I was just able to score a $10/day car rental on Alamo for marathon weekend through an e-mail for their hot deals. It's $10/day for economy through premium, 4 days maximum, Saturday night required. Corp ID#7014691 Rate/Product Code: WKND.

I basically just need to vent, so here it is: my parents are supposed to be our sitters for marathon weekend and planned to come with us and entertain our 5 year old for 24 hour stretch Sat night into Sunday night while we freak out (I mean sleep) prior to the full and then while we run. My dad went for a stress test today due to some chest pain he has been having and unfortunately, he failed. He now is getting a cardiac cath on Friday. He thinks he will still be able to come, I'm not too sure and am having a panic attack over sitting because we won't really know until after his test on Friday, not much time to prepare when we leave for Disney late Wed night. I know there is nothing anyone can do and I really do hope my dad does well above all, but the timing on this one really blows...

So deeply sorry for your Dad's health issues Hopefully the cath will go smoothly and it won't interrupt the plans. I'll pray for him this week and please try not to stress too much about this yourself, although considering the situation it's hard to avoid doing so . It'll all work out in the end

Alamo is onsite at WDW. Even better than marathon weekend, I was able to score the same sweet rate for my long weekend in Fort Lauderdale later in the month as well

Got it! I wondered if it was offsite too, but when I saw Alamo is the official WDW car rental company, I thought it HAD to be right at MCO. So yes, 2 days $34.09 all in!!

Off to yoga this morning and maybe 10 miles later today.

Oh, Jen, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Prayers will go out to your family. As for next weekend, just take things one step at a time, I am sure things will work out in the end.

Sara- Thanks for posting this. I got the e-mail from Alamo right before I left to take DD10 to tae kwon do. I switched my reservation from Avis, and got a premium car for 3 days for $49 tax included. And yes, Alamo is right in the MCO terminal. I used them when I went down for the weekend a couple weeks ago. They were great, and the girls loved the PT Cruiser we tooled around in.

My DW just found the Twilight Zone marathon too. I went out for a run today. We woke up to TONS of snow. We must have gotten a foot out there. I think we're staying home this evening too.

I can’t believe Disney is coming up so soon.
I’m not feeling very prepared for the Goofy, but I’m not too concerned – I think finishing and trying to actually take in the experience will be enough for me this time around.

Matt and I did have a great time in San Diego.

My running was minimal. I ran 10 on Saturday (5 mile loop around a lake in San Diego – it was actually a great place to run and I would have run farther if we didn’t have family obligations) and Matt and I ran in the Holiday Bowl 5k on Monday. That’s all the running I did in San Diego. Ran 4 this morning.

We did a nice boardwalk 5K in Ocean City, NJ today. The best part of the race was watching all of the crazies jump into the ocean after the race for the polar bear swim... I happily stood on the boards and watched

I'd appreciate any good wishes you guys can send my way tomorrow for my dad's cardiac cath-- I get up bright and early to drive him to the hospital at 5:30 am, so I think running is out tomorrow.
