I would love to have a time share.. We have looked into one, Trendwest, and it wasnt such a bad deal at the time. But that was when were first dating... Not something we really wanted to get into then. But in Trendwest, you own FOREVER. Unlike Disney where it is only for 40 years or something.
I thought when I talked with the gal in DL she said it was for 100 years, and you could will it to your kids. ???

I really prefer the condo/suite type of vacation then staying in a hotel room. I dont do well cramped up in one room with everyone for long periods of time. On our first trip to DL we stayed at the La Quinta, and had a suite room.. and it was great. The kids had their own room, and TV and such.

Then when we went to Leavenworth and stayed in the condo?? That was GREAT!! I LOVED that! Having a kitchen... fantastic! We have always wanted to stay at one of the DVC resorts when we go to WDW. Besides... Having a kitchen available to us would really help with the tummy troubles we tend to get after eating out a bunch. :rolleyes1
Whoooooooo, that first vacation with a child was an experience. DS8 (2yo) was in a crib in our room. He was used to sleeping in his own bed at the time, but he didn't WANT to sleep in the crib, he wanted to sleep with US! So at some point in the night we'd invariably bring him into the King bed with us. And from that point on (even after our vacation was over) he was in our bed! :headache:

I finally got him out when DS4 was about to arrive... and of course DS4 is STILL in our bed! :headache: :headache: :headache:

Whoa, time flies! I need to wake DS4 and get to the school! :rotfl:

I haven't even had lunch yet! :sad2:

See ya later, girl!

I delivered at Evergreen, which I think just got a Level 3 NICU... :)

My friend, who lives in Issaquah, had to go to University Hospital in the U-District when she had BP problems; apparently some of the best BP/maternity-related docs in the country happen to be there. She delivered at 31 weeks, and the baby (due to the BP issues) was tiny tiny tiny! But a spunky little thing, and you'd never know it today. She's tall for her age, super smart for her age, and just a well-rounded child. :goodvibes

You should visit both hospitals and see what you think. Is Tacoma General one of the ones you're talking about? My ex-SIL knows a gal in the maternity ward there. (At least she used to be there...)
Its Tacoma General, which has the level 3, and its a Multicare hosp. Which is right next to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital... OR... St. Joes.

Really? I thought it was less then that.

Hello Hyenas!

I'm DIS'ing on my phone from my cousins house. We are all hanging out and watching Discovery Health (mystery deaths). My bro and I are going to the store later but my aunt insisted we stay for dinner (she ordered the pasta from pizza hut). I haven't tried their pasta.

My co workers and I went to the farmer's market during our break. We all got tamales :) They had pineapple tamales and it tasted good (sorry Shawna). :lmao:

I went back there after work because the cucumber dill dip stand had not arrived. I got 3 for $10 and some pita chips and lavash. I also smelled strawberries and got 3 for $5. :yay:

I hope u guys have a good evening. :grouphug:

Gina you lucky lady!!!

Dave and I have also looked into DVC. If it wasn't for the fact the we are doing a MAJOR addition and remodel, I think we would have done it by now.

At Saratoga Springs the membership is good until the year 2054, and you CAN will or deed your membership to your children.

The last time we looked into it, we were interested only in the Grand California membership. But of course they wanted to sell us the Animal Kingdom Lodge membership. The were trying to tell us, that unless we already have shares, we have no chance of buying into the Grand alone.

Well phooey. Our day will come when the addition is done, and someone out there will be selling their shares, cuz they don't want it anymore. At least that is what I'm hoping for. I'm looking at 2010 to start thinking again about it.

In the mean time, I'm looking forward to hearing all about it from Gina!!

Woo Hoo!!!!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Also.. I have been checking out hospitals and such. My doc delivers at 2 hospitals. one has a level 2 NICU, and the other has a level 3. I never thought that I would have to decide on a hospital based on what level NICU they have. The one that has the level 3 is also right next to the children's hospital. Cant go wrong there huh??

Level 3 NICU and a Children's next door is an excellent idea.
The higher risk and twin pregnancies are fairly routine in that type of environment.

I had minor complications with Justin, level 2 staff came in and suctioned his airways to prevent problems , they quickly responded and he was just fine. For your run of the mill minor problems and slight prematurity.. level 2 is fine.

IF by chance the little jumping beans decide to make a very early appearance-- level 3 all the way! That way you can go down the hall to visit(our local NICU/maternity has closed circuitTV for moms that aren't well enough to leave room to "visit" baby) VS having to wait until discharge to motor over since they would be transferred.

The only problem is insurance.. some policies charge an extra co-pay for upper tier hospitals. Something we will have to consider when hubby gets a full time job.
We have MANY choices for hospitals in our area.. everything from a small community hospital to U of MN. The smaller hospitals don't have all the imaging equipment (no MRI) , less specialized staffing (one dialysis nurse in the whole hospital), less surgical suites/staff. For your routine illnesses it's okay. One of the small hospitals specialzes in heart attacks.. odd I know.

If you have a car accident/ trauma.. off you go to Hennepin County Medical Center, that's their specialty. They also have the only hyperbaric chamber in the area to treat carbon monoxide poisoning. And it's a public hospital.. so they serve the uninsured/ underinsured.

University of MN-- tranplants, cancer treatment, children's cancer treatment.. if you are not insured, they dont want you.

Abbott NW -- hubby's preferred "other home", I like their renal and heart floors-- very calm and not crowded. Short stay surgery area was nice (calm and quiet.. that's where I went after donation) .. but you DON'T want to be there for your run of the mill illness, med/surg.. three to a room, ancient part of the hospital ! YUCK!

anyway.. I'm rambling.. but you get the idea..

Hello Hyenas,

My bf and I slept in and woke up around noon. We decided to hang out in DTD and watch a movie (I still had tickets from American Eagle). We got there around 2pm and we watched Ghost Town. That movie was really good and I actually cried at some parts. It's a drama/comedy mix and I think you guys would enjoy it. Tea Leoni is in it and I like her. :)

We went to the bookstore and looked around. Shawna- they have a 2009 Bambi calendar. :goodvibes They also have some really cute Tink and Princess ones and a Pixar one I really liked. I didn't buy any but maybe later on. :yay:

I checked out the gift shop inside the Disneyland Hotel and bought some more of those rubber mickey head keychains and 2 Halloween pins.

We were hungry and hadn't eaten all day. We were starving by this point. We checked out Rainforest Cafe but it was too long of a wait, Jazz Kitchen was closed for a private party and we decided on the buffet at Storyteller's. Their waiting area was packed but I asked how long the wait time was and they said they could seat us in 5 minutes. :yay: We ate the buffet and I still love their corn chowder. I took pics of some of the desserts and will post them for you all later.

I did some shopping in World of Disney and then we headed home. Oh and from now until Nov. 1st, Vault 28 in DTD is offering discounts for AP holders. I'm not sure if it's just for Premium but they had some cool stuff.

I saw a Halloween shirt in World of Disney and some merchandise. I will post a pic of it for you guys to see.

On the way home the 5fwy was horrendous :headache: I couldn't stand it any longer and switched to the 101fwy. My bf wanted to buy something so we stopped at Target on the way home. I bought a tube that contains 2 Domokun figurines. One of them is Domokun as a DJ and I love it. :cheer2: I took pics of their Domokun stuff and they had a display of a GIANT Domokun hanging from the ceiling. It's this HUGE plush and I wanted to jump up and grab it and run off with it! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Ooh 2009 Bambi calendar would be cool. I've been using one of those family planners for the past 2 years but I'm annoyed with them so far because there is not enough space in each persons area for each day. For instance if I have to go to DR's 9am work at the school 12:00-2pm Birthday party 4pm I dont have enough room. I'm thinking of grabbing a WDW calendar this year. Hopefully we can get a cool one! :thumbsup2

This is a test. I've been playing with my new video camera and the upload onto the computer could not have been easier. Then I transfered it to photobucket so I want to see if I can post a short video below like I see sometimes.

Click on it and tell me if it works for you please. THANKS! Also I set the ablum to private so tell me if you can click anywhere else in my photobucket album. THANKS!!! BTW, I dont normally take videos this horribly BUT I was playing with my camera instead of focusing on the game. They were getting CREAMED out there. Jake's team is the maroon shirts. The other guys had almost all 7 year olds.

My tags went away :sad1:

I didn't do anything that bad, did I???

Shawna, anyone else, be honest with me.

Would "not sucking up to the managers enough" and "too quiet" constitute on a good reason why they couldn't give me lead?

Is that what they told you?

Hey Albort, being in management, and responsible for promoting people to managers this is the advice I can give you. First the "not sucking up part" is ridiculous - I cannot see that as a good reason to not give you a lead position. Being known as "too quiet" could be a potential problem if you would be in charge of other people - I know I would be concerned if that person could lead others.

This is what I would do. Now they are aware that you want a higher position. (So you have accomplished step one). Work on being more vocal, let them know that you are not afraid to speak your mind, and they will see what an asset that you are too them.

Good luck :goodvibes

That's weird! :confused3 Have you tried PM'ing Mary Jo? Maybe she could help. :confused3

I didn't - but I am so sad. I did get an infraction for the incident the other day, but that was a while ago and the tags just disappeared today (at least not when I got the infraction). It is just a small one (I got one with the same amount of points before :rolleyes1 ) and they didn't take my tags :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

The only thing I did recently was PM everyone that was upset by my post (I tried to post the same day, but the threads were closed), and I didn't want to cause more trouble by opening a whole new thread :sad1:
