Um, when you refer to people that have childen as "breeding" it's a insult and extremely rude.
uhh that is what you are doing when you have children. Human are animals and animals breed. Don't see how it can be rude or insulting.

While I think it would be nice for able bodied adults to give their seats to the elderly, the young, or the very pregnant, I don't think it's required.
Which I think is part of what a lot of you are missing.
After reading only about 10 posts, I'm so very happy to say I have never ridden a Disney bus and now certainly never will. Whether I'm staying on property or not, I will do whatever is needed to ensure I drive myself/family to and from the parks. NONE of this experience (just missing a bus, waiting for buses, fighting over seats, struggling with stroller/packages, smelling other stinky people) is worth the 'free' ride.![]()
So, people who do not reward you for breeding by giving up their seat have no conscience or morals?? It's your choice to have small children so close together in age. It's also your choice to wait for another bus, so those small children can sit safely.
I never expected anyone to give up a seat for me when I had a toddler in tow. I would always wait for the next bus. Always.

I understand the biologically humans are classified as animals. But some of us believe humans are better than the rest of the Animal Kingdom. I found the word breeding insulting too and I think many (not all) would agree with me.

) and look at them as part of our trip. Its also nice to have an adult beverage without worrying about driving
. I'm a little surprised at some of the posts here. There is nothing wrong with waiting for the next bus. You should however not think that because you have more kids and gear than you can handle that I'm going to give you my seat. I can stand for 1/2 an hour with my ONE kid and my bag while DH holds the stroller. When you have more than 2 kids your ratio of Adult:Kid: Free hands goes down but that isn't my issue. It's the same thing with pregnant people. If you came to Disney you knew what was going on, i'm not giving you my seat. If we were in a city public transportation system I would though.
It's okay to be courteous in one zip code but not another?I understand that biologically humans are classified as animals. But some of us believe humans are better than the rest of the Animal Kingdom. I found the word breeding insulting too and I think many (not all) would agree with me.

Thanks! Some people just do not have any class....![]()
I have difficulty understanding this dichotomy. Why help someone in a city public transportation system, but not WDW? Shouldn't your same logic apply to both rather than be so inconsistent?
Perhaps there's something I'm missing since I'm not a big user of public transportation. It's okay to be courteous in one zip code but not another?
I actually said that. If you read carefully, I said "willing and able". WILLING is the key word. You're right, if they are not willing, that's okay.
And if you enter a bus and the entire bus is compomised of guests who are neither WILLING OR ABLE to get up, then that's life. My guess is that most guests who find themselves in this situation will stand rather than try to get off the bus and wait for the next one or catch a cab. It's not that big a deal.
Just because I think others should give up their seat if they are BOTH willing and able, doesn't mean that they have to do that. I get this and I apologize that it's taking so long for you to understand this. I am having such a difficult time understanding why you're taking such a hard stance on this issue. Earlier in the thread, you claimed you gladly give up your seat when using public transportation at home, but at Disney guests should just wait or not get on if they have young kids or are elderly, etc.. Why should there be a difference?

speaking of being insulting.... pot meet kettle.

Now, I remember why I only read the community board. Adult discussions, banter on both sides of any topic without crying about it.
As I sign off, let me just say I always give up my seat to those in need. I just don't appreciate the feeling of entitlement and expectation some tend to hold. My point all along.
Because if you can't stand on the bus how are you walking around the parks all day. You are traveling to a place knowing full well you aren't completely capable.
Where as someone living a major metropolitan area really has no other choice because owning a car in those areas are more of a luxury than a necessity.
If i were pregnant and going to the world I would rent a car. If not stand on the bus and deal with my choice.
I'm not trying to change your mind, but the posts you see on this board have not been our reality at all on the buses. Most of the time people are kind, excited to be on vacation, chatty, friendly, etc. Not always, but most of the time, I have seen young adults give up their seats for the elderly and toddlers. I have also seen Moms put their kids on their laps to free up seats for others. We like the Disney buses (except when we have to wait a long time for one) and look at them as part of our trip. Its also nice to have an adult beverage without worrying about driving
