~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Howard: Sorry about the accident, really glad that everyone is ok. You will forget all about the car when you hit Disney and as for the half-- your training is done by now anyway a few short runs skipped won't matter (at least that is what I keep telling myself :rolleyes1 )

Thanks to everyone for putting up with my whining. I feel way better today-- sleep is good :thumbsup2 I've got my first day off of work since the 1st and am finally able to get stuff done-- my Christmas stuff is away, the house is semi-clean and most of the laundry is done and ready for packing. I'm hoping to get a short run in tonight then we leave for FL tomorrow night.. I can't wait:cool1:

Chester - When are you throwing anchor & heading up?

Jodi
The dogs (Hairry and Myndi) and I will be leaving the dock at noon on Thursday. I'll set up camp and head over to the Expo that afternoon.

Tracy will head over on Friday and we'll hit the Expo again to pick up her (Sara's) packet. Then we'll head over to the Pop Century for the W.I.S.H. meet. Chet will arrive later and meet up with us.

Happy final tapering to all,

Howard- give my best to Cam. I'm so sorry that you have to deal with the accident, but I'm so glad she wasn't hurt at all.

Jen - I'm glad you are feeling better. I hope you are able to relax and enjoy Disney.

Chester - love the pictures.

Sara - good luck with the next few days!

Um, I just checked the weather for the first time:scared1: :scared1: Holy carp, its going to be way too hot!
You think? Weather Underground is saying that Saturday's high will be 70, but it should only be 50-something when we're running from 6-8am. That sounds good to me.

WHAT???????

Don't look. Its scary:eek:

I have to think of a way to prevent Matt from checking the weather. There's no way I'll get him to run the full if he knows its going to get that warm - he about died during the NYC Half.

btw, Matt asked if I told "the peeps" (that's how he refers to you all) that he was trying to back out of doing the marathon and I told him yes and that I had instructed you all to mock him.

That sounds much better than weather.com which has a high of 78. Although, I wasn't really concerned about the half (sorry Jodi, just freaked for a minute) but the full. It says a high of 77 on Sunday but since I will be running for much longer (maybe much, much longer), I imagine it will get into the high 60s or low 70s before we are finished. That's too warm for me.

But, it is Florida, so what did I expect?

Silly, silly girl...signing up for that Goofy thing ;) . Weather sounds great for swimming though....which is what I'll be doing when you're at about, oh...let's say, mile 14 or so? :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: Just a quick dip before I head off to the airport!

The temperature is not what's going to make it horrible - it's the humidity. Last weekend it was 65 degrees and 95% humidity when I started running. It got to 75 degrees and 65% humidity when I finished. The first 2 miles of my runs felt the hottest because of the humidity and because I was running with the wind and in the sun. Later, as the humidity decreased and the wind was in my face, it seemed cooler. Just be prepared to sweat a lot.

Man, I'm jealous of all you guys heading out to WDW. I REALLY WISH I could make it out there but it kind of worked out for the best. The Eagles were not in the playoffs last year and I would have been p!$$@d if I missed this Eagles/Giants game. Not to mention I would have been by myself because Nicole would have bailed out on me (watching me run vs. Eagles/Giants).

Sounds like the temps will be warm/humid. It will be tough for you cold-weather Bots but I'm sure you'll all do fine.

Mike - Sorry about the Browns. I thought Brady Quinn would be the answer but not sure anymore. The good news is that the Dolphins showed any team can turn it around in a season...better get a GM like Parcells.

Cam - Sorry about the fender bender. That stinks but glad to hear you are fine.

Don't ask me why but this commercial has been busting me up for the past few days...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBIWdPl4m0s& Jodi...if you were a commercial writer I think you would have come up with something like this (tie Washington, LL Cool J and cell phones together).

4 measly TM miles for me today. That's all folks!!!

Lou

Good Morning Everyone: :surfweb: I had a question about the start of the half. Can spectators be at the start? Any of you that have family and scream teamers with you, are they at the race start at all? Thanks.

Dave - I didn't run the 1/2 last year but assume the start is similar to the full. Last year Nicole, her sister, and BiL waited for me just past the starting gates on the road outside of Epcot. I saw them before Mile 1 and again before Mile 4 because we looped around. When I run again I think I would coordinate with them to make sure we are clear what side of the course (left or right) I will run on so that they can position themselves better. We got lucky in that I ran right past them but it would have been tough to spot me if I was on the other side of the road because of the mob.
