yeah, but the fallout between me and someone else is putting a lot of drama among us and co workers. Ive decided to quit while i can as i have the financial backup that the other person doesn't have and focus on school.
Albort, I'm sorry. That stinks. :(

Hello Hyenas,

What'd I miss? I've been swamped at work but finally finished everything.

Awww.. I'm sorry to hear that Albort. It's tough to work with someone on a daily basis who you are not in the best of terms with. I'm glad to hear that you have a backup plan and focusing on school sounds like a great plan.:thumbsup2 You could always hang out with us when we're at the park :cool1:

I have the opposite problem with DS8. I have to talk him into trying new things. And we're talking things he's either expressed interest in, or things I know he'd love!

He begged to play football last spring, so we signed him up. DH coached, and he had a great season... except that the last moment of the last game he fumbled the ball.

Me: Honey, what do you want to do this fall?
DS: Nothing.
Me: You usually do soccer. Do you want to do soccer?
DS: No.
Me: Why not?
DS: I just don't want to.
Me: OK. Well, it looks like the parks dept. has a basketball program in the fall. You usually play in the winter, but you could play in the fall, too, if you want.
DS: No.
Me: What about football?
DS: No.
Me: Why?
DS: Because I dropped the ball. I didn't like that.
Me: Everybody drops the ball, sweetheart! You had so much fun the rest of the season.
DS: No, I don't want to play anymore.
Me: Fine, but you're doing something. Swimming? Gymnastics? You loved both of those this summer, and you are really good at them.
DS: Fine, I'll do swim classes.
Me: And what about gymnastics? I'm going to sign your brother up for gymnastics, do you want to do the trampoline class again?
DS: No! No gymnastics.

:headache:

So doing NOTHING is a problem?:confused3 I love it when my kids do nothing. Who says you have to do something all the time, vegging out in front of the tv, riding a bike, picking dandelions in the yard...that'll keep him busy. When he gets bored (or more likely when he has a friend in an activity!) he'll do something.

I don't know about you guys but some of my favorite childhood memories are of doing absolutely nothing. So what do I remember about my childhood...the dog chasing the chickens, hunting for frogs in our creek, my mom packing us a lunch pail and us kids heading out to spend the entire day following the creek to see where it started:lmao: , swinging on the tire swing up on the hill, walking to my cousins house, building our own fort in the woods out of some old pieces of plywood, roller skating in our carport, cutting pictures out of old catalogs and pasting them on paper on rainy days, roller skating in my mom's bff basement on rainy days, going on long Sunday drives in the woods, going road hunting with my stepdad (lots of goodies in the truck to eat), finding a bunch of old school textbooks at the dump and reading them, picking blackberries, using my calculator and playing cashier by adding all the price stickers on the cans of food, waxing up an old car hood and my dad pulling us on it behind the truck in the field when it snowed, getting 1 cent for each tansy ragwort plant I pulled up, using baskets-socks-balls-old pop cans and making our own carnival games, gathering up pop bottles to exchange at the store for a candy bar...OMG!!! We were poor, weren't we?

Great idea!!!

I'm just so annoyed with him right now! :lmao: I mean honestly, did he think I would be happy when he said earlier THIS week. "Honey, I think we should have a garage sale this weekend" :sad2:

We are planning a community garage sale in 2 weeks. So that makes me even more puzzled. I realize this weekend is kinda nice because Jake doesnt have a football game this saturday but we had this scheduled for 2 weeks and there will be lots of traffic then. Actuallly I'm thinking of opting out of that one as its still over 100 and I think we can get more traffic in Nov. I have 1 box of stuff in the attic that I have collected otherwise I dont know what he wants me to put out. :lmao: :lmao:

:laundy: Off to change out a load

My response to DH: Oh can I stop by the bank and get you some change for YOUR garage sale? Then I will plan something to do with my friends that day!

I don't think its disturbing...you would not believe what I do to get rid of stuff:lmao:

dh holds on to underwear that have seen its day...I rip the band off so he can't, dh had box of old clothes from yester years...I "accidently" knocked over small bottle of oil sometime....(i squirt them)

I now quit throwing away holey undies. If they want to wear them, I could care less. If they get in a horrific wreck, the ER will cut their clothes and underwear off anyways. BTW, my brother used to be on the local volunteer firedepartments and was an EMT. He said an amazing number of people don't wear underwear.:rotfl2:

hey guys,

so it comes to now after the entire summer, im quitting. So no more looking for Albort at work. :) Ill be safe for awhile!

It is most imperative that you inform us promptly of your new employer. Please let the Human Resources department know that periodically crazed ladies eating churros will be searching around your new place of employment.:thumbsup2

Oh and by the way Albort, there is a terrific new feature on Photoshop under Edit, Decorate. You can create a photo of you with Vanessa Hudgens, only it's on Zac Efron's body!:thumbsup2

Oh and Shawna, when that Community Sale starts, just take your box of junk from the attic and set it in the back of someone's truck out on the street. They will get home and start wondering why they bought all that stuff that they didn't need.;)

..OMG!!! We were poor, weren't we?

I will join you in the NOTHING group, though my kids are not as happy in the do nothing style of childhood.. well maybe when they were younger. I found out this year the places the boys went on their bikes when we lived in St Cloud ....eek, potentially unsafe places like a creek with high banks that they almost fell down, but I friend pulled them to safety.

I think I would rather have not known :lmao:

When I was a youngster.. gosh that makes me sound old.. During the summer I would be gone from morning until night.. maybe stop by the house for a quick sandwhich if I got hungry or if one of my friend's family didn't feed us.

Playground, school grounds, creeks, parks, digging thru the dumpster behind the pharmacy (hey it was candy and it was on top). We would pool our pocket change together and order fries and a shake to share at Bridgeman's Ice Cream Fountain.

Building snow forts in the winter .. and trying really hard not to cry when my older brothers nailed snowballs in my face. Caroling with my sis and cousin on Christmas Day.

Climbing trees, picking apples off the neighbors tree, riding my bike for miles all around the area to visit each of my friends.

My brothers were in hockey for awhile, dance class for me (not professional.. jsut for fun)

The boys can do activities if they want, we encourage them.. but really why should I pay if they decided they don't liek it.

Told Justin he has to pick something cheap this year :lmao:

No skiing, but debate team -- coool!

You know it's funny but I vaguely remember the more formal "organized" activities. I know I was in softball (got my nose broke), girl scouts (our leader stole our supplies).

I'm sure some of the places we went and things we did were totally unsafe by today's standards. I can remember lighting rolls of toilet paper on fire and running as fast as we could to the end of the driveway, unrolling toilet paper the entire way. Whoever made it to the furthest before the fire reached the roll was the winner!:thumbsup2

We also used to shake and roll cans of Pepsi for hours and see who's would explode the furthest.

I remember the plastic water lines under our house freezing in the winter and we had to bring them inside, my mom would turn the oven on and stand in the front with them. Then when they would thaw out gigantic icicles would shoot out of the end. We stored them in the freezer and ate our "popsicles" all winter long.

Some Saturday nights my mom would make mexican food or a huge pot of spaghetti and all the relatives with their kids would come over to play cards. Everyone carried their butter container full of pennies to bet with.:thumbsup2

One time my cousin Linda (lived on our road) & I decided we wanted a Christmas tree before it was time (probably mid-November) so we got a hacksaw and hatchet and chopped down about a 50 foot douglas fir tree.:lmao: I swear it didn't look that big when we were cutting it down.

Ahhh....the good old days!:lmao:

Let's not forget the countless hours spent at Grandma's across the street climbing in her filbert tree orchard.:thumbsup2

And who can forget spending days on end with mom, grandma and great aunt Margaret down in the old fishing shacks on the Columbia river fishing for salmon, watching the ships go by.

Or how about the time my teenage cousin used to babysit us, she taught me how to smoke (with cigarettes my mom left for her!) and also let us squish grapes in the bathtub with our bare feet to try and make homemade grape juice.:thumbsup2

Did I mention the time my parents saw the Teton Dam in Idaho burst on the evening news and decided to pile us kids in the car to go see the damage. WTH??:confused3 Did we not have enough money to go on a vacation to Disney or what??:lmao:

Or the countless summer trips to Florence, OR to camp and ride 3-wheelers. Always, always in the rain!:lmao:

woohoo, tried another new recipe from my cookbook and the boys ate it!

I know it's gotten the seal of approval when Justin goes back for seconds. Otherwise, he eats just one serving and politely says "it was okay" and goes off to lounge in his room.

While Noah ate part of his miniscule serving, eating the choice bits and leaving the undesired parts behind.. he then ate another slice of bread. oh for gosh sakes.. when will his taste buds mature? :headache:

pewww, hubby just sprayed his stinkiness out of the bathroom and the AC sucked it up.. now the whole apt smells like overly sweet roses.

YUCK!

Can you tell he chose the scent? I don't like florals-- blahhhhhhhhhhh.

Bernice, be very specific when you tell J to pick something "cheap" this year. He's liable to bring home a skanky girlfriend!:scared1: :rotfl2:

I started making my own spray. A few capfuls of fabric softener and water in a spray bottle. Then it just smells like fresh, clean laundry!:thumbsup2 The smell doesn't last real long, but when trying to mask bathroom or cooking odors it works well.:thumbsup2

Oh and by the way, lighting toilet paper rolls on fire was not a "Mom Approved" activity!:lmao:

I'm pretty sure she never knew about our "Goop" making either. We used to mix say pancake batter and everything we could find from the cupboard together and make Goop, spread it out on a lovely tray and then throw it away before she got home. Terrible waste of food, but oh so fun to mix together. Or general recipe was pancake batter base, hot chocolate mix, fruit loops cereal and about 100 spices!:thumbsup2

Well I need to stop at the banks on my way home tonight and make some deposits. I'll talk to ya later B.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

My mom would gossip and chat with my aunt.. they told many amusing story of their teen years living near each other..

One of my mom's cousins always had to buy cigarette's for her uncle. The store clerks knew the family so they were fine to allow her purchase for her uncle. Well my mom and my aunt would have the cousin go buy cigarettes.. and then they would sit and smoke them all. Apparently they were god awful horrible, old man style tasting cigarettes.. but it was the only brand they would be allowed to buy without getting into trouble .

Anyway, I spent alot of my childhood hanging out at Auntie's house. I would be handed cast off dolls from my cousin while my mom and aunt would smoke and gossip for hours. Heard lots of interesting family stories. :scared: Lots of things a preschooler shouldn't have heard.

Funny though, mom didn't smoke unless she was at Auntie's .

ewwwwwwwwwwwww,My friends and I would mix all sorts of different things together and dare each other to drink it. Mouthwash, pop, juice, a tiny bit of alcohol from my parent's stash (see if it was just a tiny bit out of each one.. they wouldn't notice we had gotten into it).

DH and his bother did the TP torches too, except they were not allowed outside when their mom was working.. they caught the drapes on fire but managed to put them out before mom came home.. sore behinds after that little trick

hmm, maybe I have to ask for more details on the "friend " he sits with at lunch.. hubby asked what's his name.. he replied.. HER name is Maria and then started to stammer and blush.

awwwwwwwwwwwwww

:flower3:

okay, ther's enough for you to read for when you gfet back.. off to play with hubby's bloooooooooooooooooooooooooooood

muahahahhahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

:lmao: Alison, sounds like your doing NOTHING was alot of SOMETHINGS!

I picture doing nothing as sitting on the couch all the time being lazy. THAT is not what you were doing!!! My lake house days were then filled with doing nothing but we called it playing!:lmao: I was out from the crack of dawn til midnight every day exploring the area, swimming and climbing trees. It was fun. We were in organized sports though. I dont see anything wrong with those. They actually are very beneficial. :thumbsup2
