So we are looking into staying here but we are wondering how you get to the busses... can we drive our car up to a stop and park it? We don't want to rent a cart as we wouldn't all fit on 1 cart. TIA

There's an internal bus system that will take you to either bus stop. If you are going to the MK, then you have to take the bus to the boat launch, cars are not permitted there. For the other parks, you can drive and park in the main resort parking lot.

As stated, the internal bus will take you to the buses to the park.
Check out the camping forum here on the DIS for great info about Fort Wilderness & the Cabins.

No. You will need to either use the internal bus system to get to the depot, walk, or use golf carts.

I stayed there a few years ago. I requested, and received, a cabin in the 2800 loop. It was a really easy walk to the buses that go to all the parks (except MK.)

We stayed at the Cabins with a group of ten. Ages 5 years old to over 70. No one needed a cart to get to the bus stops and from there, to whatever park they were headed to. In fact, one day, the "older folk" wanted to do a water park, went to the bus stop they thought they needed, got on there and to the water park to find out it was not opened yet so the bus driver took them to the other one but they didn't want that one so they went back to Fort Wilderness and spend the day at the beach there. The "youngsters" (we were in our forties) took our son and daughter-in-law and new (she was ready made at four) granddaughter to the Magic Kingdom and then we broke up and husband and I went to Epcot while son and family finished Magic Kingdom and then went back to Fort Wilderness to see the great grandparents and then met up with us at Epcot. We all walked or took Disney transportation. Never paid for anything extra. After the trip, everyone said a lot of the fun was just taking the transportation and meeting up all over the World.

I agree that is best to get details about the campground. And study a map so you aware.

I have stayed in a cabin and transportation was the biggest issue for us.

- You park your car right at your cabin which is great!
- You can not drive your car around the campground; walk, bus, bike or golf cart.

- You walk to the end of your loop to wait for the internal bus.
- You take this bus to everything in the campground.
- If going to MK the bus will take you close to the boat dock.
- Boat to MK.
- If going to other parks you will be taken to front of campground
where you will get off and transfer to another bus.
