the point and doesn't find it funny. But, I'm beginning to wonder if liberals have a sense of humor? I've really found none this election.

As Charade said, their sense of humor only extends to making fun of Christians, conservatives, military, Republican presidents...got the trend? And no (special disclaimer for the lurkers) I don't think it is hypocritical to say so given that the joke in question involves a Dem, because I would have thought it was a great comeback for a Rep Senator as well. It's just a witty response.

aw!!!!!!

so do i understand that you were hoping to stay at a deluxe (which one?) and your dad wants moderate? are you NOT going now?!?!?

Okay I read it and assumed the moderates were full. You aren't seriously upset because you'd have to stay at a mod are you? Cuz I'm gonna have to say that I've never stayed on-site at all, and Disney is Disney. :wizard: We've done the $40 a night hotels, mostly. All you're gonna do is sleep and shower there. As long as the door locks, the water works, and you are alone in the room (no critters) you're good!

Well, I see that the Obama Supporters lurking on here "loved" my little joke that the tag fairy is "liberal" :lmao: Oh wait! Wait! It wasn't a joke I was making after reading someone's tag on another thread.... it's a conspiracy I tell you! Conspiracy! :rotfl2:

Yes, I’ve been a lurking tonight. :rolleyes1 Decided if I was going to step out on the CB, I might as well…. :teeth:

Wait! Someone on here has a blurry photo of Bigfoot having tea with Elvis?!?! :yay: Where? Where? Darn, I missed seeing that one! Whoever you are, can you please repost it? Thank you. :flower3:

(lurking.. lurking.. lurking..)

Oh, wow. They’re lovin’ my posts on this thread tonight. :thumbsup2 Sorry, I still question the OS’s sense of humor. ::yes:: Although – you OS lurkers out there, you – jumping off cliffs just isn’t the thing any longer. Geeze. That was so yesterday! Come on, come on, get with the program now.

Oh, and I totally disagree with a particular OS’s definition of a liberal. ::yes:: Sorry, but I do. The only liberal I've met that has a great sense of humor is DISUNC. I've found him to be an oddity (that needs to hurry up and finish redoing his house so that he can make us laugh some more over here)

OK. Done lurking now. I'll move back in over here where it's safe. Although, the OS gave me a good laugh tonight. Thank you!

Maybe I've just had too much cough syrup tonight... :rolleyes1

Maybe he's using so many clinton people because his close friends really ARE terrorists or people with bad backgrounds? hee hee

I've been to all the mods, I love AKL, but I've spent significant time at GFR and the poly due to great friends in high places. Honestly, some of my best trips have been those trips I was only able to take by cutting wayyy back. My favorite mod is POR, with POFQ a close second, especially if you have anyone in your party who can't walk a lot.

Honestly? I think some of them are smart enough to know that Obama's reaction to all of this is suspicious. I mean, seriously, when McCain was asked of his birth certificate he handed it right over. No trying to block things in the court and trying to seal his records. Obama's actions are very suspicious and I think enough of the OS realize that and are concerned that Obama is hiding something so they also don’t want Obama to have to reveal his birth certificate records.

Thank you!

It was Al-Zawahri (aka: Al-Qaida No. 2) and he called Obama a House Negro. I was listening to Andrew Wilcow today and he said that if Obama had a sense of humor he'd say "No, I'm a Senate Negro.. I posted that on the thread but for some crazy reason I doubt the liberals will find that funny. But I did. :teeth:

I thought the joke was funny, too! It goes right along with the oval office being ovular. As far as being called names... it was a terrorist who said it! GET A GRIP!! They don't like us! They're not going to change their mind because someone new was elected! Bo isn't God, Allah, or the Messiah.

Michelle and Dolce>> I hope you both feel better soon!

i have stayed at AKL and loved it, but when i left i thought i might not spend my money that way again.

Which is why I stay value and would just take my tent and camp if my husband was a camper. I just don't see the point in shelling out more bucks for a bed and a shower if I'm at the parks all the time. It's Disney! You'll still be at Disney no matter where you stay!:goodvibes

Maybe he's using so many clinton people because his close friends really ARE terrorists or people with bad backgrounds? hee hee

There you go being hateful again...

The thing is.. Obama really is connected to many questionable people. This isn't a smear - it's the truth! You can find news articles on his connections with these people. But the OS, when it's brought up, flip-out and go off about how "hateful" we are.

They need to put the blame where it belongs: Obama. If he doesn't want people to talk about how a guy from Saudi Arabia paid his way through college or how he went to Pakistan in 1981 when American’s were on a travel restriction to that country, or how he worked with Bill Ayers in Chicago back in the late 1980's when Bill formed the ABC group and brought Obama on board, or when Bill and Obama sat on the Woods Fund board together and took many retreats together and whatnot, or when Bill appointed Obama as executive over the Annenberg trust (Bill's baby that he formed) or when Bill launched Obama's political career out of the living room of his own house... or how Tony Rezko gave the Obama's a sweet deal on their mansion, or how Obama managed to direct money to Rezko and another Rezko type guy in Chicago for the housing districts while Rezko and the other guy pocketed the money and the residents live in poverty…. I could go on. The point is, this is factual information that can, and has, been researched.

If the OS don’t want to hear about it – than Obama shouldn’t have done it.

I agree about not spending a ton on the room if you are going to the parks everyday. We like Swan/Dolphin the best. Great location, teacher discounts and points! My next choice is one of the values. We can get 2 rooms for the price of 1 and everyone gets a bed and we have 2 baths. Way more comfortable for our family than spending more and being in one room. If we are going somewhere else and planning a lot of down time I love a nice resort (like at the beach ) but at Disney it is always about the park time for us.

You would think they'd have better things to do...unless, they are trying to learn a thing or two....:rolleyes1 I don't call it lurking....I think it's more like "monitoring". They want to catch us doing something naughty. Do you think the edible panty thing was a no-no? :teeth:

YES! If you can snag a discount at the Swan or Dolphin definitely go with that!! The beds really are heavenly! The grounds are lovely, plenty of places to eat, and the best pool on property! *ok, I've never been to SAB but my kids aren't little anymore so I'll take the Grotto pool and their extra food and drink locations outside!

Maybe every night we should put on a stage show and charge admission?:cheer2:

:scared: I'm sorry, but that is just not a pretty image. Maybe because the first thing that popped into my head was cabaret, and I don't think that would show some of our...assets...to their best advantage.

:rotfl2:

For those of us who are white, we are in no position to consider anything amusing. It is better to just assume that everything has the potential to be offensive to someone else, and so we should just all cower in the corner and walk on eggshells. Yeah, screw that noise.

You're right. Cabaret is totally wrong for us!

OK this is an honest question. I don't understand. Why is BO choosing so many Clinton white house people? Does he have no one that he has worked with to give these jobs to? I may just not understand politics or maybe there are not as many as it seems. Thanks for the help!

I think The One had no idea what he was getting himself into. This man has absolutely no executive experience and all of the sudden here he is, Leader of the Free World. He doesn't have a clue what to do. He's chosing all of these former Clinton people because they have BTDT.

Either that, or he owes them. I think he owes many. He didn't get to where he is now on his own merit, that's for sure.

Oh, he owes them.....they know where the bodies are buried...or maybe, where his REAL birth certificate is...
