Oh I don't know. If he proves to be a black Jimmy Carter, Mickey Mouse would be able to beat him.

I believe the swing to the left stops here. In 2 more years, they aren't going to be able to say "it's all Bush's fault". Quite a few of those seats in the House and Senate will be ripe for the picking. Probably not enough to get a majority, but some should swing back to the Republican side.

Ha! Are you kidding? Everything bad that happens for the next 10 years is going to be Bush's fault in their eyes. Obama already said in his speech that it will take him more than one term to fix it all. And if we get attacked again, that will be Bush's fault for not sitting down and having a chat with them. Whatever.

I feel so much better now....just knowing ACORN and Soros are running Minnesota's recount.:rolleyes1

I am so behind on this thread that I am not even going to try to catch up!

My fundraiser last night went well! Our auction alone made around $1100 which is a huge amount for our little group! I literally was on my feet for 12 hours yesterday, but it was all worth it! :thumbsup2

Way to go Nanner!

Hey, have you guys been to Glenn's site. Interesting reading. ok, in the spirit of unity........ (deep sigh), I will take off my Ann Coulter quote. Just me talking..........I really don't have the heart to treat Pres.-elect Obama the way the libs treated Bush. I just can't stomach it. My daddy raised me different. I'm not saying Ann is totally disrepectful...........she has a great point in that quote.......turnabout is fairplay.......but I want to put my best foot forward.

http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/17858/
I agreed with this part.......

GLENN: Because, Joe, if I believe in our system, if I believe in our Constitution, which I map to, if I believe in it, this is the system that we created. Now, if you want to change the system, well, then that would put you kind of in the category that Barack Obama is in.

I do believe in our system and our constitution and if I say he is not my president (which I haven't said), then I am throwing out the baby with the bath water.

Just an interesting read.

Also..........the interview with Steve Doocy (I just love that guy) was good. Can't wait to see Glenn on with him on Tuesday. I loved this part.....

http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/196/17921/?ck=1

GLENN: Thank you, sir. Thank you very much. It is -- you know what? I'm actually in your building now officially for the first time Monday. I'm going to be with O'Reilly and then I think I'm with you guys Tuesday morning.

DOOCY: Oh, that's fantastic.

GLENN: It's -- you know, it's a different world. It is a different world.

DOOCY: Yeah. For you it's got to feel like a jail break coming over to Fox.

BbbWWwwwaaaaaaa :lmao: :lmao:

We ask why it's taking so long for a memorial service for hussein's 'typical white grandmother'.
Some on their side think Bush and the government orchestrated 9/11.
Who are the whackjob conspiracy theorists? :rotfl:

Like those stickers on eBay. :thumbsup2

You know being the suspicious person that I am, when I heard that man's grandmother was ill, I almost posted, "Watch she'll just happen to die the day before the election" but I thought nah, that's just not nice.???!!!

IMHO, you guys are setting yourself up for a big disappointment if you think Palin will be a viable candidate in 2012 up against a rerun of Obama.

]]

I don't think that she'll be the candidate either. She should run for the Senate, serve a couple of terms and then run.

Speaking of disappointment, we aren't going to Disney after all. We talked about it and it doesn't look like it will be a wise decision considering the economy and all.

I am so disappointed. :(

 You're making a responsible decision but being a grownup deifinitely sucks sometimes.

Maybe, she died while he was visiting...or maybe, before he got there?? Who knows ....

sorry to be rude or conspiratorial, but the second i found out his grandmother had died, i just figured she had been in the freezer for two weeks and they were waiting for the day before the election to get sympathy votes.

i know, i know....evil....

This happened in 1994 - the pendulum swang back to the right in the mid-terms.

Again, a lot could happen in 2 and 4 years. Could SP be viable? I don't know but apparently the libs and certain moderate factions of the Repubs think so. I'd like to think we're causing enough stink now about these foolish claims so that her not coming back in the national spotlight won't be because of leftover baggage.

Did y'all hear that, once again, Campbell Brown was defending her?!??! Saying that CNN had investigated these claims and found them to be patently false. Go Campbell! But what's up with CNN actually investigation something?!?!!?

There Republican Party was very vulnerable for many reasons...one being sheer numbers. I hope conservatives can take this time to develop something that actually resembles "GUMPTION"!!! I'm ticked at the way Gov. Palin was treated....by both sides. I never thought I'd feel bad for Hillary but, I DO. BO's campaign played nasty and dirty. I will give him as much respect as Bush, McCain, Palin and Clinton were given. I look at him as a radical dem....nothing more....nothing less.

The thing is, though - most of the country is conservative ideologically. And the reason that Republicans don't get voted in is because they're too moderate not too conservative. Conservatives did not vote for JM in this election - he would have won otherwise. But we do have the numbers - they just didn't find someone they could back completely.

GUMPTION is right - we are right in what we believe - we do have the means by which to better the people in this wonderful country of ours - we've seen democratic policies put in place time and time again and know them to be a sham....but then the dems pull out the same old racism card/sexist card or whatever card and we wimper back into our corner. I'm sick of it....

Okay, so let's see ... Ray Nagin in charge of FEMA, Guv Jen on BO's economic team ... then I think the next logical choice is Marion Barry as drug czar.

:sad2:

I don't think that SP will be on the ticket in 2012. And, to the what’s-his-name-OS - why the heck would she, if she had the Presidency in mind as her end goal, demote herself to a Senator just in order to run for President? If she wants the Presidency it would be in her best interest to keep her job as Governor. Both the Governor and President are executive branch positions. Senators are legislative branch positions.

But, I don't think she will run for the Presidency and actually, I would love for her to run for the Senate. We do need good people like her in Washington to take on the vile crap that goes on there.

I believe I saw pictures once of the seats on his campaign airplane, and they were already embossed with President Obama.

Yup:

And where was I to miss out, until today, that Ayers had the audacity to show up for Obama's celebration party after an election that he was a hot topic in? He was thumbing his nose at all of those ignorant OS who took Obama's word that Obama didn't have a relationship with him.

I totally agree. I figure that I will be celebrating my 80th birthday (I am 50) and they will still be blaming Bush for whatever.

That is exactly my thoughts also and I have mentioned it before. Get her into the House or Senate and let her presence known across the country. I seriously feel its too soon for her as POTUS. I am so excited that she is a young face in our party and that gives us so much hope for the Republican Party. :woohoo:

The first thing we need to do is tell the RINOS where to go and it ain't a pretty place! :snooty:

My thoughts on Palin are that she should continue as Govenor, and then be put in a high level position in the next Republican administration. From there it can be determined if she would make a good candidate.

The way I look at it is, most Americans are moderate. Not too far to the left, not too far to the right. If the liberals try to sway things way left, the Democrats in Congress know they will have to answer to the voters back home. Congress is the body that makes law, and, thank God, they are up for re-election every 2 years. With the economy the way it is, I don't see a lot of domestic policy being a priority right away. I hate the wealth redistribution thing. I know a few people who are 'adjusting' their assets before Obama takes office.

YAY!! I caught up!
I also voted for Mc Cain because of Sarah Palin. She could have done so much for this country had she gotten a chance to serve as VP. I know she has inspired me in many ways.

"The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything." Joseph Stalin

So true...at least these days.
Ca taxs are 7.75% I thought :confused3 LA is 8.2% Each district is a little differnt byt most range from 7.75-8.25 percent.

I think it is a good idea....we need to so something to get out of this debt.....we just passed a hike in my town for an increase so to add moneys to our fire man and police and Emergency needs in our town. So between that and this we will be paying more.

Than if Obama raises Taxes we are in for it there also.
Currently L.A. County (where I live) is 8.25%. Stupid measure R just passed which increased it by .50% and Arnie wants to up it another 1.5% on top of that. So it would end up at 10.25%. I do not want that at all. We already pay the second highest taxes in the nation and don't get me started on the gas tax. To say I am not happy about this is an understatement.

OMG you guys talk a lot. 62 pages, I'm not even going to try to read it all.

All I'm going to say is :

Conservatives, I couldn't agree with you more!

OS, you have your own thread, please go there.

:rotfl2: Ok, I'm officially caught up now. :teeth:

I feel better finding this thread and knowing there are Americans with my same views and concerns for our future! I voted for McCain and I am very upset and depressed over the outcome of this election. I will not watch the news nor do I have any respect for the media in their role in helping BO get elected.

The first thing we need to do is tell the RINOS where to go and it ain't a pretty place! :snooty:

::yes:: Truer words were never spoken.

I don't mind being a big tent party. In fact, I like that about us because unlike many of the Democrats, we don't mind people disagreeing on various issues. However, the time is over for RINOs to be getting the nomination and running the party. It doesn't work, we don't win.

We need a house cleaning from top to bottom. It is past time to take out the garbage. We have got to get back to the party of fiscal responsibility. When we're representing that, we win more often than not. What I find pathetically funny about all of this is the Republicans got kicked out of power for acting like typical Democrats, i.e. wasteful, out of control spending. Moving further to the left (how can you get much further to the left in the GOP than McCain?!!!) will ensure more rear end kicking in 2010.

Eric Cantor from VA is supposed to be running for Minority Whip. I don't know a lot about him, but he is supposed to be a true fiscal conservative. He was the one pushing the idea of an insurance package for Wall Street instead of a bailout. I'm hoping he will lead the charge in taking out the garbage. That process needs to start with chucking most of the leadership we have on the Hill right now.

Oh, and it's been determined the aides bashing Sarah were not Romney people. Two of them apparently were, as suspected, Nicole Wallace and Steve Schmidt. Third one is still in the process of being smoked out. Frankly it doesn't surprise me. Wallace left CBS for her job, and Schmidt was a top McCain guy from the get-go. Romney was on the receiving end of underhandedness from McCain and Huckabee. I didn't think it made sense for his people to be doing this, and I really didn't believe he was behind it. Mitt's a good man, IMO.

http://www.redstate.com/diaries/erick/2008/nov/05/operation-leper/

IMO, we need to keep an eye on who these clowns go to work for, and then we need to make it clear to that GOPer that we do not approve of them being hired at all. And this is not for the sake of payback, this is to ensure they don't pull this crud with a GOP candidate ever again. I'm tired of us being hurt from within by people who have no business being in the party to begin with.
