WIP-Week-2-HM_web.jpg

So I have to ask you a question.
Your user name is macphrsn and your home town is about Henry Ford, hve you ever heard of MacPherson College in Kansas??? My dad lectures there about the restoration of Model T's and he works on Model T's for a living.

Is it just an odd coincidence or is there more to the story?

Buffy,

The MacPherson (macphrsn) was my Labrador's name, which really comes from my family's clan (my Grandfather was from Scotland).

I grew up in Dearborn, Michigan and my Great, Great Uncle (Robert Rankin) and Aunt worked for Mr. & Mrs. Henry Ford. My GG Uncle was their chauffeur and lived at the HF Estate in a cottage. My GG Uncle and Aunt were at his bedside when Mr. Ford died. My dad grew up playing at the estate and fishing with the old man, who he later found out was Mr. Ford.

Most of my family worked or works for Ford Motor Company, including my DH and myself. I grew up with cars and just love owning many (9). My dad had a 1928 Tudor Model A from the time I was a baby until I was a teen, then we began collecting Mustangs. I worked for Saleen (like Saleen Mustangs) and was a part of the Ford GT build team.

We live in a car collectors meca, always something new and exciting roaming the streets. Don't forget the Woodward Dream Cruise, awesome event!

Coincidence, yes! Has your dad ever been to Dearborn to the Henry Ford Museum or the Automotive Hall of Fame (my Dad volunteers at the Hall of Fame). There are tours of the HF mansion, we just love the estate. I'll have to post my 3 pages I did on it.

That is so cool that your dad lectures on the Model T and restores them as well.

Thanks for asking!
Cindy

Yes, my dad has been to the Ford museum many times. In fact he restored an engine for them not long ago.
DH and I used to own a 1926 Fordor Model T and my dad currently owns 5 different Model T's now. I'll have to repost pics of the party we have here every fall. we also host a huge pre 1930 car show at Mystic Seaport, I do know that one of the guys from HF museum came out for the 100th anniversary of the Model T. We had a car from every year that Ford was in production before 1930. It was very cool!

Here's a few pics. The green truck in pic #3 is my dad's. Well technically it's my little brothers but he's too tall to drive it now. They built that one from scratch.

Oh, that's so sweet of you! Here are a couple of my other DLR trip faves. These are older, as I did most of the album in 2006 and am just picking up the stragglers trying to finish up before our Jan. 2008 trip to WDW. The rest of my work can be seen at Scrapaddict.com in the gallery under the user name "pixleyyy". Here's a direct link:

You might notice that each page has a Mickey head on it ... some of them hidden, some obvious. The kids love looking through the album trying to find the hidden Mickey's. :)

Loving these LOs - and the hidden mickeys :thumbsup2

My carts from the CreativeXpress sale included the My World cart, and I really like it. I used the African mask and pot for my Boma pages. The "Boma" lettering is good old George:).

Ok, I had no problem resisting the Cricut craze... Until I saw Kim1964's pages! Those are great!

I guess it's one more thing to add to my Chrismas list!

Thanks, Lanie!

Here are a couple of more that I finished today. I know I scraplifted the Al's Toy Barn idea, but I can't remember where I saw it so I can't give credit where it's due. I used SIX cartridges for this one:

-Topper letters, Mini Monograms
-Film strip and stars, Mickey and Friends
-Al's Toy Barn, Mickey Font
-the barn, My World
-spaceship and cowboy hat, Paper Dolls
-autographed tags, Jasmine (I think.....I took them pre-cut to WDW in August)

I'm not sure it shows in the photos, but the yellow paper is embossed with stars:).

That is a really cute layout. Well done! :thumbsup2

I really like the AK photo collage....I may have to try something similar when I get to those pages:).

Thanks

I really like this.

Here are pages 102 and 103 for 2007. I got sick of working on the Disney album so I worked on Christmas instead. The blank red box is where the journaling (which I completed but didn't put on yet for privacy sake) will go.

Great pages Kim..

Can I scrap lift that?... I so have the photos that would fit w/ that..even though are tree if fake.. I'm scared to death of real trees and fires...

Wow, nobody has ever asked to scraplift something of mine..........please, feel free!!!! The trees were cut from Paper Dolls (traditional tree), SYI (the green with red Stickles ornaments), and Christmas Cheer (all the other trees). I ran some of them through my Xyron and then used Martha Stewart glitter on them. The title is Mini Monograms.

Yeah Kim!!
I have Paper Dolls and Christmas Cheer..

I'll let you see it when I finish it.. hopefully before mid-Jan.. (have to order the photos first!)

Here are my first two pages in 2008:

Here's a closeup of the sleigh page. The sleigh, Merry Christmas, and some of the gifts were cut with Christmas Cheer. The other gifts and the journaling box are from Stretch Your Imagination.

I love those, and you have inspired me to try out my SYI cart! I haven't used it yet!! Those pages are beautiful! :)

These are great designs, you guys! I'm so inspired to get back to my scrapping. I was doing physical scrapping before and came up with a big disney book. But now I think I'm more into digital scrapping.

Just curious... some of the examples of y'all's work that you've shown. It's pretty obvious when a picture is taken of a scrapbooking page from an angle while it's laying on a table or something that it's a physical page. But these images that are dead on face forward and trimmed to just the page -- are those all digital scrapping? Or is there some way to tell?

I'm not saying either is better than the other or anything. I'm just trying to know which is which. Thanks!
