Millie...those layouts are so colorful. I really enjoyed them! Can't wait to scrap my next Disney Cruise in May!

Currently, I have been putting my layouts in a folder until I purchase a 12 X 12 printer.

What sites do you recommend to print out the 12 X 12's? I have been looking around, but not sure if anyone has a suggestion. Also, I checked out Kinko's they want $8.00+ plus 24 hour wait time.

I just got some samples back from http://www.sbtoshare.com/ and they turned out really nice. The regular price is between $1.50 and $2.00 depending on the type of paper you want, and shipping is $5.00 for any number of prints. Good deal I think.:thumbsup2

Millie, . . . A best friend of my Mom's lived in Phillie and her husband was the head zoo keeper at the zoo. 2 new orangutangs came in and he named one with red hair Karen after me and the brown hair after his daughter Christine. My big claim to fame!:lmao:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: Loved this!
The thing is that I didn't go on this zoo trip but my niece asked me to make the kids a couple of pages so I did. Now I want to go!!!!!! ;)

a couple digital LOs done recently:

What is on the ledge of the cutout? It is looks kind of strange, almost like dog poo, but I'm sure thats not what it is.

It's rocks, sticks and other debris that came down from the upper levels of the falls. I don't think anyone wants to walk their dogs that close to the falls. :lmao:

I wondered what it was too..but the only thing I could think of was sticks and such!!!

Wow! Fran.. just a few more days til that little bundle of joy is here!!! ;)

That ticker is wrong and it's still too many days! LOL I'm having a c-section April 23, and saw my dr today and we begged for earlier and she said no. Now I just gotta hope to go into labor early! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I had that same feeling w/ my last one!!! I went in begging for a c-section.. little did I know that I'd end up w/ one!!!

How long do orangutangs live? Hopefully a long time. Because this had to be when I was 4 or 5 and that was oh so long ago!:rotfl2: Like maybe 47 years....:scared1:

I finished two more digital layouts:

Sunken Road, page 2:

The Cornfield

Cornfield2-SM.jpg

This one is a bit different from the others, but I *LOVE* the bottom picture I used. We went in June so the corn wasn't very high, but when the battle took place in September it would have been as high as the men's heads, making it very difficult to see. This is actually where the battle started. If you look closely in both pictures you can see the NY State and Maryland Monuments. This entire page would be from the perspective of the Union army since the photos are facing the Dunker Church. There were an estimated 8500 casualties from this phase of the battle. The fighting here was absolutely horrorific.

This will be first post anywhere on these boards! But I have really enjoyed reviewing all 64 pages of this post. You are all very talented - and make me wish numerous times to be at home working on my books instead of being at work! I have printed out layouts to scraplift at a later date. Our family has never been on a Disney cruise - but I printed out pages just in case we do one day!

Yzerbear19 - your layouts are great. You have a great photographer's eye and an appreciation for history. I grew up in Va. Beach and went to Williamsburg quite a few times - and even went I went 5 years ago I read all the historical markers like I had never seen them before - so I have enjoyed reading all of your journaling.

Its actual quite the challenge to get some of the photos because you drive around the battlefield and are suppose to stop at certain "spots," but my sister and I would stop more frequently because we saw what could be an interesting photo. A lot of the time it involved pretty abrupt stops. ;) This is how we got the cornfield photos because there wasn't a tour stop there, but it was such a neat view. I think I actually got out of the car though for those. Some are taken from the car. The best truly are the ones the driver takes while driving! ;) :lmao: I truly believe we annoyed some of the cars behind us because we did stop so much, though it was worse at Gettysburg. That tour is suppose to take you 2-3 hours. We took 6 and started to rush a bit at the end. I started my Gettysburg scrapbook the traditional way, but stopped when I realized that we are missing quite a few pictures, which is why we have to go back in less than a month! ;) I will have to see if I can get some pictures of those layouts, though they don't have the journaling on them.

Yzerbear19 your layouts have been giving me inspiration for the Washington DC album I need to do. They're beautiful!

Some more! :)

Antietam Title Page

TitlePage-SM.jpg

I really liked how the picture at the bottom of the Cornfield page turned out that I decided to use it again for the title page along with some lyrics from the Civil War Broadway musical. And some of you might actually recognize the lyrics. ;)

Cornfield Avenue Monuments: Confederate

Cornfield-CSA-SM.jpg

Some interesting information about the monuments. Both Georgia and Texas used the same design of monument at Gettysburg. There are fewer Confederate monuments because most of the monuments were built and paid for by the states or regiments. After the war was over, there just wasn't money in the south for such things.

I love all of these layouts!! Yzerbear--your pictures from Gettysburg and Antietam give me chills--those are terrific pages!!

Another new digital layout. This is of the William McKinley monument. President McKinley served at Antietam as part of the 23rd OH Volunteer Infantry and brought "hot coffee" and "warm food" to the troops during the batle and had to pass under fire to do so. The monument was dedicated 2 years after he was assassinated.

Thanks! :goodvibes All the digital layouts though are from Antietam. I started my Gettysburg book the traditional way, but haven't finished it yet and am actually going to wait until we get back in May to see which pictures we get that we didn't get the first time.
