Looking to plan a trip for President's week, family of 5. I wish we could at a different time, but with my wife a teacher and the kids in late elementary(DS), junior high(DS, DD) it makes it harder to pull them from school.

Previously all our trips were in the late January time frame back in 2012/2014 and loved it. I imagine we will be in for a shock with crowd levels and were spoiled making it a point to go at low levels in the past.

We would spend all the time at the parks and the room would be for sleeping. It will most likely be several years before we go again. Has anyone stayed at both and preferred one over the other? Cabins seem to offer more space, but the Beach/Yacht clubs are within walking distance to both HS and Epcot.

Thoughts? Thanks,

Really apples and oranges.

While it is a very nice campground, it's still a campground, a cabin in the woods with more challenging transportation anywhere. BC/YC is a resort with not only resort amenities but parks close by. Transportation is needed only for two other parks.

The difference between the two is about $500, trying to decide if it is worth the upgrade for the convenience. I am not enamored with the idea of a campground, if I wanted to camp I would do it in the summer, locally.

I would go for the YC/BC for the convenience. Also, our family is fine sleeping/living in a single room. WE like the YC/BC location very much!

Assuming that your sons are fine sharing a bed, DD could have the day bed and the adults the other queen, so sleeping arrangements would be fine there. If the two boys need separate sleeping surfaces, then the cabin would better, as it has a queen bed, bunk beds and a pull out in the Living room. Either option only come with the one bathroom. The cabin has a full kitchen which is nice for breakfast, quick meals or snacks at the end of the day.

If you plan to be gone all day in the park, then the resort amenities are not really an issue. Transportation might be something to consider, though. As HopperFan mentioned, the transportation from the YC/BC is better than that from the campground. You can walk or boat to two theme parks - very nice!!! At FW you will have to first get transportation to your transportation to the parks. It is an extra step that may (or may not) bother you.

The rooms at the YC/BC are not huge. I would pick the YC because you are more likely to get a room with a daybed and a full balcony, which will mean as big a room as possible and a little outdoor space for someone to go to when waiting for others. If having extra space matters to your family, the cabins may be the better choice as you will have a bit more room to spread out as well as an outdoor deck.

Only you can decide how much money it is worth to you to upgrade, but, FWIW, it would be worth the $500 to me. YMMV.

If you have a car, the cabins are a great choice, but if you don't have a car, I would say YC/BC because of the increased time of transportation.
