I was there. He missed the first rehearsal because his flight got in late but he did make it the second time they ran through it. I think both sides are partly to blame. But in Bret's latest statement he seems to be ok with the whole thing. He even apologized to the other Broadway performers. Hopefully there isn't a lawsuit.

He doesn't seem like the type of guy to sue over something like that. He's spoken about what happened a lot these past few days, and he never once put down the Tony's or tried to blame anyone; he plays it off like it was just an unfortunate accident. Plus he's got the hard-livin' rock reputation to live up to - suing over a Tony's mishap would ruin that completely!

I saw Shakespeare in the Park's Twelfth Night last night. My roommate won the virtual line tix on the Public Theatre's website, so we got to see it for free. Anne Hathaway was Viola, Raul Esparza is Orsino, and Audra McDonald is Olivia. It was so good. Twelfth Night is my favorite Shakespeare play, and the Public did a phenomenal job with this production! Go see it. Try the virtual line or go to the theatre early in the morning to get free tickets!

Cool, finally happy to see someone who won with that virtual line. I tried a bunch of times last year for Hair. I was going to try for 12th night but wasn't sure what the weather was going to be like.

Loved it! It was so good, I immediately told my BFF that I'd meet her in NY anytime to see it. I'm totally ready to go back, and I know I won't get DH to go more than once...

I thought all the actors were great. It was like Ariel just came to life from the cells of the film, Chelsea Morgan Stock moves exactly like the animated Ariel. And her singing voice is spot on. Sebastian (Rogelio Douglas Jr) is awesome. As is Ursula (Faith Prince, love her). Also loved Flounder (Brian D'Addario). And Flotsam and Jetsom are so much more interesting in the play than they are in the movie. The same with Ariel's sisters. Grimsby, who was great, is portrayed by Jonathan Freeman...who was the voice of Jafar in Aladdin.

"Part of Your World" brought me to tears. Ok, I'm a big dork...but the guy sitting next to me was wiping his eyes too! My favorite number was "Under the Sea". I also loved "She's in Love", the number that Flounder and Ariel's sisters did together. And "Kiss the Girl" looked exactly as it did in the animated film.

This production is bangin!

I'm glad you liked The Little Mermaid! I saw it at the very end of 2007 and thought it was cute but that's about it. I've been a huge Little Mermaid fan since the movie came out in '89 but I was unfortunately disappointed. It was cute, but I thought it was very cartoonish, which I guess wold make sense I was just expecting something more along the lines of The Lion King which is family friendly but still a mature production. I may be in the minority, but I hated the LM costumes! thought they looked ridiculous and like a bad high school production. I didn't like the new songs either, I can't even remember any of them. It was a fun show but it doesn't compare to other Broadway shows out there (including the Disney ones). It was the first show that I actually paid full price for in a while and it was nowhere near worth $120 to me, so that's probably why I didn't like it.

Just my opinion, I'm glad you liked it!

I took my mom to see Jersey Boys yesterday and all I can say is if you have not seen this show, run do not walk! This was FABULOUS!!! I want to go see it again! And Jarrod Spector, who played Frankie, is my new love

I'm seeing The Little Mermaid on Wednesday. Taking my two DD's and a neice. They are in their early 20's and we can't wait. Getting BBQ at Virgils before the show. As per a Dis recomendation. Thanks for the review. I am really excited.

We stayed in the Millenium Hotel, right across from Virgil's on 44th...smelled sooo good. We already had plans for dinner or we for sure would have gone to Virgil's.

Promised my DD (age 20) a 4 day, all theater trip this summer. She is a huge fan, so we've already seen Wicked, Lion King, Altar Boyz. She has requested the following shows:

In the Heights
9 to 5
August: Osage County
Billy Boyd

Would it be best to purchase tickets for all of them prior to going? Looking for the most economical way, but still want decent seats. Would love to catch Twelth Night, but that has a limited run, so we may not make that time frame.

Hi! If you want good seats, I would order tickets in advance. If you don't care about being in the back (most shows still offer great views from up there), most shows offer great discounts for the last row. We just saw In the Heights from up there for $40 and LOVED it! Granted we asked about cancellations during the intermission and were movied down to 7th row orchestra. Still the seats in the back were great and gave us a really good perspective of the stage since the dance numbers are so big. It's an amazing show!

I'd love to see 9 To 5 but the cheapest seats you can get now are around $65. Not bad but not great, especially when you have to add an extra $12 in fees. If you're really looking to save money, you could always pick up tickets at the box office to avoid all the extra fees, which is what we always do. My cousin just saw August Osage County and liked it. It's not one I want to see but I know it's on TDF for $35 a ticket for great seats. If you're a teacher, student or union member you can join TDF for $27.00 and get great discounts at shows throughout the year. You should check it out!

we saw August: Osage County last summer bought the tickets at the ticket booth. (They had plenty) I really didn't like it. We went with 12 of us and everyone was disappointed. Very depressing. My DD just saw Ave Q and loved it (same age) She said it was off color but really funny! For all that money I like to leave there feeling good not sad. But this is just me.

Just an FYI, check out www.broadwaybox.com. It lists discount codes from various sites for all of the shows. Also, some shows have lotteries and standing room only policies. There are lots of ways to see shows at a discount price.

Six times??? OMG! You lucky duck! I definitely want to see it again. I read online somewhere that Jarrod only signed a 1 year contract but I can't imagine him not staying on as Frankie. I think he definitely made the show.

Please let me know how Billy Elliot is...I am really not sure what it is about.
