Howdy! I'm back from fishing, didn't catch anything but had loads of fun. Managed to get a blister on my hand. So I can see where the fingerless gloves will come in handy.

Yeah, sorta. It's not really a fun, exciting activity. Kind of more of a relaxing, get in the zone, don't think about anything kind of activity. Hard to describe. But I do enjoy it very much and the time goes by so fast. I feel like I've been fly fishing for 30 minutes and look at my watch and 4 hours have passed.

The lake that I was at is next to the freeway and I didn't even really hear the cars once I got into it. Regular fishing bores me, but fly fishing you never sit down and you are always moving.

We have a small lake here in our town that they plant trout in. It used to be a part of the Lewis River, but back in the 1950's they put I-5 freeway in and cut it off, so it's now called Horshoe Lake. Surprise, because it's shaped like a horshoe! They pipe water into it from under the freeway.

It's about a 3 minute drive from my house, so easy to just hop into the car and be there in a jiffy. The spot that you fish at is also near the parking lot for our new skateboard park. So DS can ride his scooter and bike and play around while I fish if he wants to go with me.

It's a little intimidating the first couple of times you try it, but actually easier to figure out than I thought it would be. Of course I'm not very good at it, but that will come with time and lots of practice, practice, practice.

My DH and DS came down with me, DH gave me a few pointers and then they took off and left me alone. I think I might go tomorrow morning also. They are all going racing so it will give me something fun to do.

Of course I don't know how cheap this sport it going to be. I'm already making a list of the things I need. First on that list a pair of gloves. I can't believe that I gave myself a blister today. Think I need to relax and loosen up my grip on the rod a little bit??
