Saw Waitress on Broadway last night, let me tell you it get so good to be back in a theater. Show was fabulous!

This is not quite the same as what you were able to experience being in the audience, but here is a clip of the curtain call for Waitress with Sara Bareilles giving a tribute to Nick Cordero (who was an original cast cast member,) with his wife, Amanda Kloots.

The Come From Away Broadway cast performed ‘Welcome to the Rock’ on GMA this morning. They are coming back to Broadway in about a week and a half.

Come From Away is up on Apple TV for those who have it. I already watched it this afternoon. I saw the touring production a few years ago.

We had Hadestown in our season last year, which is of course now next year LOL.
Tomorrow night we see The Music Man at the dinner theater. Our first inside show in 18 months! Excited to finally see it. It will be weird to be in a full crowded building again though, not as excited about that.

Curtain Up! will take place Friday, September 17th through Sunday, September 19th outdoors in Times Square, stretching between 45th and 48th Streets.

After an 18 month shutdown, Broadway is officially RE-OPENED!



4 shows re-opened tonight: Hamilton, Chicago, Wicked,
and The Lion King. Lackawanna Blues started previews for a limited engagement through Oct 31.

Tonight's performance:

The TKTS booth has reopened also today. Junior's Restaurant at Broadway & 49th St is back. The kitchen isn't fully opened yet. But, they did have their famous cheesecake. I snagged a slice.

More re-openings in the weeks to follow.

Glad to see this thread is back to it's regular postings again. For the past year and a half, all I wanted to do was to keep this space open with the hope & vision that we'd get Broadway back to (a near) normal again. Took longer than we all expected, but we're finally here. Now, it's back to you guys.

We're debating on whether to see Moulin Rouge as originally planned, or The Lion King. Maybe BOTH!

Go see something at the Curtain Up event if you guys are around. I know someone who is working it. All the staff are vaccinated AND Covid PCR tested to make sure they are ultra safe to interact with. Although, it is also mainly outdoors. There will be performances, sing-alongs to participate in, and interactive experiences to attend.

I’m very excited about Curtain Up! I’m heading into the city today for the weekend with a friend and we have tickets to Waitress this afternoon, but have plans to attend Curtain Up and the finale concert tomorrow.

The last time I saw a Broadway show was in November 2019. I did see a few tours in Providence and Boston before everything shut down (the last being Hello Dolly in March 2020). Two weekends ago I went to see Mamma Mia at Theatre By the Sea in RI and it was amazing being back in a theatre again after so long!

I am a subscriber at Providence Performing Arts Center so Our season opens in about three weeks with Pretty Woman, and then I also have tickets to Six in November and Company in January.

I wish I lived close to NYC, but I try to get up there to see a show or two once a year. The last show I saw was Six during previews in February 2020 with my daughter and a couple of friends. It was fun and high energy then, I'm sure it'll be even better now.

We have tickets to Music Man next May (I forgot to move my dates back to January after the 3rd date change :/) and I'm hoping to get tickets to see Beetlejuice the same weekend.

I am a subscriber at the Kennedy Center and our first show is Hadestown in a few weeks. Can't wait!

Live performances is the thing I have missed most about Covid. There is just NO substitute. Thrilled to be taking DH to NYC for his birthday weekend. Just booked tickets for Moulin Rouge and Waitress with Jennifer Nettles in the lead. We love her, so that's going to be a special treat. So excited!

If those of you in the know hear of anything exciting going on the weekend of November 12-15, be sure to post it here. Before that we have tickets for Rent and Hadestown soon after here locally.

How does the proof of vax work with the Broadway shows? Do you just bring your card and show it to get into the theater?
I'm hoping to see Phantom of the Opera but I have to look to see if it's even playing.

Saw both Come From Away (for the 4th time-minus viewings on Apple TV) and The Lion King (for the second time) this past Sunday October 3rd. Both shows were as always superb. They actually now have security systems similar to WDW! And Lion King stamps your hand after your initial vaccine card and ID check so you can put it away. Carmine’s my friend and I were able to walk in no reservation needed. Mask compliance was impeccable and the ushers constantly made sure. Please support these shows if you are in the area and can afford to. Even tho both were between 85 and 95% capacity, the winter is going to be brutal. Please support them.

App or card, they checked mine against my ID, and checked the dates of the shots.

I’ve seen waitress and Chicago same process at both. All indoor NYC activities including restaurant now require this as well, this places just checked the app or card not my ID.

Yep app or card. Though they did accept my parents picture of their card at juniors last month, and the excelsior app only works if you got it in NY. My best friend was finishing college in PA when she got hers and she could not get the excelsior even tho she lives in NY
