We stayed there with our family of 6 and mostly loved it. For the most part, the "remoteness" was a plus, and not a negative.
My ONLY complaint:
We were a party of 6 and housekeeping gave us exactly 6 bath towels. We were there for Marathon weekend and some of us were running races every morning, so we were probably showering a lot more than most guests and just wanted more towels. So we asked housekeeping for more. We left the cabin, and there were MANY extra towels when we got back, so I don't know how long it took for them to give us the extra towels.
The next morning I took the extra towels we hadn't used and put them inside the bathroom cabinet so we'd have them for our later showers. Housekeeping came while we were gone....and took the extra towels and left us with exactly 6 again!! So I had to call again for more towels. And this went on every day, even though I left notes asking them to please leave us extra towels.
The night before the marathon, I called at about 7 pm to ask for extra towels (again!!) and by 10 pm, still no one had arrived with more towels. I had to go to bed--I had to wake up at 2 am for the race! I kept calling "the front desk" (which we all know really isn't!) and they kept insisting that someone from housekeeping had just left "the front desk" and was on her way. One person even told me the employee's name and insisted that she had left earlier to bring me my towels. I told them they needed to send out a search party to check on her because apparently she had been wandering around in the dark for over 3 hours!
Finally, a maintenance man showed up with some towels. I told him about this "missing housekeeper" and he told me that particular employee wasn't even working that night.
And yes, I realize that when you call the "front desk" you're really speaking with someone at a call center and if I wanted to speak with a real FW employee I should have gone down to the real front desk--but it was dark and about a half mile walk to the front, and I was already showered and ready for bed, and they kept insisting that someone was on their way and would be there any minute...
