I would have a much harder time living without my cordless phone at home than living without my cell phone. I'm realizing how much I value being able to talk privately and to have the freedom to move about when talking.

My parents don't have a cordless and they have absolutely no privacy from each other. It's turning into a real issue as they age and my siblings and my self sometimes want/need the opportunity to "check in" with one about the health issues of the other. No privacy! We can never get unsensored information.

I have a corded phone in my bedroom...we got caught without a corded phone once during an ice storm and none of the cordlesses worked w/out electricity. Anywho, if the phone rings I will actually run across the house to get a cordless:rotfl2: It's a comedy to watch, let me tell ya. I can't stand getting stuck in the bedroom on the corded phone....it's like prison!

Most of our phones still have cords. : ) Only one of our phones is cordless. We do OK when talking on the corded phones. Even if we didn't have the one cordless, for privacy we could use one of the bedroom phones rather than talking in an area with other people, such as in the kitchen.

We know we could replace all of the corded phones with cordless, but they all work fine and we don't care to spend the $ replacing things that aren't broken.

We also have a cordless in the bedroom - for the same reasons - it still works and for when the power goes out. However, I do the same thing so I don't get "stuck" on the bedroom phone!

I don't have a cordless phone right now, just one with a really really long cord...I use my cell if it's an extended conversation and I want to move around.
If I didn't have the cell, I agree, I would miss the cordless!

Yes. I have lived without a cordless phone for 5 years, which was when I disconnected my landline and went cell-only. Before that, though, no.

Well, considering most of the time we can't find our cordless phones when the phone rings and we end up picking up the corded one, yes, we could live without them :lmao:.

I could probably live without any phones, but my wife could not. I will admit that having some sort of phone is somewhat necessary, I just wish they were not.

My cell phone spends more time sitting on my desk (turned off) than I carry it. For the house, we have three cordless phones that work off one main unit and my wife often has at least two in the same place because she walks around with them. The one in my den usually stays put on the desk except for when she walks out of the room with it, which is frequently.

It annoys the heck out of me to not be able to find a cordless phone hung up where it's supposed to be (3 kids...21, 19, and 17), but we don't have a corded phone.

For the most part, I DESPISE having conversations on the phone...cell or otherwise. I use both to just connect with people and impart or receive information. I prefer email or talking in person.

I have both at the lake - cordless and corded.. Same here at DD's.. Always important to have a corded phone due to weather conditions..:)

The one thing I don't like about cordless phones is that they're hard to hold on your shoulder while doing something else, but they all have the speakerphone option as well, so if need be I can switch over for a minute or two..

Maybe we're all just compulsively tidy because we ALL (me, dh, and two teens) put the phone back when we're done. I'm glad we started that habit because I can see how looking for the phone would be a definite drawback!

I'm with you. Making phone calls always seems to end up at the bottom of my my to do list! But...when I do use it, I definitely walk around with it a lot, so even though I could certainly live without the cordless, it would be a very annoying adjustment.

I love my cordless phones, but we have a corded one next to the bed. My hubby keeps suggesting I replace it, but if there's no power and school is canceled, I want to hear that phone ring! :)

have to have my cordless phones! We had a set of three that we recently replaced with a set of 5. Makes no difference the kids never re-charge em. Sometimes when I remember I hide one.:rotfl: My husband recently learned that you can program the talking cordless phones to say what you want.:headache::laughing: Everyone has a new nickname.

Cell phones don't get service at our house so our cordless landlines are necessary.:thumbsup2
