We listened to a DVC spiel in DL on our last trip. Well, I did, DH walked away as the person was talking.

I thought it sounded interesting, but he was NOT interested at all. But it sounded like it would be a good deal, given that we've been going at least once a year... Of course that's only for the past 3 years, but we will have made 5 trips in those 3 years.

You obviously don't go just for the kids. That was one of the drawbacks somebody pointed out to me, that when the kids get older they won't want to go, and then it's money wasted.

But as the DVC person explained it to me, the points can be assigned to resorts within the US, the Disney cruises, resorts around the world, and now resorts in Hawaii. The one in Hawaii they mentioned is the nicest one on Maui, I was already familiar with that place because we went to a luau there on our last trip in 2002.

oh , and then I see that the monthly fees are pretty high....I put my cal. in my purse...I need to figure out how much you are paying in fees over the life of the share and exactly how much we are going to give up if we finance vs. cash...all of those little things are what makes me yuck....but,,,I AM STILL EXCITED

Totally off the DVC topic, I was chuckling over one of the political threads today. Apparently the kid who hacked into Sarah Palin's personal yahoo account is suspected to be the son of a Democratic legislator from TN. The first few posts are irate folks saying, "I KNEW IT! I knew the person would be a Democrat, all Democrats were involved, and Obama should be hauled onto the carpet for it!"

OMG. Did anybody seriously think that a Republican would hack Sarah Palin's yahoo account and publicize its contents? What stupidity!!! Even I knew the guy likely voted Democrat!

As to the conspiracy theory, I'm a little doubtful on that point...

Surprises dont fly in my house. I am to nosy, and I get MAD if he doesnt tell me exactly what is happening. Really mad.. Kick you in the shins...smother you in your sleep mad. I dont like surprises. I cant keep a secret either. at all. I am an open book. He knows it too..
