Restaurant Name/Location: 1900 Park Fare/Grand Floridian
Which Meal: Dinner
Which characters were present: Suzy, Perla, Cinderella, Prince Charming and the Fairy Godmother in the lobby.
What foods were available: Many! It was a buffet. You can see allearsnet.com for menus :)
What you ate: chicken marsala, both kinds of pasta they had, tortellini, more that I can't remember.
Positive Comments: It was wonderful, I definitely want to go back! The food was delicious and the characters were very interactive.
Negative Comments: The waitress took away my plate before I was done, twice.

Restaurant Name/Location: Chef Mickey's/Contemporary
Which Meal: Breakfast
Which characters were present: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, and Dale.
What foods were available: Every breakfast food you could think of!
What you ate: A little bit of everything.
Positive Comments: Everything was wonderful, not one complaint here!
Negative Comments: Nothing :)

Restaurant Name/Location: Gulliver's Grill/Swan Resort
Which Meal: Dinner
Which characters were present: Rafiki and Timon
What foods were available: There is a buffet (mostly Seafood) and seperate menu.
What you ate: I had a filet with a baked potato and ate a little bit of my DM's plate, she got the buffet!
Positive Comments: Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful food, great character interaction. The cast members there were some of the nicest I have ever met. One woman even escorted me to the bathroom. Couldn't have asked for a better experience here.
Negative Comments: Nothing!

I think this is a good idea! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Restaurant Name/Location: Liberty Tree Tavern
Which Meal: Dinner
Which characters were present: Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale
What foods were available: Turkey, Prime Rib, Ham served with the fixins - potatoes, salad, bread, stuffing, warm cobbler - served family style
What you ate: I tried everything.
Positive Comments: It was wonderful, I definitely want to go back! The food was delicious and the characters were very interactive. They came around 3 times in the amount of time we spent there. Perfect home cooked like meal. Wonderful atmosphere.
Negative Comments: none

Restaurant Name/Location: Princess Storybook at Akershus
Which Meal: Breakfast
Which characters were present: Jasmine, Aurora, Snow White, Belle, Mulan
What foods were available: Eggs, Sausage, bacon, cinnamon rolls, OJ, potatoes
What you ate: A little bit of everything.
Positive Comments: Very good service. My daughter was mesmerized by all the princesses in one room. Less expensive than CRT. You get to see all the princesses in one room in a matter of 45 minutes.
Negative Comments: Princesses are very rushed. You definately feel like they are trying to move you through quickly. The breakfast was tasty, but not satisfying enough for us, because of the lack of selection. We didn't love the food enough to get full like you would at most buffets.

Restaurant Name/Location: Cinderella's Royal Table
Which Meal: Breakfast
Which characters were present: Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White, Belle, Fairy Godmother
What foods were available:
Adults: fruit, pastries, yogurt, potato casserole, bacon, sausage, eggs
Kids: french toast sticks, bacon, and eggs
What you ate: A cinnamon roll potato casserole, eggs, and bacon
Positive Comments: The potato casserole was great. It is all you can eat so everyone will get full. The smile on my daughter's face made it worth all the money in the world!
Negative Comments: The eggs were cold, the coffee was horrible.

DD and I were on a mission since January to do all (or close to it) of the character meals this year. I go for the experience and character interaction and pics...I am sure we don't get our $$$ out of the food in many cases - especially the buffets. There are none that I strongly disliked, but some that I would never do again.

We have done 11 character meals, at 8 locations between 1/22/2006 & 6/30/2006. With the exception of three meals (Akerhaus, Chef Mickey & 1 time at Ohanas - the meals were just DD and I. We have DDE, which was great to save some $$$$$).

I would do 1900 Park Fare for B-fast again in a heart beat. Still need to do Chef Mickey for dinner & the one at The Land in EPCOT. Also want to try the one at Gullivers Grill/Swan with Timon and Rafiki.

What you ate: A little of everything - loved the potatoes
Positive Comments: It was our first character meal, enjoyed the company of our friends from NY! Characters were good with below exception
Negative Comments: This was our least favorite overall - Belle was grumpy - even they have a bad day!, very crowded, service was slow, juice was spilled, took 3 requests to get help cleaning it up, never go refills of drinks even when requested, crying little Tinkerbelle at the table behind us that in my opinion should have been removed from the table until she calmed down (she wanted out of her custom and nothing to do with the Princesess!! Mommy had other expectations though I guess!)

Garden Grill/EPCOT
Lunch
Farmer Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale
Food is all you can eat, served family style
Fresh bread, salad, pork loin, turkey and cranberry sauce, flank steak, fried catfish, potatoes, fresh garden vegetables, dessert tray with four selections.
We love this restaurant! The food is wonderful. The restaurant is round and rotates over The Land attraction. Each booth is very private and quiet. The character interaction is the best I have found at WDW. This is definitely a must for each trip.

I started the thread b/c even when the search feature was working, it was taking me way too long to find reviews on character meals! :) We'll be in Disney next week! Yay! I'll be able to add LTT dinner, CRT dinner, PSB dinner, and CP breakfast (unless we're too tired to get up :rotfl: - then we'll try to get in for dinner).

Can't wait!

I'm going to add another to my list above. DD and I went to MK on Wednesday, as schools were closed due to the bad weather. On the way I decided we would need to eat as we had not had lunch, so I called Disney Dining on the way and got Liberty Tree Tavern for an early dinner!

Restaurant Name/Location: Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom
Which Meal: dinner (8/30/2006-DD & me0
Which characters were present: Chip & Dale, Pluto, Minnie & Goofy
What foods were available: Family style - delicious hot rolls & butter, Declaration Salad - had Strawberry vinagrette dressing, Mac&Cheese (Stouffers), Mashed Potatoes, stuffing (aka dressing), sliced ham, turkey breast and roast beef, gravy and green beans. Apple Cobbler & Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert. Delicious brewed (unsweetened iced tea)
What you ate: I tried a bit of everything. The salad was nice and chilled, and the dressing was enjoyable. All of the main course dishes were good - very much "Thanksgiving" type foods. DD particularly loved the mashed potatoes & turkey.
Positive Comments: This was a wonderful experience. I can't wait to go back the evening of our MNSSHP! It was quiet as far as character meals go. The colonial atmosphere is a nice change. We were in small dining room with only six 6 or 7 other parties. Our server Susan was fabulous and attentive!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
Negative Comments: None.

Restaurant Name/Location: Chef Mickeys
Which Meal: Breakfast
Which characters were present: Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale, all in Chef outfits
What foods were available: Huge Buffet- basically anything you can think of
What you ate: All of the above.
Positive Comments: We go here every trip. I like the atmosphere, my kids LOVE the food, the characters are organized and VERY attentive.
Negative Comments: None

I am so excited for our upcoming character meals! This thread is great....and making me hungry!! :thumbsup2

Restaurant Name/Location: Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom
Which Meal: Dinner
Which characters were present: Minnie, Pluto, Chip, Dale and Goofy
What foods were available: Thanksgiving meal: Salad with Strawberry Vinegrette dressing, Rolls, Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef, Mashed Potatos, Stuffing, Green Beans, Mac-n-Cheese, and Apple Cobbler with Vanilla Icecream
What you ate: all of it
Positive Comments: This was a great experience. The food was wonderful, the character interaction was great! Can't wait to go again someday!
Negative Comments: none

Restaurant Name/Location: 1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridian
Which Meal: Breakfast
Which characters were present: Pooh, Tigger, Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins and the Mad Hatter
What foods were available: Breakfast buffet: waffles, pancakes, made to order omlets, biscuits, sweet rolls, fruit, grits, oatmeal and other stuff.
What you ate:waffles, pancackes, fruit
Positive Comments: you can see Mary Poppins outside of the resaturant while you are waiting for your table.
Negative Comments: Ok..this was not my favorite palce. It was so large that we barely got to see the characters, and we ended up waiting about 20 mins after we were done eating just to see them. The food was just ok..nothing great, nothing bad. We did breakfast at Chef Mickey's a few years ago, and I personally thought they had better choices of food and better character interaction.
