I was wondering what the cabins are like at Disney. I've never stayed there before. They seem very cozy. So what are they like? Is it easy access to the parks and the rest of Disney? Is it like a summer camp or do you get nice privacy? How romantic is it:flower3: lol? The cabins seem very nice and I was wondering what they're like. I'll be waiting for replies:surfweb:

Thank you:thumbsup2 :goodvibes ;) :)

The cabins are single-wide trailers with some wood siding nailed on them! :rotfl:

Ok, sorry, that wasn't nice, the cabins are actually very nice, better than summer camp but not as nice as a real cabin you'd find in the Smokey Mountains or some place like that. They are constructed from single-wide trailers, so they offer a lot of space... a living room that has a fold out bed, and a bedroom that has a bed and a set of bunkbeds, one bathroom, and they have a kitchen that is fully loaded. Just make sure you're the type of person who enjoys the outdoors and then you'll probably like it. Personally, I hated every second of it and couldn't wait to go home... but I'm not really into the secluded woods type feeling, and I ruined two pairs of my best sandals tromping through the rainy mud going to the bus stop. So pack your suitcase like you're going outdoors and you'll be better prepared. Also make sure you either have a car or rent a golf cart because it's a long way to the food area! ;)

We stayed in one several years ago. WIth three kids, we enjoyed the extra space, full refrigerator, and stove. It was also quieter than traditional resorts in that there aren't folks using corridors right outside your room.

The drawbacks are now spread out the resort is; my DH didn't like having to deal with internal buses in addition to the buses to get to parks.

The buses never bothered me, but I'm not the kind of person who rushes around anyways. I figure the parks wont be going anywhere :goodvibes

If you are the kind of person who wants to be there yesterday, you can reserve a golf cart. They are a lot of fun and make getting around a breeze! :thumbsup2

We loved the Fort Wilderness Cabins. We have stayed there 3 times.
The kids had the bedroom with the double bed, bunk beds and separate vanity. DH and I loved being able to have them in bed, with the dooor shut while we had the entire living area to relax in. The Murphy bed was very comfortable.
We loved having the full kitchen. We ate breakfast in each morning and had snacks and cold drinks when we returned.
We are not terribly outdoors people, but we loved the Campgroud. It has a wonderful feel, is very quiet and everyone is so friendly. We didn't mind the bus system either.
The boat to the MK was great fun.
I would go back anytime.

LOL my post makes it sound like the busses take 3 years to get you anywhere. I would say transportation times are similar to what you would probably see at Coronado, and faster than some resorts like Saratoga Springs or Carribean Beach.
