"The Celebration" ... massive confusion, save my brain!

I keep reading about this "celebration." In so many multiple threads it's mentioned.

Now, I keep saying to myself, "Don't ask you'll figure it out eventually.. I'm sure it's really obvious.. think think think!" But it's been a few days now and I'm starting to feel crazy!

Probably the most incredibly dumb question (with the most obvious answer) ever asked on this forum:

What is the "CELEBRATION?"

5/5/05 is the start of the 50th bday celebration of Disneyland. They are celebrating this milestone at all the Disney parks throughout the world. So it does affect guests going to WDW.

There are new attractions and shows that will officially be open on May 5th. They include Soarin' at Epcot, Lucky the dinosaur will be temporairly at AK, Cinderellabration at MK, and The new Motor Stunt show at MGM.

Haha, yah tell me about it! I'm still wrapping my head around all the abbreviations. It's a whole new language, but one I'm more than happy to learn!

Actually, 05/05/05 is the date picked to start the celebration of the 50th anniversary of DisneyLAND, not Disneyworld. The actual 50th anniversary is 7/17/05, but 050505 has a nice ring to it I guess...
