SO we are going to WDW again

Who??
Eddad 42,
Tux14.jpg

18 months post open heart surgery for aortic dissection and a 3 month hospital stay.. Complications caused my leg to be cut open from ankle to knee(both sides) on my right leg...It's covered with scars and skin grafts.
Enough with the gross stuff..I apologize..Our last trip was July of 2007, just after my hospital release... I spent that trip in a wheelchair... No wheelchair this time, in fact I just rode a bike for the first time yesterday..Not bad for someone who was this close to losing the leg.
I've promised DW(jennymom) that there will be no barking this time, or quacking..I was hoping to at least get in a few quacks, but Jenny says no.
You see ,I like the embaress my wife..It's fun..I barked at DS at Epcot once and people laughed..Jen got mad, so, seeing a great opportunity , I did it again this time at strangers.. I even quacked a few times..DW claimed "we are not amused" but I saw her trying not to laugh.. DS got in on the act...To the people getting out of the limo at the AKL, I'm sorry DS quacked at you from our lovely parking lot view balcony.
Anyhow I promise to be good this time.

Jenny DW 38, Disney planner extrodinaire. 18 year survivor of AIDS..For someone who was supposed to be dead by 1993, every trip is a victory..She will be helping with this report.

DS Jeremy 13, occasionally quacks or barks too, but promises to behave..He quite the Disney expert..

Where,CSR, or so DW says...Of course she's prone to change her mind and it's her perrogative right? Could be CSR, may be a split stay ,may be a deluxe . Who knows

When Feb 6-13th .At least we think those are the dates..It may move , or not

Basically, we are going to WDW, but we don't know when or where. More to come

Where to eat?
We love to eat.. This is proven by the fact that I lost 65 pounds in a 3 month hospital stay and only looked a little thin. We are trying to eat much healthier now and plan to do so at DIsney a bit more than we usually do..We are still going to eat really bad things ,just not as much.
Nothing keeps Jennymom from a funnel cake or chocolate around the world..Nothing.
Oh and nothig keeps Ed from a half yard at the Rose and Crown

We would like to go back to the Biergarten, it's fun. We MUST and I repeat MUST eat at the California Grill. Flatbreads , sushi, filet and Bananas and butterscoth buzz must be eaten.
DS doesn't even like steak but he tasted our filet last time and was blown away.

We also want to try Raglan Road for the first time..Incidentally our English friend said the menu looked good but was not authentic.
A couple of old standards we may try are LeCellier, Chef's De France and Kona... Jenny has never had the Tonga Toast and cannot go another trip without trying it...We also need to try Figar Fries this trip.
Hmmm. This is sounding less and less healthy isn't it?
A couple of other nnew places we want to try are Mama Melrose and Yachtsman's Steakhouse or Citrico's

My birthday is Feb 14th so this will be a birthday trip. Our Anniversary will be the 16th, so another good excuse for cake..
Ok, so maybe we will toss the healthy eating right out the window for a week or so?

So the debate begins already.. SHould we do a split stay.. I really want to do CSR, so maybe I ca do half CSR /Half CBR..Where would I request at BR to minimize the walking from the room to the food courts main pool etc..
I already know we want the cabanas at CSR. We would also have to request a 1st floor at BR as I can't walk up stais well..
You may have noticed 4 kids in my sig. Well 3 have school and can't go..My homeschooled son can go though..We tend to rotate who goes when and have only made one trip with all of us. I could take them all in the summer, but we are going to europe(all of us) and 2 kids spend the summer with their Dad in PA.
I guess we are leaning towards an 8 day split stay and one of us will get an AP.
DW is a retired Marine and we are SOG eligable, but really have no desire to stay there. Our first trip in 2003 was at the CR when SOG was being rehabbed..We paid 70$ a night for CR..

No ones reading, but I'm going to keep on typing anyway.
Jenny's stories
We were a Disneyland family first. We lived in San Diego for years and used to go a lot.. WHen I first met Ed I already had 2 kids..MY kids were 1 and 3. We decided to take them all to Disneyland. Things were great until we got to the haunted mansion. DD was OK until the lights went out ad lightning crashed..Brittany jumped 3 feet in the air into Ed's arms..Ed gave her a hug and said "It's OK honey, It's Casper's House" "Caspoo's house" said DD? OK..And that was that..I knew that not only was she OK with the HM but she was OK with ED and that he would be a good father to her.
My second fav DL story is from the next trip. It was right after Christmas and we took DD and DS..The parade started and at the end Santa walked by..DD was so excited that she ran forward and shouted "thank you Santa, Thank you for my presents" It was just so darned cute.
I think that was the same trip in which some hairy arm pitted woman kep flashing her chest at me each time we walked by..We must have passed her 3 times, and each time we got flashed.
We love Disneyland and never really had any desire to go to WDW. We really had no clue how different the two parks were. I'm not sure wha caused us to take that first WDW trip in 2003, but after that we were hooked
It may be blasphemy, but we do think DL MK is better than WDW'S..Epcot however is our favorite Disney park of all.. The WS is our happy place. As a whole though DL doesn't compare to WDW.
When I was in the hospital and delirious Jenny says I was talking about going to WDW

I'm narrowing down our options for resorts

8* days CSR
4 days BR 4 Days CSR
7 days WL
4 days CSR 4 days WL
4 Days SOG 4 WL

I'm hoping for a AP rate unless I choose SOG..
I'm just a but afraid I won't like SOG, that it won't be *Disney* enough,KWIM?
ANy input ?
Aybody?
Bueller? Bueller?

Hi EdDad

I vote for 4 days CSR, 4 days WL. Those are both cool resorts, and you get to move "up" halfway through your trip, as well as add a little variety. Spice of life, you know!

Well, we think we will defiately do CSR for some period of time..I think the WL portion will depend on money, and AP discounts

Hi! I'm in for your TR. Glad you guys are still doing great! I miss seeing Jenny's posts on the boards.

I vote for the full trip at CSR - only because I'd find it a pain to have to make a switch.

Wow, What a couple of days. MIL came to visit and used the word metastized in relation to her cancer..WE knew it had spread from her kidneys to her lungs but I guess the dreaded word metastized made it more real.
We also got the final oil bill of our years worth of oil..Balance due is 2179.00 That's right 2179.00.. I guess they predicted a much lower oil cost when they gave us our budget plan.. It's a good thing our tank is nearly full , so we won't need oil until Dec .
Well this mean no WL...Looks like it's CSR for sure. I just can't justify the cost unless I get a big bonus or comission..Fat chance in the mortgage industry.
Jenny had a doctors appt today but cancelled..I think she's stresed out enough that she just doesn't want to deal with it this week.

Bummer - on the other hand, a full trip at CSR is still a great trip, and it is true that you'll miss out on having to pack and move and unpack again in the middle of it.

We don't mind switching resorts.. We find it fun, so maybe we will do 2 moderates..
I just contacted someone to get my quote for this trip and we will probably book this week for Feb 4th-11th.

It's nice to see the ticker is under 6 months.
