~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

I'm all checked in on SW!! I can't believe I leave in 23 hours.

I have some questions.

1. Will I be able to get Gu at the Expo? I just realized last night that we are a few short (I've heard that the Disney expo can be somewhat lacking in typical running-related vendors).

2. How is the start of the half set up? Will we all stand around in some area and then move to the corrals? Or will people just go to the corrals once they get there? Will I be able to find you all?

Thanks! See most of you soon!

Lou, I'll have a beer for you on Sunday afternoon while watching the Chargers game!

Cindy -- We have always found LOTS of Gu at the EXPO -- the only concern may be whether they have the flavors you want/are used to.

As for the start, usually WISHers gather in the area that is through the tents where you drop off your bag. Once you get through the bag drop-off tent, it's like a huge port-o-pottty city -- just look for a sea of lime green tee-shirts. BTW, you don't have to drop your bag off real early. Chances are you'll be there an hour before walking to the corrals, so you can hold on to your bag for a while if you want. HTH!

Cindy
The Expo will be pretty well stocked. Not quite as big as MCM, but probably close.

There will probably be some W.I.S.H.'ers gathered at the "W" family meeting tent prior to going through the baggage tents.

After going through the baggage tents most everyone gathers to the "Left" side of the holding area.

See you tomorrow maybe,

Chester

Travel safely Cindy. Will I see you before the half start? Are you coming to the WISH meet at POP?

Just saw this Lou. Very funny! Will miss you at WDW.
Yeah...I'm still laughing at that commercial. My son and I keep finding new ways to phase in "????'s back baby....don't call it a comeback!" into anything we are talking about. Simple minds think alike.

WDW 2010 is looking good for me. You'll know how my business does in 2009 based on where I am staying for the 2010 marathon. If I am off property I am probably looking for a job. If I am at a deluxe I really will be singing don't call it a comeback!

Damn, I meant to check this out last night at home but forgot. Youtube is blocked at my office, which seems somewhat ridiculous since they haven't blocked things like facebook. I bet people waste way more time on facebook than they would on youtube.

Cindy and Chester,
Safe travels! Good luck in the 1/2, can't wait to here about it!

Lou, off to watch the youtube video again. (I didn't get it the first time.):rolleyes1

Jodi are you gone already?

Mike, you leave tomorrow, correct?

Cindy,Chester, Cam & Howard - Travel safe tomorrow:thumbsup2 !!

Lou - You will be missed and definitely there in spirit:grouphug: . Here's to hoping 2009 is a stellar year for your business:banana: .

Cam - Hope you're still feeling okay today:hug:

Dave - For some reason I think for the 1/2 there's no place for spectators at the start. I could be wrong so I think your best bet it to look over the WDW marathon program online at www.disneyworldsports.com

Best of luck to everyone running the 1/2 on Saturday:yay:

I guess I've gotta go look for a suitcase in the basement tonight:rolleyes1 . Have I mentioned lately how much I dislike auditors:headache: ? They must equally dislike an accounting professional who takes off to WDW every January during their annual audit:laughing: :confused3

Hey Bots!

I'm still here!! Leaving on an 8 a.m. flight tomorrow...too excited:banana:

Everyone travel safe...I plan to be @ the expo tomorrow around 1 or 2! If I don't speak with anyone beforehand, I'll see you all @ the starting line Sat. a.m. Canada, I'll see you Sat. around 11! Call me when you get in!

:yay: :yay:

We'll miss you, Lou:sad1:

You bet DOdo! :thumbsup2 Save travels and good luck!

Cam and Howard, have a good flight and a wonderful 1/2 marathon experience. Cam, I know you completed a great training plan for this, Good Luck and have fun!! See you Saturday.

Hey to everyone that's still hanging around.

Dave - I'm with Sara. I don't think the start of the half is spectator friendly. I'm not saying someone couldn't get there if they were determined, but it must not be easy because there hasn't been any scream teamers that I can recall until you get close to TTC.

Colleen - We depart tomorrow (Thurs) evening around 6:00.

Lou - Wishing for Grand Floridian in 2010.

Sara - Maybe you'll find a suitecase big enough to stuff an auditor in :thumbsup2 .

Well, I'm anxious to see everyone this weekend and feel bad for those of you that aren't joining in the fun. Safe travels all!

:surfweb:

It's 11:47 PM, Cam is packing the last suitcase upstairs and I am online waiting for the last bag to pre-load the Honda Pilot tonight before bed. Our flight leaves PHL around 6:30 AM, we'll be there around 4:30-4:45 AM. I think we are waking up at 3:30 AM. Ugh! :headache:

Cam's car was towed to the body shop today and the wheels of progress are turning as we speak. Hopefully it will be done or close to done by the time we return. I think the damage is set at $2,300. :headache:

Lou~ I will be thinking about you and the family back home in NJ while I am away. Thank you again for running with me, my last run before this coming weekend's events. I hope you'll be booking at Wilderness Lodge or the GF next year for the 2010 Goofy.

To everyone else, safe travels.. I really can't wait to see everyone and bask in the friendship and support I've come to both enjoy and depend on.

:grouphug:

Howard

Just wanted to WISH you all heading to WDW safe travels. Have a wonderful time. I look forward to hearing some great reports upon your return.

Good luck.
Cindy

Cindy - Enjoy the Chargers game and the weekend. Tell Matt I said GO CHARGERS! We'll drink beers after some race in 2009...assuming there are no changes in your family.

Colleen - If you don't get the video...don't worry. It's meant for simple minded guys like me so it's probably best you not get it. Good luck this weekend!

Sara - Thanks and have fun this weekend! I forgot...are you running, cheering, both? No matter what...enjoy the weekend!

Jodi - Have fun Jodi! How soon after the full will you be bailing out of WDW?

Mike - Thanks and here's hoping you knock out some insane Boston-qualifying time on Sunday. Go Browns! Get a GM!

Cam and Howard - Have an awesome this this weekend and this week! I'm sure I'll catch you both at the Caesar Rodney Allen Rippey Run in March. We'll have to get together after that race. (just got the application)

Dave - Can't wait to hear your Podcast review of the race.

Man, I just realized that it really stinks that I am the only one hanging back enjoying the cold weather this weekend. I won't make this mistake again next year.

If this week is any indication of the rest of 2009 then I feel real good about where I'll be staying next January. The phone has rang a lot this week and so far it's all good. Seeds that were sown in 2008 and even 2007 and sprouting up in 2009. I say this as I am knocking on my desk.

Have fun everyone and I'll be here manning the thread by myself until you all get back!

Lou

Hey Lou,

I am still around, not flying out until Saturday morning.

Yeah, I hear you about the pain about staying back. I REALLY shouldn't be doing this marathon (bad knee and all) , but I knew it would kill me to stay back. Next year I will be smarter and cheer with a bunch of WISHers. Last year, Sara and I planned to meet about 10 other WISHers on Main Street USA last year and cheered for the 1/2 marathoners and then went to about mile 12.5 and was there to see every last participant. That was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had at these races. I will definitely do it again.:thumbsup2

So when are you going to make your ressie at GF?

Oh, by the way, I heard from Cindy today. She and Matt made it with a few delays along on the way, but they were on their way to Expo.:)

Colleen - Yeah, I think I need to make this an annual pilgrimage. The experience running on Main St was amazing. I'm not booking GF just yet. Sorry about your knee.

Hi guys:yay:

Lou - Let's just say I am covering 26.2 Sunday, one way or the other:rolleyes1 . It's amusing for now, we'll see how  I'm feeling Sunday mid-morning:laughing: . Send up a prayer for me, okay:thumbsup2 ?! I wasn't a participant until a few weeks back, merely going to scream team, and Colleen is correct that spectating is such a great time:banana: Sorry you're hanging back this time around:hug: Looking forward to seeing you in 2010.

Colleen - Glad to hear Cindy made it safely:goodvibes . Safe travels tomorrow and I'm anticipating seeing you sometime this weekend;)

Tons to do today and tomorrow a.m. before I can jump on a plane:eek: . I guess I'd better get my head out of the sand about it and step up:confused3 . TGIF!!

Hey Lou, and any of the other Bots still around. I thought I'd fill you in on what's going on down here.

I picked up my rental car. Got a great deal from Alamo for $49 for the weekend for a premium car, and drove here to WDW. I checked into the Swan about 11:30a.

Here's my room #1113 at the Swan with a king sized bed
