I was wanting to know if anyone has taking the bus from the ticket center at disney world to sea world? Did you like it or was it a pain to use. I can't decide if we want to rent a car of 3 days and go to sea world or just take the bus. If you could please help me with the pros and cons of both. thank you
Disney to Sea World:
1. The cheapest is by bus: Take #50 LYNX bus from TTC or Downtown Disney to Sea World
Click here to link to the LYNX schedule It leaves TTC at 1 minute and 31 minutes after the hour (running every 1/2 hour from 6:31 am - 12:01 am) and leaves DTD at 19 and 49 minutes after each hour. You can return at 10# and 40# after the hour from 5:40 am to 11:10 pm It is $2.00 each way for an adult and $1.00 for a child (young babies may be free).
2. You can arrange a Shuttle through
Mears Transportation I think it should be $19 pp round trip
3. You can get a cab, Mears' fare estimator indicates it is about 10 miles from Epcot to Sea World with an estimated fare of $25 each way, so if you have 3 people, the cab is cheaper than the shuttle. When we did this, it was a tiny bit less. They have big cab vans which I think cost the same as the ones that look like yellow town cars.
4. You can also schedule a towncar for $37 each way
This
link should get you to a PDF of their current prices
5. You can rent a car right at Disney for about $35 pd - check out
Mousesavers for latest Coupons I considered that but I've never driven in Orlando before.
We took the bus. We wanted to depart from downtown disney because we could arrive there later, but Disney does not run busses there early in the morning. We lucked out because while we were waiting for a bus to the TTC to catch it, another bus stopped by and the CM said they were going for some weird reson to DTD so we had a private ride there! That was just luck though, it would have been fine to go from the TTC. There is a thread from last year with a picture that shows you exactly where to go from the TTC to catch the LYNX bus. The LYNX busses are very nice, clean, uncrowded - at least when we went. There are a lot more stops than show on the schedule, but we just asked the driver to tell us when to get off and he was happy to do so. Then you just have to cross the parking lot. We did not mind taking the bus out there in the morning, but did not want to mess with it on the way home when we were hot and tired, so we took a cab. I briefly considered renting a car, but I enjoy not having to drive on vacation. If you enjoy driving, I know others say that it is easy to get around. Everything appears to be well marked, so I don't think it would be too difficult to navigate.
I hope this is helpful!
