~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Thank you for applying for the ING New York City Marathon 2009. Unfortunately, you were not selected in the lottery drawing. Please understand that we have to limit the size of the field to ensure a top-quality experience.

Dang it! Who told them about your totally uncool air cast????

That's too bad, I was looking forward to a mini-Bot-meet.

Colleen - First off...congratulations!! This is exciting!!! Secondly, Kathy Valentine lives right by the starting line. She can help you figure things out if you'd like. (And you like how I'm volunteering her services?? Hee hee.)

I'm not sure the air cast had anything to do with it. Honestly, they were probably a bunch of guys sitting around considering the entries... Colleen - attractive brunette, great mom, fast runner, nice form, etc. vs. Howard (a slow, recovering, unassuming yet handsome and intelligent man)

Dudes that didn't get in:

Howard
Lou
Charlie
Kevin F

Babes that got in:

Colleen

I think you see my point. :sad2:

Can we use her potty & hang out in her living room until the start?????popcorn:::rotfl2:

Not after I send Kathy a PM... :stir:
Go ahead...who do you think she'll believe has more credibility??? Some dude that calls himself MouseSkywalke and has 3,911 posts on the DISBOARDS, or a sensible person by the name of Jodi who clearly doesn't spend every waking moment chit-chatting with fellow posters?????

Did you know that they are excepting 58,000 registrants for the NYC Marathon!??!!:scared1: (Too bad, for Lou, Howard, etc. that only 10,000 of those come from the lottery)

Oh, and Matt and I have decided to run the Goofy again this year!! (Guess that means I should train for a fall marathon)

Make that 3,912. Your on my list Jodi, your on my list...

Really??? I'm getting tempted by Goofy for the first time.

Dave and Jodi :rotfl::lmao: keep this conversation going-- it's my only entertainment today

Join the dark side and run Goofy--- everyBOTy is doing it

Today is a kind of blah and rainy day here add to that the fact that I was up half the night with a puking kid  I'm a little off today. My stomach is a bit off too, so running may have to wait until tomorrow...

Registration Confirmation for:
2010 Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge

Dear Matthew,

Congratulations! You are now registered for 2010 Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge!

I'm so excited about the Goofy. Even though it was really tough, I loved it and it was probably my favorite race overall. It is also far enough away now, that I still have plenty of time to train and I don't have to stress about it yet.

Other than that training is going well, I feel like I'm hitting my marathon training groove for Baltimore. In the last week or so I've run:

Saturday: 14 miles
Monday: 5 miles
Tueseday: 9 miles (4 miles at tempo pace)
Wednesday: 5 miles
Friday: 9 miles

Cindy and I are also running the race for the cure tomorrow, but it will probably be more stroll than run. Race for the cure in DC is usually so crowded that you sort of walk/shuffle/run for the first 1.5 miles or so.

It's kind of like getting into clubs. They don't want a bunch of guys. They want nice looking women that will bring in the crowds. It's discrimination!

I'm still on the fence about what to do. I contacted a charity in the Bronx that I kind of liked and they had openings if I commit to raising $2500 ($1250 by August 31). I am going to reach out to a few clients of mine that said they would pony up money for charity if I ran and see what they are willing to do. I sent out some "exploratory" emails to see what the interest it. If it's enough I may do it.
