Today is DD's first day of college classes. I'm up at the crack of dawn with her. Told her the first few days I would help wake her up early, since she's never had to get up this early before. UGGHHH!!

So GOOD MORNING ladies!:) :) :) I am so tempted to call in sick today and go hang out on the river practicing my new fly fishing skills. I'm just so surprised that I like this so well, it's so much more fun than regular fishing. It's the most graceful sport, almost like ballet. There were two of us that they had to pull off of the pond at dinner time.:rotfl: I spent 4 hours standing there just practicing casting. Your mind just goes "into the zone", you don't think of anything really and you just sort of become one with nature. Do you think I'm hooked already??:rotfl2:

Alison, my friend said they didnt wash their clothes either but they used some sort of "spray" to disinfect the clothing and items before it went on the floor. As soon as she said that i swear my skin started itching. :scared: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

They joked that these pants will probably become my favorite pants and I'll wear them all the time. I think the next time I see these ladies I'll make sure I have these pants on! :lmao:

Oh and dh and I are so jealous of your flyfishing! We want to go someday. When we went back to KS there was this perfect little river and a few flyfisherman in it. It was like a postcard. He said he would take us when Jake got old enough someday. I cant wait! It looks like so much fun.

I took pics of their Domokun stuff and they had a display of a GIANT Domokun hanging from the ceiling. It's this HUGE plush and I wanted to jump up and grab it and run off with it! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Noah and I noticed the giant domo at our local Super target-- I was all ooooooooooooooooo and wished they had a drawing to win it. Too good of a plush for them to just toss or pack away in some warehouse after the holiday is done.
Noah wanted it too and we laughed that it was bigger than his cousin (my sister's lil miracle guy)

Oh shawna.. only YOU would have an incident in Saver's :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I don't like Saver's because they use staples on everything and it's a grungy icky store here. They are also overpriced compared to our fave thrift store.:snooty:

We sometimes stop in if we need bookshelves or other non fabric furniture-- found a small rolling table ( I think it's a typist stand) that is perfect for dialysis.

It's not often we buy used clothes-- seasonal wear usually, only wear shorts for 3 months here so why not? We always wash up after being at a thrift store, lots of people handling the merchandise and sometimes it's grungy/dusty... I shudder at the thought of wearing something out the door there-- eww.

We buy BOOKS!!! lots and lots of books -- some are brand new hardcovers for just a few dollars. I 've managed to find books 9 thru 13 of the Plum series (all but one in hardcover) and a few other series by Janet Evanovich. Tons of Stephen King for the guys and a nice bundle of my trashy historical romance books.

I also love scouting out 50's/ 60's era kitchenware (white ware/glass types) . If it's lasted this long, it will last in my kitchen :thumbsup2

Alison: I had a feeling you would like fly casting. My dad never did that type but, I know other people who enjoy the hobby and happily collect "flys" (and other fishing things that I have no clue about.) Watch out, I've heard its very addicting! :goodvibes

awww, hope the retainer is not bugging him too much Alex.:flower3: I didn't have an expander but did the whole braces and headgear thing. Those monthly orthodontist visits were rough when they really tightened things up.

I'm waiting around for DNTheMarine to visit today. He said around noon, but I know he likes to sleep in the mornings. so we will see. He's at his dad's house "up north", about a two hour drive to metro area.

Did a spot clean of the apt .. now I sit and wait twiddling my thumbs lalalallalalalallalalaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I might have had one of those. Does he have a key to turn it and it expands the top of his mouth? If so I had that and it HURT like a junk punch
My DD had one of those..she just got it out less than 2 months ago...everytime I tried to turn it I would jab her in the roof of her mouth..she quit letting me do it and had DH or one of her brothers:lmao: I couldn't see the hole to get the key thing in...what can I say...the vision is going.

we went, we saw, we collected papers, prices and now we have to decide which one....and we will go back in a couple of weeks and its a done deal...its just getting us to agree on one....

Good morning, hyenas!
I am... flabbergasted! It poured bucketloads all night, now it's sunny. What gives???

Gina... sweetheart... Aren't you supposed to adjust it when the kid isn't wearing it??? That's how they demo'd it to me. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

So... let's get the stuff we are all DYING to know!

Did you???

OK, since Gina's not spilling yet...

I brought DS4 to preschool this morning. As usual, as soon as he walked in the other kids started clamoring for his attention, and I had to keep his attention on taking off his coat and backpack, and scooting off to the potty. He likes going in there by himself now, and I'm pleased that he's getting with the program finally, even in the tiniest way.

So he's in the bathroom singing away at the top of his lungs (yeah, he does that every time  ), and we'd passed a mom and crying boy in the doorway. The mom had successfully pried the boy off her with the teacher's help, and walked away, and the boy shifted into high panic. "Mommy! Mommy, don't leave me! Mommyyyyyyy!" :scared1:

Having done that the first week of preschool last year, I know how hard that is on the mom, and I felt so bad for her. And of course the boy, they just really don't understand at first. But we're what... starting our 4th week of school now, what's the deal? He was really hysterical! Maybe he'd just started, I don't know.

The teacher tried to interest him in an activity, but he refused. She asked if he wanted a snack, and he refused. She walked him over to get some tissues, and he refused, so she wiped his tears and the snot coming out of his nose and tried to reason with him, but he was just not having it. I would have offered to help, because of course other kids were coming up with questions or problems, and she was having to focus on this one kid. But I wasn't sure if that would help or not. I knew her assistant teacher was about to come in from helping out on the drive-through line, so I just left once DS got out of the bathroom. Poor little guy. :confused3

Now how the heck did I miss this post? :rotfl2:

And now POOF! You're gone. :guilty:

I hope you can decide easily. Is it a case of different dollar amounts, different theming preferences (I have no idea, but I've heard the hotels there are themed differently, maybe the DVC condos are too)? I hope you can come to an agreement and git 'er done, as DH says. And if that fails, there's always the spork. :rolleyes1

You have impeccable timing, dizzy! I'd just left the thread to go poke around on the DIS... And what's the first thread I see? The hyena thread, with a last post by YOU! :rotfl2:

How are you guys doing? Did you have a fun weekend?

:lmao:

We are good - I worked all weekend (story of my life  ) but all is good. This week I am working a ton to give the other managers a bit of a break before our trip :yay:

That's smart! Give 'em a break before you guys take off for a break of your own while they mind the stores. :thumbsup2

Hope you don't wear yourself out in the meantime, though. It will so be worth it when you get there. I'm so excited for you! I want to go NOW!!! :lmao:

I have been going through withdrawals, I swear for at least a month, and I keep having to remind myself it's not even been 5 months since I was last there! It seems like ages ago!

No kidding about the withdrawals, I know what you mean. I was telling someone that it had been a whole 9 months since I was last there, and that it seemed like forever. Then the more I thought about it I was then in April :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Sorry, i got distracted for a bit. The little girl (who was run over by a car), her family has a blog, so I was updating myself on how she was doing. She is actually doing amazingly well, but still has damage to the optical nerve stem - so she has not woken up yet - but they say it takes the longest to heal :sad1:

I KNOW!!!

I think it's DH's fault. (I can blame him, can't I?) DS8 was a little bummed out because he wanted to go on his birthday (August), like we had for DS4's birthday (April.) DH said he couldn't miss the time off work, but I could take the boys if I wanted to.

I would have loved to, except that it's the summer crowds, summer hottest heat, and I'd have both boys on my own. Even so, I was still considering it (you KNOW how we don't do crowds, or heat! :faint: ), but then I realized we often split up so that DS8 and DH can do more rides, while DS4 and I do 'younger' rides or visit characters.

So I talked with DS8 and said if he really wanted to go, I'd try to make it happen. But it would be crowded, really hot, and he wouldn't be able to do any ride that DS4 couldn't go on (or won't go on, like ToT.) He decided that would not be fun, and declined. ;)

Time for me to run and get my little munchkin, dizzy! See ya later!

My goodness. Such a little sweetie. :guilty:

I'm glad to know she's doing well. Sounds like they're keeping her in a medically induced coma to let the optic nerve heal?
