Organization: different people organize in different ways. I have all my backgrounds together but separated into different directories by color, so if I want a blue background, I go to my Background > Blue folder and use the thumbnails and find something I want quickly. My embellishments are in an embellishment directory and then sorted into things like tags, ribbons, etc. Others sort differently, ie by designer or kit.

Printing: There are many websites that offer printing, a very popular choice if you have one near you is Costco, they print 12x18, so you can print a 12x12 and then 2 6x6 on the same page and it is very cheap, under $2/page. Then you trim it and put into a regular scrapbook. Some people add real embellishments as well or something like park souvenirs. There are dozens of sites that print pages for you, cost and quality can differ. sbtoshare.com is another popular choice with good quality.

Some people bought 12x12 printers, they cost $400-$500. Another very popular choice is to create at 12x12 and then print at 8x8 on a regular sized printer.

There are sites like mypublisher.com and heritagemakers.com and shutterfly.com that print coffee table books as well. You upload your images, which are your sb pages and then they print them in a hard bound book.

You can also print at local print shops, kinkos or staples. I made calendars for gifts for Christmas and had them printed at staples. They turned out beautifully, but they had hidden costs, and we didn't know until I picked up my calendars, which angered me, so I don't think I'll use them again.

And to add to Fran - I got my 12x12" Epson printer with a nice rebate from Staples -- with the rebate it was only 299.99.. And the quality is great. However, let me say that i also love to scrap 8x11 or 11x8, which you can just print out on any good photo printer. However, to finish up my disney album, i am going to try to get them printed on line, with a sale.. so they will be about 2.50 each.. But, i only have to print like 10 layouts.

As for what Fran said -- it's true. I have downloaded so many free kits - but unlike her, i have already spent about $30 LOL, however, for $30, i have gotten way more than i would have in a traditional scrapbook store!! And i am somewhat a shopaholic, lol. I am letting myself buy one new kit a week now. (Hey, 6.00 a week ain't bad!) LOL Although, i might use some tax money and buy a bunch i have my eyes on! LOL

Now.............. why won't they come out with a 12x12 scanner!!??

The digital scrapbooking pages are neat because you can do more with the photos, but my poor little computer at home doesn't like the digital scrapbooking. ;) I need more room on my hard drive. A lot of the kits are very large in size. I'm going to scrapbook our September 2006 Chicago trip digitally, but just haven't gotten around to finishing it. I did one page that turned out really cool, but haven't really had time to work on the rest. Its nice that you don't have the actual stuff cluttering up everything, but the large size of the files really clutters up my computer.

One more thing about organization, several people I know take the contact sheets that come with many kits (small pics of all the kit pieces on one page) and print those at a draft quality, so they can look at the things they have too to help decide what to use.

And a 12x12 scanner would be heavenly!

Ok, haven't scrapped in a couple months... man I've been busy.. here are a couple pages with me trying to catch up :goodvibes

so after reading all your raves about digital i have decide to give it a try, i checked some sites and got some basci ideas on how to start. i currently have in my computer the following programs : microsoft Picture It, Microsoft digital image editor, and i have the trial version of corel Paint shop pro XI,
now will ANY of these be useful? or do i need to purchase another type of software to be able to do the digital LO?

any help is so welcomed seeing that i have no clue how to do this. I also looked at the tutorial on two peas in a pod but some of the things make no sense to me ( mind you i just started editing with corel so i am not all that familiar with all its tools) like when it says to use your loop tool??? :confused3
please anyone guide me!!!! i need serious help! i have a ostco near me me so printing isn't an issue, i need to be able to make the pages first:rotfl: also i know this is getting ahead of myself but once i do a page do i save it on a disc to be able to take it to cotsco? or do they have a website to upload to like snapfish w/ in store pick-up?

sorry to sound so naive but i am really interested and really clueless:sad1:

thanks!

Nothing super exciting, but here are some of the layouts I've done this month. Trying to get caught up before we go on our next Disney trip.

Mary

Not to scare you but you really shouldn't have last names posted in layouts for viewing on the internet. There are just too many crazies out there.

I loved your layouts though...

Viv - i would check the scrapbook forum for the digital threads.. or post a new thread over here.. just to not hijack this thread, and i can help somewhat..lol.. I would suggest downloading a trial of PSE (photoshop elements) that is a very popular program due to effectiveness and cost. You can get it at www.adobe.com .
Again, definatley start a new thread in this forum, so we can keep the "digi chat" there.. ;)

Here are two layouts from today.. all digital.
Both use items from Seebies Freebies, and designer digitals.

Mary....see I told you......I saw your motion blur pic of the Astro Orbiter over on the Photography board. Very Cool!!

Mary-Love seeing all your pages!! We don't only post Disney layouts here, anything is fun to see. You should post over on the Photography Board, you take great pictures. Maybe one of these trips I will learn to slow down and take pictures of my surroundings. I always miss getting shots of buildings and signs.

One question-how did you get Belle's autograph on the picture?

:scared1:

Oh MY!!! I just realized I have tags!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never thought that would happen!!! And here I am posting on the Scrapbook page when I find I got a scrapbook 'dummy' tag!! :rotfl:
