I didn't (and won't) see it, but I have only heard glowing things about his performance. Who would you bump from the category in order to include him? (I haven't seen School of Rock or Fiddler yet--though I have tickets to--and I won't get to see She Loves Me, so I only have the Hamilton men to go on.)

Honestly, there really isn't anyone. I haven't seen She Loves Me, and wasn't expecting Zachary Levi to take that spot. I'm fine with it though, as I've heard amazing things.

I am CLOSE to buying a last minute ticket to School of Rock tonight, but I can't find anyone to go with me! I dont' mind seeing shows alone, but it's not even a great day for me to see a show. I'm just in the mood and I know it will be so electric tonight. I'm hoping one of my friends comes through!

I haven't seen enough to make to many judgements, but overall I'm happy with that I've seen and how it was nominated.

I am trying to find a date to see American psycho so in hoping it hangs on a little longer.

Only shocker I saw was Jennifer Hudson not getting the nomination. Besides that everything was with in the realm of my expectations.

I do think American Psycho will be closing soon. They didn't even have good reviews to pull sound bites from to help them along. At least Tuck can continue to market itself as a family friendly night of entertainment and has some good reviews to back it for a little bit. I say Tuck makes it through the summer and American Psycho less than that.

Gosh I hope it hangs in there through the summer. I have tickets for the end of August... On that note... what happens when you buy a ticket for a show that closes before your booked time? I have never thought of that before...hmmmm.

You get a refund back to whatever you bought it on. People who paid in cash for future sales have to deal with company directly.

Yeah, we're supposed to see it next Friday, and I'm sure we'll get to. But the abrupt closing notice put up by Disaster made me nervous!

Yes, indeed. It's been limping along financially since it opened, and then when it only got one Tony nod yesterday (best featured actress), it very quickly put up a notice that the last performance will be on Sunday.

Kinda sad I won't get to see disaster, but maybe it's better this way.... But I do love Adam pascal!

Anyone else see Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp will be at 54 below in October for a few shows.

Crazy day yesterday. Tony nominations in the morning and Basie nominations in the evening. Basies are the Tony's for Monmouth county high schools here in New Jersey. I have been working with a high school group since 2001. Basies have been around for 11 years. This high school has won the Best Musical award twice. They are nominated in 9 categories this year including the one I am in Best Costume (this is the first time my name is on the nomination so I am thrilled.)

Picture the Tony's with a group of high school students. It gets very loud but a lot of fun. Two weeks from today. Now we have to find out what number they are doing and get them all dressed.

We'll try the lottery for Saturday night and Sunday matinee but know it's a long shot and are willing to wait in the cancellation line. Does anyone know how early people tend to get in line to have a good try?

People camp out for the cancellation line, it's nuts. Lately there have been people getting there before the previous evening's show has ended. There's even a service people hire to wait for them - but it's several hundred $$ and there's no guarantee you'll even get tickets. To be honest, you're better off going to StubHub or Ticketmaster resale at this point, unless you're willing to camp out all night for the cancellation line.

The cancellation line gets very few tickets since they allow resells through ticketmaster. You have a better shot at getting a moderately priced ticket on ticketmaster resell if you book it now rather then waiting until day of or doing cancellation line since in that case I would could every hour of vacation missed towards the "cost" of the ticket. You can wait until day of and check resell but sometimes those tickets spike because they know people are desperate but you may get lucky that it is just someone who is sick or their baby sitter cancelled or whatever and they aren't looking to turn a profit just make back cost and fees.

I saw Waitress last night. OMG is it cute! I have never hated a character more than Earl so I guess the actor is doing a good job in the role. It is a hilarious ends up being a feel good time. I put it in 2nd on my list of the season for new musicals I've seen. So right now I have Hamilton, Waitress, (very closely behind) School of Rock , Tuck Everlasting, On Your Feet. I have not seen anything else but the fact I'm not rushing to see them speaks to where they would most likely fall on the list.

Usually you'd have to sell a kidney to afford the resale seats but I got lucky and found someone selling orchestra seats for just over $350 for early April, so it can happen. The seats I had when I saw it the first time (back in Labor Day weekend) are now listed for Ticketmaster resale for almost $4000/ticket. I just can't imagine. I could spend three weeks in Europe for what my tickets would cost now.

Yikes! I'm happy keeping my kidneys And I'm happy buying a reasonably priced tickets to another show if Hamilton doesn't pan out. It's just a lark of a weekend trip and I know, given the recent Tony nominations and all, that it's probably going to be even harder to get tickets. But at least the lottery is worth a try. Someone's got to win those tickets after all. I'm preparing a list of other shows we'd want to see so we can be prepared to see what else we can find.

Definitely. The lottery odds are long but I'd totally play if I was in town. And if it doesn't come through, there are just a slew of other great shows playing right now. I've seen some great theater this year.

My daughter's friend lucked out in the Hamilton resale line a month or so ago. Lined up for a matinee around 7 in the am. Second in line and got a ticket. I think she was really lucky though.
