A couple of questions...
Is this a Landry's owned restaurant?
Any reviews on it?
Did anyone take an amphicar ride?

Thanks :)

Here's some chat http://www.disboards.com/threads/the-boathouse.3459710/

The BOATHOUSE is managed by the internationally renowned and award winning Gibsons Restaurant Group, celebrated for exceptional food and extraordinary service.

If memory serves, many folks find the Amphicar ride too expensive for the experience.

Not Landry's.

Didn't do the amphicar (either they don't run at night or the weather didn't permit it) and I've only had the chili calamari but if you like fried jalapenos, that's an awesome dish.

we ate there last trip and it was fabulous. Loved it. We did not do the amphicar but enjoyed watching them.

I ate there a few weeks ago and my friend and I thought it was very good. I decided that I wanted to do a sampling of raw oysters and the server was amazing. He knew so much about the oysters and the different regions and tastes and helped me so much in selecting them. I had an ahi salad along with my oysters and the salad was very good too. Service was exceptional from start to finish. We didn't do the amphicars--I had to pay for those oysters!

We ate there in October. Ate lunch - there was nobody there! I had the bucket of shrimp which was really good! My son's kids meal came in a paper amphicar box. He loved that. I thought the food was really good. Service great. Great decor. Cleanest bathrooms ever. We did the amphicars after we ate. If you spend $50 on lunch you get a $25 off the amphicars. You purchase the ride in the gift shop. They have a photographer take your picture in the car and standing next to it. You can buy them after in the gift shop (we didn't). The ride is a tour of the lake - the driver talks the whole time giving his "tour". The ferry that goes back and forth made it a little rocky - some splashes got inside. It was fun - something you don't get to do everyday. Took like 25 minutes. My son loved the whole place - he wants to go there again! And we had to wait for the amphicars - there were 2 parties in front of us. They were going in and out - seemed popular.

The crabcake sounds really awesome. Has anyone tried it recently?

Most definitely NOT a signature.

Huge disappointment for us last week. Started off with the fact that our host had to scold the congregating servers so we could get by to our table... service was extremely rushed... I ordered a few pieces of shrimp as raw bar appy & while the pieces were large enough they were most definitely previously frozen. DH ordered a salad that was advertised as mixed greens only to receive simple iceberg. My lobster was fine. Nothing wonderful. Nothing terrible. DH steak was ordered medium rare. What was placed in front of him was absolutely beyond rare (I order rare & this was still blue). What was returned to him was well done.

Although the mgr did take the steak off the bill & handled things as they should have, I was still very disappointed by the experience.

So much potential but... :sad2::sad2::sad2: ...will be a long time before we go back.

Went in October, the atmosphere is great though the inside can get really loud. The food was above average for Disney, average for the restaurants I have back home at twice the price. I would return for their regular fair (under $20 entrees) but wouldn't spend the money for their filet mignon again.

We all loved it. We sat for lunch in the 3rd dining room with a few other tables. Very quiet. Meal was excellent and the filet was perfect. Can't wait to go back.

We also just ate there in Oct. and loved it. I posted a lot of pics here: Disney Food Pictures...Part V!
Amazing! I finally (FINALLY) settled on The Boathouse for our Easter Sunday dinner, and then came here and saw your pictures and am SO excited now! I love the enormous menu. One of the problems with many other Disney restaurants is you have to kind of predict that you'll be in the mood for what's on an often very limited menu, 6 months out. I've changed and changed and changed and changed my ADRs because I've never really been all that sold on any of the menus. This one has everything from burgers and sandwhiches to lobster and filet mignon! And that lobster mac n cheese made me yelp out loud! YUM!!!

We ate there last week for the first time. We all liked it, there were 7 of us, 4 adults, 3 kids. Made reservations on Open Table. We will add this to our "yes" list.

We were there in September. During our 17 nights, our group ate there 6 times for dinner. It was a very good restaurant, in our opinion. For those stating, "definately not signature", what the heck is signature????????????? Is the food better than Via Napoli, no, it's different and it's all according to your liking. The restaurant was very clean, I loved the decor, you have a choice of indoor or outdoor seating and I felt it was a pretty extensive menu. I personally think dinner @ 1900 Park Fare is disgusting and should be shut down, but others believe it's very good, one person's view is completely different than the other. unless every review was horrible. The breakfast and Kona was awful, in my opinion also but it's always crowded so it works for others. I never go on another person's recomendation of a restaurant because our likes are different, I look at the menu and then try for myself and go from there. I personally LOVE many of the entrees at TREX and I was on the Deluxe Dining plan for 17 nights and could go anywhere, a 2 credit restaurant does not mean it's automatically going to be "above average". The Turf Club and Olivia's, we feel, are hidden gems! Loved both of them for dinner. Don't always think "signature" means luxury or better food, it does not. Personally, our whole group did not like Le Cellier, was the food bad, no but we would not go back, personally. Look at the menus and OVERALL reviews and go from there, you may find a hidden gem!

I agree really looking forward to this one 12 more days. We also have ADR's for our March trip!

I had the crabcake a couple weeks ago. It was huge (I couldn't finish it) and really yummy. The coleslaw it was served with was really good too. Very fresh and dressed really well. It had a bit of lemon flavor to it. I really liked it, and I could usually take or leave coleslaw.

We had a really good meal there, but it was so loud we had a hard time carrying on a conversation, and we were at a table for two that was uncomfortably close to the other tables on either side of us. I liked the food a lot and the look of the restaurant, but those other things will make us think twice about going back and sitting inside.

Great pics poison ivy thanks for the link.

We have an ADR for lunch is less than two weeks can't wait.

Gorgeous photos, Poison Ivy! We have our ADR set for next May. I'm drooling at the thought!

thanks so much everyone. Hope you enjoy the restaurant and have a great trip.

I agree. They really do have an extensive menu with a lot of choices. We will not hesitate to drop by for a quick bite in the afternoon and definitely consider this restaurant a great choice anytime. Easter Sunday sounds perfect. Have a fantastic trip.
