I have lots of pins. They are all over the house. Some I received through trades, others were purchased. I already have 2 pin books, and are about to start on a third. It won't hold all of them, but I have to start somewhere.

I am looking for advice regarding some of the pins I have. I have a bunch of the Food and Wine pins from the last few years. They are new, still sealed in their bags. The issue is that they are pinned to cardboard that is an extension of the pins. I am sure you have seen them. One of them is where the pin is the table and the cardboard appears as the tablecloth hanging off of the table. What do I do with these? Do I remove them from their bags? Do I also remove them from their cardboard and just mount the pin in the book? It sort of bother sme to remove a "part" of the artwork, even though it is just cardboard. On the other hand, were I to save the cardboard and mount it in the book, I fear it may just look kind of weird and take up too much space.

Then there are all the other Limited Edition pins that are on cards that state that. I am leaning to just remove them from the black cards and just trash them. Does anyone bother to keep them?

Sorry for the rambling. All thoughts appreciated...... Paul

Okay, I was hoping more people with more experience would jump in and answer here but well...here is my take on the whole thing.
I as a rule, do not keep the backs but I have pondered the issue. See, I said I don't keep the backs but for my two topiary pins I did because they have cool info about the topiary on them but it really really drives me nuts because it takes up a lot of extra space and the backs aren't as cool as the pins. Plus, it could add something if you ever wanted to trade them. If it is really nice or adds something, you could leave it on. Sometimes, i keep the back but put it somewhere else for safe keeping. Mostly, I don't.

As to the pesky little black cards, I only keep enough to send off with trader pins or they are gone!

Well, hope this rambling made sense and gave you some ideas.

(besides telling that duckfan person to not post!)
